SPECIAL FEATURES

Strengths |
  • | Mobility Warfare | The GEN II Dragoon like its predecessor was designed to excel in highly mobile combat. Its addition to vertical maneuverability with its usage of thrusters allow for Dragoons to soar above urban environments to reach better vantage points to strike from and speed across the battlefield make them a fearsome presence that can be anywhere and strike from anywhere. They are the perfect tool for blitz and guerilla based strategies.
  • | Tip of the Spear | The GEN II Dragoon is cutting edge technology designed for the chosen elite of the Sith Imperial Legion, effectively turning them into juggernauts. They incorporate a majority of the features used in the previous generation with enhanced functions. It was built not only to take a beating, but lead the charge and break enemy lines. It is a highly modular armor system that allows for numerous and near infinite combinations of offensive, defensive and utility tech to be added to it via hardpoints or system integrations. Its shields and plating make it as durable as a lightly armored vehicle with the capability of fielding weapons fit for a tank via hardpoint attachments.
Weaknesses |
  • | Impacted Mobility | Despite being able to take hits from all manner of weapons exceedingly well, the Dragoon suffers from negative impacts to its mobility once it starts taking hits while unshielded as a result of the hardening of the impact gel layer armor beneath. Though this gel is able to return to a more flexible state after a short period of down time, it can prove to be somewhat of a hinderence when out in the open.
  • | Extensive Maintenance | Though the GEN II Dragoon is cutting edge and built to be as versatile as it is effective, the suit itself requires extensive maintenance when out of combat and such only operate in quick operations to prevent overextended use to minimize potential damage or failures.

DESCRIPTION

The Dragoon Combat Suit is a set of full body armor that provides high mobility and an impressive set of features to the user. Due to the exoskeletal nature of the suit, it provides the wearer with increased strength and load bearing capacities, with sturdy armor plates to protect the wearer from blaster fire should their shields not be active. A protective thermal gel layer keeps the temperature levels of the wearer stable allowing them to function in nearly any environmental condition without suffering from hindrances to the operator.

Magnetic locks are built into the boots to keep the wearer rooted to whatever metallic surface they are standing on, whether on the hull of a spaceship or a metallic hallway. The lock is typically more than enough to resist the effects of any Force based powers that attempt to move the wearer whilst they are planted on a metallic surface.

The Dragoon Combat Suit is a specialized suit of armor to be worn exclusively by the chosen elite of the Sith Empire's Imperial Legion. It provides a superior edge on the battlefield for infantry by providing the chosen few with even greater means of dominating the battlefront. Several hardpoints along its arms, and shoulders allow for additional gear or equipment to be mounted on each Dragoon, allowing for greater flexibility or firepower on the battlefield as well as versatility of arsenal. There is a hardpoint on each of the forearms and one for each shoulder, though standard loadouts typically only have up to two of these hardpoints used without impacting mobility significantly.

The helmet provides an array of sensors that are able to display an unrestricted field of view to the wearer, allowing them to have a 360-degree field of view for maximum awareness of the environment. The helmet also monitors vitals and the status of the suit to the wearer, alerting them if there are breaches or changes in the vitals of the wearer. All suit functions can be managed and operated from the helmet. The helmet functions are outfitted with FoF system that identifies friendlies and hostiles, several vision modes [Thermal/Nightvision/Backscatter] and an encrypted comm suite that allows for safe communication along encrypted channels across the battlefield or for squad comms.

The suit provides an hour of oxygen for vacuum environments and is protected from environmental conditions. An inner gel layer regulates the body temperature to compensate for temperature extremes and functions as the last line of defense against blaster bolts. The armor can be pressurized assuming it has not sustained any significant damage to its exterior. The suit's features allow it to be deployed from low altitudes from flying transports, allowing them to make landfall behind enemy lines or in the heat of battle.

The Dragoon is equipped with several thrusters, a primary one mounted on the back and a smaller pair on the bottoms of the feet, allowing for limited flight capabilities in urban environments. This allows for the Dragoon to move across the battlefield in a much more efficient and streamlined manner for superior maneuverability. Each Dragoon Suit has a personal energy shield mounted on it, creating a protective bubble around the wearer, protecting them from blaster fire, elements, and other harmful environmental hazards.
