'They've got fortified guns on the four corners Commander, if you don't take them out; then this attack will fail before it begins' The trooper's voice sounded in hear ear comm. Aayla was straddled against a mostly rock wall, taking her time in climbing, and even jumping to new locations to elevate. "Working on it two-three.." the breathily response came, she was dressed simple, and light. Clearly, her role on the field was a skirmisher, or even a plain scout; that was what anyone that caught a glimpse would think, outside of the lightsaber that was prominently visible on her hip.

Aayla was assigned to the 187th attack battalion, padawan to Jedi Master Mace Windu, and Commander of the Legion. The Endurance however, was about four systems away at this point returning to Kamino to resupply. The Jedi was following orders, tagging along now to regroup with her Battalion, and her Master. Though, duty called. Destroying this Droid Factory could very well tip the war in their favor; especially considering the size, and production. Her mission now was to disengage the bases outer security, and find a way to ease access for the lurking behemoth of a light cruiser only one system away.

Currently, her and a group of no more than fifteen Clone-Troopers were tasked with doing the dirty work. Forward reconnaissance. and subterfuge.

With her climb coming to an end, Aayla peeked over the edge of the castle like structure, a loud grinding permeating the air as the factory was full alive with work, and movement. A droid would appear right in front of her, walking up and causing her to lower her posture as she hung on the wall, exhaling ever so lightly with the strain. She was barely using the Force, as Windu had taught her to use her own strength to completion if necessary. The Force was always there, and was to be used as a last resort. Looking down, Aayla would close her eyes, listening to the slow scrape of metal on stone.

After a moment, she would jump up, and onto the threshold, glancing around. "This is Commander Shan, Operation Ogre has begun. Two-Three, signal the Hammer to make its run." With that done, she took her finger from her ear and pressed forward; sneaking in the direction of the bases control center.

A small yawn escaped the lisps of Birdy as she sat rather comfortably on a crate whistle waiting for her shuttle to land. After claiming victory on the hot planet of Er’Kit, keeping the Sepratist from staking and establishing another droid factory there, the Vigilant Company was immediately contacted by General Windu to aid his Battalion with destroying another factory. Birdy was more than glad and willing to help out her fellow comrades and fight at their side, but she would be lying if she denied the weary feeling of not getting any leave time after coming from a battle. Normally her company was fortunate enough to give their troopers some leave time - even if it was just one day - after every campaign won or loss; but it wasn’t the case for today. Today, after wiping out the last few droids on Er’kit she and her sisters were comm by her sergeant to prepare to join General’s Windu and his commander with their campaign. No soust she was excited, but as for the moment...she was a little tired.

Through the small openings from the shuttles door, Birdy could see a castle-like building in the distance which she guessed was the factory and where she and her sister’s would be meeting the 187th commander. All she needed to do for now was to wait patiently for her shuttle to land and get word from Commander Shan.

Apologies Birdy (CT-5387) Birdy (CT-5387) , I wanted to give some time for everyone to post; I'll continue and the others can jump in whenever!

Aayla snuck along the rampart of the building, eyes taking in anything that could've been important. There was a single glance cast backwards at what she know noted was a B2 Super Battle droid. The path was clear however, save for a few voices that didn't sound like droids. Peeking over the low cover of a few durasteel containers, she would observe three droids escorting a group of villagers out of the command center she was heading too, and most unfortunately in her direction. She had a choice. She could easily slide over the wall right now, hanging off the side until they passed, but that wasn't exactly her style. Least of all when innocent lives were in play.

The rear command was periodically feeding tidbits of their squad movements into her comms, the most recent information being the arrival of what would essentially be their CAS when the fighting broke out. Aayla glanced again, noting there was just a bit of distance still left as the group of civilians were still approaching, followed closely by the droids. As one of the Kudons neared the apex of the corner, her eyes snapped onto Aayla, clearly she was surprised to see her, and Aayla simply stared back, nodding once.

"Who told you to stop?" The droid in command asked, his frail neck twisting lightly to observe the group as a whole; he didn't notice what she was looking at, and the Kudon in question simply glanced back, shaking her head. "Sorry, I thought I saw something..." she said, walking past Aayla, who was now waiting for the trio of droids to come into view. Aayla noted that the group ahead was now glancing back fervently, expectant.

By the time the droids were just about to hit the corner, Aayla would stand, her back tilted slightly in the droids direction
"Hey! Hands!" one of the three said, to which Aayla had close her eyes, and spun to them indeed extending her hand and releasing a sudden explosion of The Force. The droids wailed in unison as they were sent careening over the edge.

A few stormtroopers below were using liquid cables and climbing below, glancing at the three falling droids, then shrugging at each other. By the time Aayla had turned back to the group of people that were now clamoring in their direction, she was joined by a few more Clone Troopers.

"
My name is Aayla Shan, I'm a Jedi padawan on a mission here to destroy this facility, are you the only people here?" Aayla would question, to which the Kudon that spotted her would exclaim 'Yes, they kidnapped us from our village! Forced us to build those stupid droids, My family, they're in the basement level; a huge furnace... Its slave work'.

Aayla listened to what she said fully, then would nod lightly. "The Republic will handle this, please follow these Troopers to safety" Aayla said, pointing at two Troopers near her. Once they were out of sight, they pushed forward to the Command Room; a short battle ensued, resulting in them taking control of, and shutting down all perimeter defenses. It was noted however, that the system only controlled the exterior sensors and defense systems, the bases interior systems seemed to be on a completely different server.

" CT 53 87, is your squad in position yet" Aayla cringed lightly, never liking to call Clone by their number, there were few that didn't have some kind of name. However, this was her first time encountering the unit, and wasn't even aware the Clone was a female; that would throw her for a loop. "Relay a message to your pilot, after your insertion; there are a group of civvies that need to be extracted from this zone, Clones 3593 and Sticks are in possession; you'll drop off on the North side of the structure, the main dome is where we'll stage for part two." Aayla said, eyes flicking out of the window as The Hammer was suddenly visible. It was literally never not awe inspiring to see a Star Destroyer in atmosphere. Her eyes would hover over it as a few more LAAT's were visibly being launched from its bay.

Right at that moment, the alarms had gone off, in the middle of the structure there was an elevator platform that had just brought up no less that sixty combat droids of differing variety; there would be almost an endless ring of blaster fire as the fighting had officially kicked off.

Ryv

Paragon of Sacrifice
From within his bedroom back on Coruscant, Ryv hummed to himself. His only day off from temple life for the week hadn't been much fun. He spent all morning buried under his blanket, only crawling out from beneath it to enjoy leftovers from the night before. Now well into the afternoon, he tinkered with loose parts at his desk. BD-8 provided a melodic tune that kept the Jedi Knight somewhat focused on a task designed to kill time.

Finding something to do that involved going out proved harder than he expected. Everyone he knew was busy, be it with Jedi or personal affairs. Hell, even Ripley couldn't find the time to do anything beyond dinner later in the evening.

"Chieftain," Ryv looked to the droid. "Get some rest. I'm gonna do some meditation or something."

Ryv hopped up from the desk and exited the room. Behind him, the BD unit did as suggested, falling inactive to recharge. The rest of his apartment was as lively as his bedroom. He looked over the living space, decided on the couch, and wandered over. Snagging a blanket along the way, the kiffar wrapped it around himself. He laid out across the couch and closed his eyes. The world around him faded away, replaced by the sound of his breathing. Each intake of breath stretched out for several seconds. Before he knew it, even that disappeared.

Only darkness welcomed the Jedi Knight.

cqs1XXW.png

Light pierced the darkness as Ryv's eyes fluttered open. He raised a hand to block out the uncomfortable sensation. Muffled grunts accompanied the sound of cloth scraping against duracrete as he pushed himself back to his feet. A quick scan of his immediate surroundings revealed he had no idea where he was or how he got there, let alone what he was doing there in the first place. His hand shot to his side suddenly, seeking the familiar sensation of his lightsaber.

When bare fingers enclosed around the lightsaber hilt, he breathed a sigh of relief. Valor flooded his body. His movements sharpened to the point of something supernatural. No matter where he looked or how he stepped, there wasn't any wasted movement in his frame.

The room around him was mostly barren. Dull gray walls greeted the Jedi Knight, lacking any design or decoration. Sprinklers lined the ceiling. Small crates were shoved into a corner. Further examination revealed faint scrapes along the floor from the blast door to the stack of crates. He wandered over and searched a singular crate for an access terminal. Finding it on the back, he activated the opening sequence and stepped back. It split into three pieces.

A hidden crease appeared down the center, leading up to a horizontal break in the smooth surface. The T-shape pulled back and revealed dozens of blasters. Thermal detonators rested within small, spherical grooves carved into the plating.

"Hmm," he narrowed his eyes and ran his fingers along the crate's surface. No dust or grime stuck to his fingertips. "Recently stored, huh?"

He straightened, eyes cast back to the door across the room. "Let's see where this leads."

Ryv marched towards the door with little concern for what awaited him on the other side. He realized a bit of discretion would've done him some good as a group of thin-framed battle droids turned at the sound of his exit.

"Hands up!" one shouted.

"Don't move, Jedi!" another ordered, blaster aimed for Ryv's chest.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Ryv raised both his hands. "Let's take a second to relax and get our bearings, alright? I'm not here to cau-"

"Quiet!" one marked with a yellow skullcap ordered. "Hand over the lightsaber, Jedi."

Ryv perked a brow. He looked between the trio, gauging the likelihood of his success against the battle droids. It didn't take him long to realize they were far from prepared to stop him if he wanted to make something of the encounter. So, in typical Ryv fashion, he summoned Resolve from his belt, ignited his viridescent blade, and struck out with an arching swipe. Two fell to his lightsaber's white-hot surface, both carved in twain before they could even react. The third straightened in an odd display of fear. He paid it no mind as his saber crashed down, carving the droid's head in half.

"Alright, that was easy," he deactivated the weapon and returned it to his belt. "Let's see if I can figure out what the hell is going on around here, huh?"

With that, the Jedi Knight turned to his left and hurried down the corridor.

The place was in full alert at this point, Aayla had informed the battalion to adopt a defensive posture until the hostages inside could be safely located and removed from the fighting. To that end, it was her that pressed into the depths of the Fortress alone. The base was surprisingly big, compared to what it looked like on the outside. On the inside, it was clear this place took some long years to build, a multi-leveled, and honeycombed base. Some of the rooms suggested that it was more than a mere droid factory, and may have been home to some sort of scientific team that came and went.

In addition to that, there was a trove of data to be pulled from this place. Not to mention several rooms chock full of munitions; it would make the Legion's Battlemaster blush. As Aayla looked over all the rooms she got the strangest feeling in her heart, slowing to a stop as her eyes trailed down the hallway. Something was leaving the strangest signature in the Force ahead. She couldn't put her finger on it, but found herself drawn in that direction all the same.

Moving into the clearing ahead of her, she saw the entrance to what she assumed was another armory room, though in front of this one laid a trio of droids that had been quite literally dismantled. She knelt to verify what she could already have placed a bet on. placing a thumb against the burnt edges of the droid, she ran it along just slightly as her eyes searched the area around her.

"I should report this now..." she said to herself aloud, placing a finger over her ear to get in touch with The Hammer's Bridge. If there was a Force Sensitive combatant here she knew it was smart to get backup from The Order. In any case, she wouldn't be able to as the base itself seemed to have an extremely strong jammer set up inside. She could retreat back outside and make the call, but... Well, what Master didn't know wouldn't hurt him...

Aayla clipped the Dolovite lightsaber from the clip on her waist and held it in hand, stealthily pressing forward. What he didn't know wouldn't hurt him, but it could very well kill her if she wasn't careful.

She would follow that path until she ran into someone, droid or not. Indeed she still had hostages to rescue, but this new development could have been extremely important too.

It wasn't too long ago the Sith had resurfaced themselves... If there was one here, she had to escape immediately, though she had to get eyes on who, or whatever had done that.

"Copy that Commander Shan, we'll be there ASAP ready to lock and load!" Birdy replied as a small smirk few on her lips after hearing the Commander mention her number. It didn't really bother the female-clone to hear her number instead of her name, after all, it was practically the first "name” given to her before her squadmates dubbed her the nickname "Birdy" after scoring high in flight training. “Oh and by the way commander, feel free to call me Birdy, it’s way easier than the list of numbers. Birdy out!” She hit a button on her com before clicking a few buttons that opened her to the pilots channel. “Hawk, bring this shuttle down to the North side of this place, you’ll drop the squad there and in the meantime load this thing up with civvies.”

“Copy that Birdy!” the pilot replied before tilting the helm of the shuttle and guiding it towards the main dome where Birdy guessed it was the main Command Room where the Commander was at. But outside the dome, there were still a few small batches battle droids charging towards the building with some already breaking-in their way into the building.

“Get ready guys, it might be a while until we even get in.” Birdy warned the group before jamming a large button that caused the ship’s large ramp to hiss as it slowly opened, revealing a full picture of what the squad was up against. She then turned around and gestured to one of the squamates, a sniper to take her place by the ramp.

Bringing her rifle scope to her eye and aiming at the droids, it was almost impossible for Tooka to miss a shot from the position she stood at. With perfect precision, the sister clone of Birdy picked off a number of droids who were heading for the dome, slowing down their enemy while causing some of them to turn tail and abort the command of infiltrating the dome.

“We should be good to go Birdy.” Tooka said, looking down from the ship and only spotting a small batch of droids that were manageable for the squad. Sure she could easily take them out like the ones before, but she knew her squad didn’t want to feel useless and needed something to shoot before any REAL chaos happen.

As soon as the shuttle touched down near the dome, the squad immediately rushed out of the ship and opened fire on the remaining droids, easily wiping them out as if they were simple practice targets. Once the area’s clearance was confirmed by every member of the suad, Birdy clicked a few buttons on her gauntlet to comm Commander Shan that the shuttle was ready and the area was clear from any danger.

“Commander Shan, the shuttle is ready for the civvies! What is your next order?” Birdy asked as she nodded half her squadmates to head inside the building.

Red energy bolts screeched through the air, each targeting Ryv as he raced forwards. Another squadron of the noisy battle droids positioned together in a four-way intersection just ahead of the Jedi Knight. With Resolve held in front of him, he faced the oncoming fire with little issue, his preference for defensive blade work really coming in handy. The green blade flashed to his right first, knocking aside a bolt that nearly caught him in the hip. His saber then flew leftward, batting aside another of the bolts back at the droid who fired it. It yelped before falling backward. Its charred body tumbled across the floor a few short feet, clanking the entire time.

"Oh no, he's getting close!" one shouted, its hand raised to point at the Jedi Knight rather than blast him.

"Don't stop shooting! Kill the Jedi!" one of the remaining five responded. "There's no way he can avoid all our shots!"

Ryv actually laughed at hearing the ongoing commentary. Never before had the Jedi Knight experienced such a lively and strange force of droids. Uniform models used for battle often kept to their programming, typically only gaining sentience after years of performing their duties. He almost didn't want to turn them all to scrap. Almost.

"No, no, no, n- Argh!" the closest to Ryv found his disbelief interrupted by a sweeping strike from the Jedi. His lightsaber tore through the droid's wiry frame with relative ease, sending it tumbling down a few feet from its fallen ally.

"Retreat!" the first to initially speak called out. It turned and ran down one of the corridors. The other two followed suit quickly, neither of which bothered to lay down suppressive fire on him as they did so. Ryv could only grin at the sight, truly surprised by the oddity that was these droids.

"I'm closing the blast doors!" the lead droid announced.

"Noooo!" the other two begged. "Please don't leave us behind! He's getting closer!"

Deaf to his fellow droid's pleas, the cowardly robot aimed its blaster at the terminal controlling the sliding durasteel door, and took several shots. A thick sheet of metal dropped from the ceiling, completely closing off the two droids' escape route. One beat at it with two mechanical hands. The other turned back to see the kiffar walking forward at a casual pace.

"Uh..." the droid nudged its shouting companion. "He's getting closer."

It turned from the blast door. "Ahh!"

"Sorry about this, fellas. You're pretty funny. I've just got a feeling if the positions were reversed, you wouldn't think much about gunning me down," Ryv stepped forward and lifted his saber high. One diagonal swipe sliced one in twain before he reversed his grip, slashed through the second's blaster, and thrust the green-bladed saber forward. It pierced the droid's chest plating and burst out the other side, buried several inches into the durasteel blast door. He tightened his grip on the hilt, slipped his feet apart to properly square his stance, and began to twist it within his hands. The metal slowly took on an orange hue.

"I'm just trying to figure out what's going on, man..." he groaned. "Where the hell is all the people?!"

She had been stalking through the halls when Birdy (CT-5387) Birdy (CT-5387) came through a little louder that she would've liked over her comms. Aayla didn't stop moving, eyes scanning as she continued walking past what was basically a trail of droid scrap. All of them clearly destroyed with a lightsaber. Her heart panged once, and she stopped dead in her tracks.

"Mindful of your emotions, mindful of your feelings Aayla" she reminded herself, calming the excitement that was swelling in her heart. As a Jedi, she shouldn't have wanted a fight, but how the heck could she deny that the premise of actually battling a Sith wasn't exciting? Skywalker's padawan gloated about it all the time.

After she had stood there for a while, she looked down at the reddish lightsaber in her hand, and clipped it back to her waist. Fingers moving up to her left ear, she would send a message directly to Birdy.
"Birdy, I like it..." Aayla said, moving forward now as she had somewhat realigned her mind and body in the Force. Her Master wasn't here, but she wouldn't bring shame on him, or the order. "Listen, I need you to contact The Hammer immediately, inform command that there is another combatant here... A... Well, a force-user.. That much I know" Aayla said as her eyes scanned over a trio of downed B1 droids.

Outside of a full suit of Beskar armor, which from what she understood was about impossible to find these days, only a Jedi, or a Sith could dispatch this much droids at close range.
"Once you're done with that, I need you to clear this entire facility; there are rooms full of munitions and supplies that the separatists could do without. Take everything we can, set charges on the rest." Aayla said, taking her hand away from her ear, then perking her eyes up as she had remembered the most important thing "And keep an eye out for any further hostages, I'm pursuing our mystery target... Shan out"

The young commander pressed on, coming to a bend and almost gasping as she heard the sounds of blaster fire, and more interestingly; the glaring whine of a saber. Aayla broke into a sprint, running to the end of the hall, and into the intersection just as Ryv Ryv had made his joke, and struck down the last of the droids.

"STOP!" her voice was soothing, yet stern; clearly she wanted to sound authoritative, but simply lacked the baritone, or bark to really sell it. If he turned, he would note a pale girl standing there, about 5'9 or 5'10 due to her shoes. She wore a black ensemble, light armor, with an emphasis on light. Across her chest, a red robe tied across in a way to apply pressure across her breast, and wrapped around so as two small tails (each about six inches in length) hung from her back.

A green saber, that was the weapon of the Consular, not a Sith... Though, a saber was just a saber in the end, usable by any. Plus, the droids would attack anyone with a saber without question.

"A better question is what you're doing here, no one informed me another Jedi was tasked to Kudo Three" Aayla said, looking him over and making the quick realization she had never seen him in her life.

" Identify yourself..." Aayla said, her right hand hovering over her saber, which was still clipped to her waist.

In the middle of Commander Aayla Shan Aayla Shan instruction's to Birdy, as soon as the Force user mentioned clearing the facility, she heard a few blaster shots to her left, shot by her fellow comrade Tooka who spotted some battle droids heading towards the team from one of the lifts. "Copy that Commander Shan, contacting the The Hammer now," she quickly replied before signaling Tooka to cover her as she clicked a few button on her gauntlet to The Hammer. She then took a step back towards the building's large wall when few blaster shots from the droids wizzed by next to her shoulder; but despite the in coming action, the female clone kept herself calm and collected as she waited for her fellow allies to respond to her call.

"Birdy to The Hammer do you copy?" she said through her comm channel then waited a few seconds for a response.

The arrival of another flesh and blood person stole Ryv's attention from his work on the blast door. He turned to Aayla, brow perked at her meager attempt at authority. He smiled nonetheless. Aside from a dozen droids hellbent on slaughtering the kiffar, he was isolated in an unfamiliar place, fighting through corridor after corridor of hostile personnel. Her timely appearance meant, at least for a little while, he wasn't alone in the fight. At her statement, he stepped away from the door and withdrew his blade. The droid stumbled to the ground, alongside fragments of superheated durasteel.

"Kudo III, huh?" he looked her over, taking note of the lightsaber. "That's weird. I had no idea I'm wherever that is. Can't even take a nap back home without being shoved somewhere else entirely, unlucky."

Aayla's guarded figure brought a broad smile to the Jedi Knight's face.

"Relax, kid. Names Ryv, Ryv Karis. I'm a Jedi too. A confused Jedi, also sorta lost, but that's a problem for another time," he deactivated his saber and clipped it to his belt. "How bout you tell me what's going on so we can figure things out together? I wanna get back home to Coruscant, but I'm a little confused about what Confederacy forces are doing on a moon in the middle of nowhere. Haven't broken down that many droids in a while, forgot how fun it can be."

He took hold of his right shoulder with his left hand and slowly rotated his arm in a wide circle. His eyes widened once he got a good look at himself. Neither his jacket nor his armorweave bodysuit lined his frame. Instead, he wore the same jeans a tanktop he fell asleep in. Even his boots were missing. All Ryv could do was sigh and look back to Aayla.

"I can't say I know who you are. You got a name? I feel like you get tired of me calling you kid after a while, so we can skip over that and move on to greener pastures," he wandered closer to Aayla and held out a hand. "Handshake?" it transitioned into a fist. "Or are fistbumps more your style?"

The term kid absolutely caused Aayla to fold her arms across her chest, the nerve of him... She would remain silent however, listening to his explanation. He was telling the truth, as far as she could tell. It was deeper than his warm, and carefree attitude. She trusted in the Force, and his signature within was welcoming. Inviting even. Her eyes trailed down and blinked at his outstretched hand, watching it curl into a fist. Aayla locked eyes with him again, and offered up her own fist in response. A smirk adorning her features.

"Well..." Aayla started, pressing her own fist against his own. It was very strange to her, but somehow she felt at home near him. Like standing near one of the Masters, though he didn't seem so... Well... Stuck up? "My name is Aayla-Senn Shan... Commander, actually... Commander Shan. We're on a mission here to destroy this facility. Where are you from?" She asked, head canting slightly. he would notice the braid of a Padawan tied at the right side of her head, if such practices were even followed where, or when he was from, it would be telling.

The girls hand fell to her sides, both hands resting on her hips as she shifted her weight to one side.
"Coruscant, yeah of course... Except, I've never seen you at the temple." she admitted, looking at the door he was in the process of burning through. She felt as though she wanted to ask him questions, but couldn't figure out what they were. Instead, she remembered her mission. The Clones outside were risking themselves, so she couldn't waste too much time with getting him up to speed.

"In any case, we're headed back to Coruscant after this mission, so you're in luck... As far as what's going on right now, I'm looking for a group of hostages being held by these droids. Once we get them out of here, we can ash this place... Then I promise I'll get you back to Coruscant" Aayla said, sure her Master wouldn't have any problem with it.

With that, she approached the door he had just stepped away from. A few steps taken, and a simple wave of her hand to disengage the lock that the droid had activated. She didn't blame him of course, she had a lot of practice with that kind of stuff. Glancing back, she would nod at him, idly noting he wasn't wearing any shoes.

The hallway beyond was eerily empty, but there were several droids huddled around a group of Kudonians visible at end of the hallway. Most likely, it was some droid trap, but they would have to find out as the went.
"Shall we then, Ryv Karis?"

Birdy (CT-5387) Birdy (CT-5387)

There was a crackle of communications as Birdy contacted the Command Bridge, though the response came quickly, with much less concern for the feeling of those involved. "Report, Trooper" the unnamed Communications Officer stated, quickly adding "Where are all these hostages coming from, they weren't included in the mission briefing..." the Officer said, comms crackling out.

"Sir, Commander Shan came in contact with another Force-User in the facility." Birdy quickly replied as soon as she got ahold of the one of the Officers on board the Hammer. Tooka (CT-5292) Tooka (CT-5292) had already signal the team that the lift down the hall was clear and ready for them use as the team continued clearing the building of droids and looking for hostage. "Oh and about the hostage, Commander has ordered my team to evacuate as many hostage as we can from the building as we clear it from droids and any ammunition. Anyways, we'll need more shuttles down here as we find more personals." She was the last one to enter the lift before Tooka hit a button, causing the lift to ascend a few floors before stopping at a room full of battle droids guarding what looks to be a large production of explosives. "Oh kriff..." Birdy accidentally muttered in her comm before joining her team with taking out the droids.
