The Type 2 Kyr'gal-class Starfighter is a more advanced and slightly larger version of the Kyr'gal line of Starfighters. Like the Type 1 Starfighters, these ships lack hyperdrives and are exclusively utilized for short range escort and screening missions. Though less common than the last generation of Starfighters, Type 2 Kyr'gal are also deployed en-mass where their droid pilots rely on speed and numbers to overwhelm their opponents. In spite of the cheapness of their manufacturing, the design incorporates a complex power distribution and propulsion system that enables these starfighters to adjust their performance profiles mid-engagement to capitalize on the unique vulnerabilities of their opposition. Since these adjustments can be made on a per-starfighter level, individual Kyr'gal can often surprise a pilot that has grown accustomed to the performance profiles of the other starfighters in a squadron.
