ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Advanced Maneuvering Thrusters - Like all FHP ships, the Kuartoza Raptor has unusually finely tuned and durable maneuvering thrusters giving it an ability to dodge and weave during a dogfight above and beyond most other ships of it's size, especially given it's speed.
STRENGTHS
  • Maneuverable - Despite it's speed, it also maintains a strong ability to dodge and roll, even when moving at it's maximum speed. This lets it shift it's heading suddenly, even when operating at high speeds.
  • Bomber Breaker - Between it's high speed, high maneuvrability, and it's armament, the Kuartoza Raptor has found it's niche not in intercepting fighters, but in breaking bombers, especially as it's ion complement makes it good at shattering the shields most bombers have, exposing them to laser fire much sooner.

WEAKNESSES
  • Shield Reliance - The Defenses of the Kurtoza Raptor are lighter than most other Starfighters, and while it's armor is better than nothing, it relies mostly on it's shield, meaning that if stunned with Ion or the shield generator is taken offline, it is left barely better than a sitting duck.
  • Outnumbered - Due to the small squadron size of the Kuartoza Raptor, it is more often than not outnumbered by it's contemporaries, compounding it's fragility.

DESCRIPTION
With the release of their bomber line, FHP turned it's attention to filling another major role, the humble interceptor. For FHP, given it's product line thus far have all been agile by the standards of their combat role, an interceptor was a no brainer. That was where the simple ended, and the problems began. From it's inception the Kuartoza has been a thorn in the side of the company. Feuding deigners sabatoging each others proposals, miscalculations resulting in failed prototypes, and even intentionally flawed designs to hamper the companies growth from employees paid off by rivals. It took seven prototypes, several firings, and at least one person being disappeared for the company to end the project entirely, putting the 7th model into production despite most of it's (now cooperating) designers agreeing it wasn't ready yet.

That said, it proved them wrong given how it's performed in tests so far. Fast, nimble, and making good use of company products, it's only major flaws have been that even for an interceptor, already usually fielded in low numbers compared to versatile fighters, it was fragile. Further it was only tested and soldfor eight ship squadrons, the company standard as it promoted quality over quantity in all things. Still, despite it's troubled creation, inital production and sales have been good, and it's ability to cripple enemy bomber squadrons has found it a niche even where outcompeted or outgunned by it's peers. While not expected to be as popular as their more versatile Errubi, FHP is overall satasfied with the Kuartoza in it's current form, evne if they'd rather it's path to production had been less...contentious.

With the completion of the Kuartoza, rounding out the typical carrier trio, a debate has begun in the company on whether to start producing civillian and military freighter designs, or move to gunships. All of this while it has begun contruction of a shipyard that will allow it to begin building larger vessels, as it's eyes turn upward, and it's shadowy owner prepares for the expansion of her military might. For now though, the Kuartoza has cemented FHP as being a staple of the ever chaotic outer rim, and a clear favorite of mercenaries looking for quality but readily available ships.
