Le Dragon Rencontre I'héritier Hapan (Farn/DragonsFlame)

Tython. It'd been so long since Josh had been here. Since being re-deployed to Coruscant, Josh very scarcely visited the homeworld of the Jedi Order. His latest memories here were bitter ones. As the Weaponmaster of the Jedi Council walked the halls of the Jedi Temple, his mind travelled to that fateful day. Jedi dying around him, some corrupted by Sith magic, their souls taken, their bodies left empty husks that turned on and killed their Jedi bretheren. And in the centre of it all was a group of Rogue Sith. Ones he would never forgive.

Velok was dead. But that image of what he saw in the archives would haunt DragonsFlame for the rest of his life. Gritting his teeth, he tried to push the memories from his mind.... It wasn't good to lose his composure around the other Jedi, who as a member of the Council was looked up to and always viewed on a spotlight. He set the standard for the Jedi Knights. He couldn't lose himself here...

Deciding a bit of training might cure his ails, Josh turned away from the wrecked archives, still under repair after the attack... Turning and walking away and heading toward the sparring hall.

"Jab left, feint, block, counterattack, disengage." A bead of sweat ran down Tallia's red, hot-looking face and absorbed into her tan tunic. She continued to weave her web of attacks against an invisible foe. It had been nearly a year since she had had the privilege to train in the halls of the Jedi's oldest temple on Tython, but she felt right at home. The room she currently stood in was where she had had her first lightsaber lesson nearly ten years before.

The atmosphere on Tython had always made Tallia feel so peaceful, she was glad she had a chance to come back before she began her next assignment. She hadn't felt the serenity of this planet in months. The Coruscant temple was always filled with hustle and bustle and one hardly ever found time to rest or meditate unless you were in private chambers. Everything felt so much less stressful here, almost if time was trying to slowly come to a stop.

Tallia finished off another set of her fluid attack pattern, and sheathed her lightsaber, fastening it tightly to her utility belt. She then slowly got down on her knees and began to meditate, enjoying the peace and quite in the large room.

Josh walked by her, being careful not to step on the meditating @[member="Tallia Farn"]. It would be wrong, after all to discourage her meditating. Seeing a vent for his frustrations, Josh's eyes homed in on the droid target dummy in the corner. A smile crossed the face of the Weaponmaster as he walked over to it, examining where the head, body, arms and legs would be on it, seeming to be planning every strike and slash within a few seconds.

Taking a deep breath, he pushed a few buttons on the side panel, preparing for an intense duel before he finished, the button releasing the droid. The humanoid-ish droid suddenly burst to life, a gold colored lightsaber springing from it's metal hand and engaging, just as the training exercise was programmed.

A grin crossed the face of the Knight as he engaged his lightsaber. The dark blue blade hummed as he dropped into a Makashi stance.... This was going to be interesting. It had been awhile since he had trained like this after all.

Tallia felt the presence of @[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] as he entered the training hall. She kept her eyes closed, but focused on reading his force aura. He was filled with emotions, as all beings were, but right now he seemed to be showing frustration, or regret perhaps? Tallia tried to learn more, learn specifics, but he was burying it too deep for her to see anything. She opened her eyes as he started up a training program. "He's venting, trying to cool down." She thought to herself.

Tallia watched the duel with the training droid intensely. The Jedi was certainly a skilled blades man. She waited until he was finished, then asked, "What bothers you?"

The duel had gone on a good 20 minutes. During that time, Josh had let himself get lost entirely in the rush of combat, his instincts kicked in as the Weaponmaster practically flipped and flew through the room during the duel, having set the droid to fight at the level of a Sith Lord. It was that intensity he needed after all, imagining the droid as the Rogue Sith that had invaded this temple and slaughtered Jedi that he knew, Jedi he had worked with, Jedi he had loved as friends and allies. And for what? Holocrons? Archives? The Darkstaff? The Weaponmaster had fought his heart out, like his life depended on it, letting instinct take over as he ducked and weaved, flipped and flew around the room, attacking aggressively with the Makashi style that he had spent years upon years working on tirelessly to master. The slightly humanoid droid had so far blocked everything that the Weaponmaster had thrown at it, and in return Josh had blocked and dodged everything in kind.

Finally, Josh pulled a swerve. Suddenly, he switched his lightsaber to his off hand, an incredibly risky maneuver already, before bringing the saber down hard on the golden blade that the droid wielded. His superhuman strength allowed him push the blade down with the slam, before using the fact that the droid's head was now uncovered to throw a punch with his right, his good hand, as hard as he possibly could. Fist met metal as the droid short circuited, stunned from the blow that had completely scrambled it's senses, just as an opponent would be flabbergasted and stunned after a shot like that. Blood poured from a large cut on Josh's knuckle as with a small toss, the Weaponmaster switched saber hands once again, using his bloody good hand to slice the saber through the droid's "heart" before it could regain it's senses.

The droid collapsed, and Josh pressed a button after the indication showed that the duel was over. The droid walked back to the recharge station and shut down. Breathing heavily from the rush, the adrenaline of the fight, Josh heard a voice speaking behind him.

His gaze darting behind him, he smiled slightly at the woman who had questioned him. Ah, she must have sensed his emotions... He hadn't exactly hid them after all. There was no harm in being honest.

Walking over to her, he cracked his neck, deactivating his lightsaber and putting it back on his belt. It was there that he noticed and stared for a second at the blood that had spread along his hand. He would heal that in a bit, no problem.

Looking back at her, he smiled again. Not the handsome, charming, allureable one that had become a custom from him, but the best smile he could muster despite his feelings, it seemed to be more of one of reassurance, telling her he was fine, more then anything else.

"I couldn't save them" he finally said, taking a breath, the memories of the Sith that had slaughtered his fellow Jedi, the memory he had tried to avoid coursing through his mind once again. "The Jedi that perished in the raid of the archives. I was there, there was nothing I could do" he explained. Being the highest ranking member that had gone into that battle, Josh had taken full responsibility for the casualties of it. And he was taking it hard.

What? Tallia wondered why she hadn't heard about the attack. She would have thought she would have heard at least something about it, even though she had been on Coruscant for a while. "You-you." Tallia had a hard time finding her voice, as she still was in slight shock. "You can't blame yourself for that. The thing that matters most is that you stood up and kept the temple safe when no one else could. Without your help, this temple would be nothing but ash." She stood up from her meditative stance. "You should be proud of that."

He sighed. "It doesn't matter" he said, shaking his head. "Temples can be rebuilt, my friend. But lives cannot be replaced. I don't care for the holocrons or even the darkstaff. I was responsible for lives, and I failed them" he said simply.

He smiled faintly. "I... Thank you for trying to cheer me up though" he said. "I appreciate it. But I went there to protect my fellow Jedi, my juniors, and I failed at that. That is what happened during that raid and I accept responsibility for it"
