CHARACTER BACKGROUND:
Despite insisting on remaining an apprenticed Jedi Knight, Kylass Starhaven is one of the older Lightsworn due to the longevity of her Arkanian lineage. At 54, Kylass has already lived half-a-century of a past life. Once, long ago, Kylass was a Young Jedi Padawan under the tutelage of an Atrisian Jedi Master within the Galactic Alliance’s Jedi Order.

By the end of what the Arkanians consider adolescence, in her mid-30’s, Kylass had served in several conflicts against the Brotherhood of the Maw, the Dark Empire, and witnessed the sackings of Coruscant and the Core. Kylass and her Master were also caught in the political strife between the Galactic Alliance and the Jedi Order which resulted in the Order’s ostracization. In one of the latter conflicts, when Kylass was in her 40’s, her Master was slain by Sith Operatives that had infiltrated into Alliance space.

Breaking ties with the Jedi Order, Kylass struck out alone across the galaxy to hunt down these Operatives. For nearly two decades she tailed them until discovering their connection to the now risen Galactic Empire of Darth Solipsis. She spent much of her time investigating across the Outer Rim, working with Spacers, Sky Wardens, Marshals, Smugglers and Info Brokers to hunt those that slain her Master.

Distraught and without guidance, Kylass ventured to the homeworld of her late Master, Atrisia, where she encountered the Ashina Clan and became a member of the militant order of crusading Jedi - the Lightsworn. Believing her training was not finished after the death of her Master, Kylass refused the rank of master, despite her age and experience, and continued as a Jedi Knight under the tutelage of Lightsworn Jedi Masters.
