- Focusing lens: The Refractor crystals can act as a powerful focusing lens for all sorts of energy and light-based weaponry, greatly increasing their efficiency and as such also their longevity. When using the kyberslag refractor crystal, as part of this efficiency, blasts and beams will be capable of reaching further and with higher intensity without actively draining or needing more energy to do so. Because of this, it would also make weapons utilizing this type of crystal much less restricted and affected by many substances which dampen the output of energy and light-based weapons.

The creation of the Refraction crystals is the natural result of the N&Z's policy to never waste any of its materials or leftovers, as had been proven in the past, the research into waste materials and recycled materials has always brought new opportunities to the company. As was the case with their own reactor designs ending up perfect as the basis for fuel refineries, so too would the slag from their artificial kyber crystal production yield several new products and ideas.
While Eridium Alloy employs the slag as a means to be more thermally efficient and resistant, in this case, engineers had decided to test what could happen if one were to combine the crystal slag with additional biomolecules harvested at the New Cov facilities. The unique procedure to do so was decided upon after several of the jewelers of the Ambrosia division pointed out that a cheap and efficient way to have a whole variable size option, was to utilize high density pressure and molds to simply force the kyber crystal slag and the biomolecules to effectively fuse into a new material.
While in the end the material isn't exactly new, as it is in effect a sort of impure artificial kybercrystal, its limited force absorption powers, its lightbending, focusing and refraction qualities depending on the form and cut of the crystals has turned these easily produced and cheaply formed crystals into a useful product for the future of the N&Z technological leap forward...
