SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Ornamented human bone (ancient Jedi skull)
  • Modified corpse vision spell gives the wearer a sense of any given person's kill count
STRENGTHS
  • Alchemised for extreme durability against standard weapons and lightsabers.
  • Provides excellent facial protection, particularly the lower face.
  • Allows the wearer to catch glimpses of roughly how many people the person they're looking at has killed. For example, the average Jedi Master would appear surrounded by vague, tenuous glimpses of hundreds of dead people — Sith troops, enemy ship crews, etc. For some Sith Lords and politicians, you'd get a sense of billions.
  • To avoid visual clutter, the wearer can stop seeing the corpse visions by looking away from the other person. Seeing these glimpses requires focusing on the person in question.
WEAKNESSES
  • Provides no protection against sonic weapons.
  • Provides no protection against heat or cold.
  • Provides no protection against a descending strike.
  • Provides no protection against a stab to the eyes.
  • Ysalamiri and other Force suppression will prevent the wearer from seeing the glimpses of the dead. Likewise, these visions do not occur when the person the wearer's looking at is in a ysalamir field.
  • Looking at a genocide perpetrator could be extremely distracting.
DESCRIPTION
These masks were highly prized by ancient Krath devotees (e.g. Krath Death Witches), who had them fashioned from the skulls of the Jedi they killed in battle. That was almost five thousand years ago. In the intervening millennia, Krath Omensight Masks have become vanishingly rare courtesy of Jedi eradication and Palpatine's taste for collectibles. Very few genuine Omensight Masks still exist, mostly in the hands of collectors.

One such collector is Lord Azel Moran, the alchemist. He acquired a couple of these masks in the 850s and, after learning all he can from them, has often used them as teaching tools and exemplars for original work. Senior alchemy students aboard the Pomojema sometimes attempt to replicate these masks, but replicas always fail to capture a certain something about them. As dark side collectibles go, Krath Omensight Masks are some of the rarest and most irreplaceable.
