Learning to Understand

Neivon

Spirit of the Shadow Guard

Dxun
Cloud Forest Region

It was raining quite softly as Neivon followed this Sith up a mountain. He didn't know what to expect, but he was already given the impression that were wasn't a trap set out. This planet was not even recommended for force users, so why was a Sith doing here? Sure the darkside was powerful here, but at the same time the creatures here were extremely hard to use the force or even lightsabers against. Everything here was force resistant. Perhaps more than Neivon. That actually did make him feel a bit jealous. It wouldn't blasted helped him during that fight against Lord Whatsishisface. Neivon couldn't keep his curiosity out any longer. He needed to know where this Sith was leading him.

"Where exactly are we going?" Neivon said.

To be honest Edwin had no idea where exactly he was taking this guy. Someplace where there wouldn't be any wildlife prowling on them. Which made the cloud forests on this planet seem sexy. But there's also wildlife up there too. So it probably didn't matter to begin with. "Honestly," Edwin began. "I have no idea."

Edwin stopped as they came to a large cave, almost completely covered by the trees. Perhaps it could provide adequate hiding. Or maybe provide adequate cover for anything willing to ambush potential prey. Edwin didn't know, he wasn't powerful enough in the force yet to due such techniques. With a sigh of reluctance, he entered the place. There was something in here, a giant resting beast was located inside the cave. "And what do you think that might be?" Edwin didn't know the creatures here, just that the force ghost wished for a maalraas.

Neivon followed Edwin into the cave. For a natural occurrence with the trees, they sure hid the place quite well. But what would you expect from a rainforest? Edwin questioned the Zakkeg before them. For a creature that's rare, it wasn't difficult to find one. Neivon thought. He lowered his force. "Zakkeg, dangerous predators, before I left the Mandalorians, they were considered honorable game." Neivon moved closer to it. If he was getting it's blood sample, now would've been a great time to do just that. Neivon moved out of the cave, turning on his lightsaber. He didn't want the sudden sound of it coming to life disturb the beast, he wanted a clear shot. Shame they didn't yawn. Taking a straight aim into one's mouth could cause quick and easy organ failure.

Neivon silently moved back into the cave. Taking careful steps to not cause sound on the cave floor. He then raised his lightsaber, and striked the humming blade into it's muzzle, just inches away from the brain. The beast's eyes glowed with pain. Roaring an indefinite roar as it began to charge Neivon. But the bounty hunter used the shaft of his light saber to get out of the way, pulling the saber out in the process. "Don't just stand there!" He yelled. "Do whatever you Sith can do!"

[member="Edwin Setyl"]

Edwin looked on in surprise as the bounty hunter hit the beast straight in it's snout. The mandalorian yelled at him to help. With hasty confusion, Edwin turned on his lightsaber. He watched as the beast was about to lay a blow on the bounty hunter. With his eyes closed, Edwin used the force to push the beast back. Stopping it's assault, the acolyte opened his eyes to see this. He groaned in annoyance. I really don't know how to use the force properly, don't I? He thought. He swung his lightsaber around as he went in for the blow against this 'Zakkeg'.

Neivon didn't know why the Sith simply continued to stand there and watch as the bounty hunter tried parrying every blow the beast handed to him. It caught him off guard how intelligent the creature was, understanding the glowing part of his staff was the part to avoid. Doing so anytime Neivon tried blocking. He could see why mandalorians typically gave people great honor for these kinds of hunts. He tried dealing and blocking another blow, missing. He shut his eyes as he waited for the beast to hit him, only the thud of something and no impact. He opened his eyes to see the beast was pushed back, with the Sith now attacking it. Seemed he helped anyways. With a grunt, Neivon leaped into the fray, cutting through the supposed great armor of the creature as the Sith stabbed through it. The two of them made surprising fluid motions together. They cut the Zakkeg's limbs, with Neivon dealing the killing blow. Another one off his list.

Neivon took out a syringe, taking a blood sample of the dying adversary. One less creature he had to worry about.

Edwin's breathing was slowly coming back to him. It was an impressive creature for sure. Edwin's heart leaped at the thought he would've died if he had faced this thing lone. And in a larger area. He watched the bounty hunter take a blood sample from the beast. Very unusual.

"What exactly is that for?" He said out of curiosity. He cursed to himself, biting his own lip as he regretted asking something that was probably not for his ears.

Neivon ignored the question. He never exactly told anyone of the things he did on these missions. Six-Eyes told him not to. That it was the way for Bounty Hunters to start mouthing about what they do. Neivon was new at the game, and kept that to heart through all of this. He poured the blood into a vial, standing up as he faced the Sith. "What was it you about dashades?" Neivon paced the cave as he waited for an answer.

[member="Edwin Setyl"]

Edwin sighed. Seems he was wasn't to get any answers about their whereabouts here from the Bounty Hunter. Blast, even Edwin wouldn't tell anyone that he was in search for a maalraas. He looked towards the Bounty Hunter as they paced. Perhaps they weren't fond of standing still too long. His time in the OS told him otherwise. Even so, Edwin found himself hardly being used to standing in place.

"I know very little but..." Edwin paused as he tried to recollect the information Kuul'Ket'Tur told him. "The dashade were a species known for being force sensitives, resistant to radiation, and having the ability to dissipate heat. They're rare now, but they were the common choice for battle instructors and even assassins throughout the galaxy. Or at least, during the Old Republic..."

Neivon absorbed the information. It didn't matter what it was as long as it was information pertaining to this ordeal of his. But still, it didn't answer his way of getting rid of this 'possession'. Did the Sith know? Didn't hurt to try.

"Do you know how to get rid of this Dashade, though?"

[member="Edwin Setyl"]

Edwin anticipated the question. He didn't expect it so soon, but guessed this man must be very straightforward. Oh well, that wasn't a problem. Edwin did have questions of his own, but perhaps it was better to answers the bounty hunters.

"I'm really not sure, I would have to find more information on this and your... state," In reality, Edwin was just going to ask the Sith Lord. Hopefully the Sith was also fluent when it came to incantations and Sith alchemy. It wasn't of the darkside, it was just the Sith used the darkside in it and the jedi rarely see themselves practicing such things. Blast, why did there have to be so many negatives on both sides?

Blast it, looks like he'll have to wait another day for this. He wanted this out of his system, but seems like another day of waiting. It was a real shame. He thanked the Sith for the knowledge, afforing to trade comms in case he figured out something. The Sith agreed, but also asked for a request from the Sith. They seemed to be searching for a maalraas, Neivon didn't know why and assumed it must be for something 'sithy'. At least that's what his answer was for most Sith-related activities. "Well then," Neivon said. "Shall we begin the hunt?" Neivon checked his hovercams, looking at past footage. They had, indeed found a maalraas. A group of them this time. Neivon cursed to himself. He was going to need to find a way to attack them without them disappearing on him. He turned to the Sith.

"Got any ideas on killing a Maalraas?" Neivon said.

[member="Edwin Setyl"]

Edwin stared past him. Looking out into the rainforest with all it's unpredictable measures. Chit, he didn't even know what a Maalraas even looked like. Perhaps it would be better to learn about them before going head on. He brought his gaze back to Neivon, shaking his head as he frowned. "Perhaps, you could tell me a bit about them?" Edwin offered.

He was going to take every opportunity of understanding this opponent. He needed them alive, and he felt that the Bounty Hunter didn't know that. "Also, when we find it, could we capture it alive?"

Neivon looked at the Sith. Seems this guy truly had a use for it. Was it to make sithspawn? Why else would a Sith need a creature from Dxun of all places for? Neivon thought it was best to put it to rest. Just thinking of the process of turning something into sithspawn made him shiver. "Maalraas, they're creatures who can use the force to conceal themselves, not only that, but they're immune to lightsaber strikes and the force in general."

"Shall we get a move on now, the creatures here aren't exactly naturally idle." Neivon felt they were no longer alone, that there were perhaps dozens of creatures looking onto their direction.

[member="Edwin Setyl"]

Edwin took the information in wholeheartedly. Now he knew why Kuul'Ket'Tur wanted a maalraas. It would certainly verify survival for him, as he would have something to easily dominate and easily use in case of a fight. Edwin stared at flinging his lightsaber around before deactivating it. He pulled out his blaster pistol, the same one he had since he was heralded as a pilot prodigy those years before. "If what you say is true, then I guess a blaster pistol would do?"

The bounty hunter nodded. "Vibroweapons are perferred, but enough talking. Let's catch ourselves a maalraas." Neivon check his equipment in his gauntlet, making sure he had his carbonite spray. He wasn't sure how the Sith will defreeze the maalraas once it's captured, but trusted the Sith could have a way. Besides, the maalraas wouldn't be his trouble afterwards.

Neivon shrugged. "For now."

The two of them traversed the high tops tops of the forest. Neivon was almost jealous of the balance and power the Sith was able to use in the force to stay as pace with the grappling bounty hunter. Almost. Neivon got to the area where the creatures were prowling previously. There was no sigh of them now, Neivon hoped they left some kind of sign of their whereabouts. Even so, it wouldn't be hard either. Neivon took his thermal scanners, they only left this area recently which meant. They were either still here or hunting something else. Neivon activated his energy shields. "Sith," He called. "Get out your blaster." Neivon drew his vibroknife, awaiting for the maalraas pack to leap out towards him.

[member="Edwin Setyl"]

Edwin took out his blaster without a word. Watching from the trees as the bounty hunter did whatever bounty hunters do. But it seems they were just... standing there. It perplexed Edwin. He thought bounty hunters were relentless in the things they did? Perhaps this one was different. He kind of felt bad, that kind of difference probably wouldn't sit well with working among other bounty hunters. With a sigh, Edwin looked around from the tree tops, awaiting for the creatures to show up. He felt a shiver from the force, they must've been near. He was tempted to take out his lightsaber, remembering what the Bounty Hunter said. With a groan of disdain, Edwin kept his blaster pistol at the ready.

Neivon kept a hand on his vibroknife while having another kept on his blaster pistol. They knew that he knew of their presence. But in reality, Neivon had no clue of their whereabouts, and he couldn't just simply set off detonite, he needed one of them alive and felt the Sith didn't want them injured. Instead Neivon let his limbs go limp, to make it look like he had dropped his guard. It was the opportunity he needed. One of them dissipated from the force revealing themselves as they launched for Neivon. He rolled out of the way, spraying the maalraas with carbonite.

"Now come on and help me kill the rest of these things!" He called, pulling his knife in a hunter's stance as he sliced a leg from one of the many maalraas.

[member="Edwin Setyl"]

Watched him freeze the maalraas. They looked like terrible beasts. Slim, lean, and hound-like. Edwin shivered at a would've been future if he had to face a pack alone. Edwin stood up, gathering his balance as he began shooting at the remaining beasts. They dodged and arced themselves expertly in quick maneuvers. It caught him off guard at how easy this bounty hunter made it seem as they dismembered a maalraas, delivering a killing blow. Edwin watched as two of them tried a verticle flank towards Neivon. He shot one of them, but they maneuvered past the shot. Edwin sent another blaster bolt in quick succession, a shot the beast didn't seem to anticipate, nor did Neivon, to happen so quickly. He smiled in satisfaction despite the fact there were 4 more Maalraas to cut down.

Neivon appreciated the blaster fire above and was even impressed when the Sith killed one of the maalraas themselves. Neivon continued cutting down more of the beasts, trying his best not to breath in the stench of blood. It would be bad if his blood thirsty nature appeared now, especially this close to a Sith. He didn't know what the obsession of this dashade was with force-sensitives, and gave up trying to know long ago. He sort of... went long with it. Although the fact that he shared his mind with another sentient wasn't exactly a joyous experience. Neivon ducked another diving maalraas, while nearly being cut by another until blaster fire hit it straight in the head, instantly killing it. Neivon then leaped onto the carcass, using it as leverage as he ran his knife into the last maalraas.

Within minutes, all six of the seven maalraas were dead at Neivon's feet. He looked up towards Edwin, "Now how're you going to get this thing of this planet?" The bounty hunter prodded the frozen maalraas with his blaster pistol to indicate what he meant.
