OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create the first headquarters of Clan Kryst and the starting industrial center for Clan Krysts companies, later to become a general space station for a Kryst Settlement

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Space Station Name: Kryst Station 'Balac'
  • Station Model: CorelliSpace XQQ5-series Outpost Platform
  • Classification: Transfer/Transit Station (Transport Hub)
  • Location: Low Giaca Orbit
  • Affiliation: Clan Kryst, Death Watch Crusade
  • Population: Moderate
  • Demographics: Primarily Mandalorians (Mainly Human)
  • Accessibility: No means of stealth is used, but it has very limited security. Primary defense consists of local defenders; shuttles, fighters, frigates, excluding its own self-defense armaments. Any larger defense is provided by Death Watch Crusade.
  • Traffic: Low - This station gets transport shuttles and cargo, import and export.
  • Description: Balac is used like an "inbetween station" for passengers and cargo, transporting people and cargo to and from the ground of Giaca. Although more often than not, it's used to import cargo from the more industrial systems and export resources mined from Giaca. Its warehouses don't have a large amount of foodstuffs in storage, keeping them open for transferring cargo, so it's not meant to be lived on.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Registration Center - For Personnel and Cargo registration, logging hours, names, and other information. Would normally be used to comply with local government regulations, but is only offered to Death Watch Crusade. It is also the managerial center of the station, which is convenient as those who board must pass this location.
  • Temporary Housing - With less than a hundred rooms with two beds, these rooms are available for at most a week. Provisions are usually carried by those needing the space but there are occasional vendors.
  • Lower Section - The very bottom deck is utilized as a "long-term" vendor section, where Merchants are known to set up shops for whatever items they choose to sell. Even with being a fringe space station and under a technically lawless organization, Mandalorians are known to be honorable and respectful so long as they are greeted in kind.

SECURITY
Maximum
- The Security level is representative of the stations standard armament and shielding, however onboard security is significantly different. Other than some weapons officers and gunner specialists, onboard security is typically maintained by average-trained Mandalorians. They usually only inhabit the lower section and a bit more frequently around the temporary housing units, but it depends on the time of day. Typically, management areas have limited security personnel since they have confidence in the hardware; code locked doors and cameras. Pilots for local defense are representative of the stations standard strike craft complement, which consists of Mk IV Fang Starfighters.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
This station was manufactured by CorelliSpace, while Scar Berenk (alias of Milla Kryst) was pseudo-employed (given ownership of a vessel by CorelliSpace in agreement for job contracts), who was able to obviously see CorelliSpace products, but able to seek out their finished status and locations. This particular station was claimed during the shy end of its final production status, in some not-so-legal procedures. This was after the Scar Berenk alias was dropped and the new mask was put on, posing as a new alias and giving her chance to not be recognized, especially utilizing the stereotype of Mandalorians never remove their helmet. While some do, it's not often as practiced amongst some in Death Watch Crusade. With Milla in the lead, she was supported by a few small groups of Death Watch Crusade and some who had joined Clan Kryst in the capture of this station. Although this criminal act was committed, with Milla out of government-controlled space and with the backing of Death Watch Crusade, only bounty hunters could come for her. But she still opts to work with CorelliSpace, keeping her word to fulfill contracts to pay off the ship she was given, but ultimately find a compromise for the debt of stealing the station.

The stations initial plan was a base of operations for Clan Kryst, but it would also become the primary transit station for the Kryst Colony when it is fully established. Giving a location for Kryst Companies to import and export necessary resources and products. It also serves as the only major defense for the Kryst Colony and company operations on the planet, as the colony has no plans nor the funds to create military bases and launch pads for fighters.
