Shriekers
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: Because I thought about combining Chocobos with the Terror Birds from ARK, and figured why not, why not make a new brand of terror chickens.

- Name: Korravian Shriekbeast (also: Shriekers, Shriek Raptors)
- Designation: Semi-sentient (Alphas may verge on full sentience)
- Origins: Valrar – Sithspawn experimentation chamber of Lucette Raaf
- Average Lifespan: 8–15 standard years
- Estimated Population: Rare (Controlled populations on Valrar; sometimes deployed off-world)
- Description: Feathered Sithspawn predators resembling a fusion of a variety of different birds and reptiles, Korravian Shriekbeasts are bred for terror and efficiency. With sharp hooked beaks, black-iridescent feathers, and enhanced alchemical sensory organs, they hunt Force-sensitives across jungle terrain or warzones. Too small to be used as mounts, but terrifying in packs, they are known for Force-disrupting shrieks, mimicry of voices, and psychological warfare.
- Breathes: Type I (Standard atmosphere)
- Average Height of Adults: 1.4 meters at shoulder
- Average Length of Adults: 2.2 meters
- Skin Color: Black, grey (under feathers)
- Hair/Fur/Feather Color: Iridescent black with violet-blue sheen; some show red-tipped primary feathers
- Distinctions:
- Large hooked beak with serrated ridges
- Feathered arms and long, powerful legs with alchemized talons
- Gold or pale eyes, often glowing faintly in low light
- Force-sensitive scent organ beneath beak to track Force signatures
- Subtypes include armored variants and cybernetic survivors
- Races: N/A - While they do not have biological races, certain Shriekbeasts evolve or are developed into distinct castes or specialized subtypes based on environment, trauma, or alchemical intervention
- Force Sensitivity: Low (enhanced perception and reaction through alchemy, not traditional sensitivity)
- Force Disruption: Their shriek causes pain/disorientation in Force-users and interferes with concentration.
- Psychological Warfare: Can mimic voices, evoke trauma, and induce fear/nightmares through Force resonance.
- Light Sensitivity: Intense light or high-energy photonic exposure disrupts their senses.
- Fragile Alone: Without pack coordination or Alpha guidance, they become erratic and more easily defeated.
- Diet: Carnivore – prefers fresh kills, often those of Force-sensitives; can digest Sith alchemical feedstock
- Communication: Screeches, rattles, low telepathic resonance among bonded broods. Can mimic speech or distress calls with chilling precision.
- Technology Level: None (used by Sith handlers who provide armor, tracking, or neural links)
- Religion/Beliefs: No known belief system, though different broods exhibit different ritualistic behavior (e.g. clawing Sith sigils, arranging bones)
- General Behavior:
- Pack-oriented hunters with clear caste roles
- Alphas demonstrate battlefield command behavior
- Nocturnal ambush predators; prefer shadowed, jungle, or low-visibility environments
- Broods raise young communally in heavily guarded sanctums (e.g. Lucette's Valrari vaults)
- Blackfeathered Brood are known to perform symbolic gestures like circling the dead or "singing" over fallen prey [This is Lucette’s specific clutch]
The Korravian Shriekbeast was developed by Lucette Raaf, Sith biomancer and granddaughter of Taeli Raaf, on the alchemically saturated world of Valrar. Inspired by birds, reptiles and predator species, Lucette created the Shriekers through alchemical crossbreeding, dark rituals, and neural imprinting technology.
Originally designed as Force-user deterrents and temple guardians, Shriekbeasts proved particularly effective in anti-Jedi operations. Their ability to disorient Lightsiders, mimic human voices, and induce fear became a signature of Lucette's warfare doctrine.
The most infamous variant, the Blackfeathered Brood, is bonded directly to Lucette through blood alchemy. They are semi-sentient, terrifyingly intelligent, and known to recall personal memories of their prey. When destroyed, Lucette's forces recover their bodies and rebuild them into cybernetic horrors known as the Korravian Reforged. These reborn monsters are even more dangerous, often more erratic, and serve as living war trophies.
Reports from Jedi survivors mention "singing birds with dead men’s voices" and eyes that shimmer with intent. The species has earned the nickname Valrar's Curse and is considered one of the most dangerous Force-hunting Sithspawn known to the Order.
