Koros Spaceworks

Corporation Name: Koros Spaceworks
Headquarters: Cinnegar, Empress Teta
Locations: Empress Teta,
Operations: Shipbuilding, Starship Components
Rationale: Koros Spaceworks was, thousands of years ago, a successful shipbuilding company employed by the planet for which it was named. It fueled the military might for the people of Koros Major, known now as Empress Teta, for several thousand years to come, only to eventually fade away from public eye as the corporate giants of the Shipbuilding industry forced them to operate almost exclusively on Teta. Names such as Rendili, Santhe, and Kuat are all but household names now, but companies of the past that played extremely important roles during the times of the old Sith Empire and the successive Brotherhood of the Sith were all but forgotten by all but a few. It was fortunate for the starship manufacturer that during the time of Aleema and Satal Keto, and later their descendant Sebban Keto, the organization and secret society known as the Krath had kept the business afloat as a front for many of their operations. Although the company has since passed on to hands outside of the descendants to the legendary Empress Teta the Krath continued to keep the business afloat until the great Gulag Plague, wherein the company and the majority of the galaxy faced a massive set-back not only in technology but also societal patterns. It was not until the tail end of the virus that the Krath had began their return, with a primary focus on money laundering.

Koros thus saw a minor revival, a new company taking its name in the early 800's ABY, although it was hardly significant, unlike the titans of the current era. More recently, as recent as 840 ABY or even earlier, the Krath had begun undermining the One Sith rule over the planet. The puppet leader of Empress Teta was easily seduced with temptations of permanent office and favors from the corrupt corporate portion of Cinnegar, which was ran primarily by the Krath with little influence from the Sith, whom had taken a hands-off approach to the economy and corporations of their various core worlds. This had gone a step too far following the events of the Netherworld and Akala's brief reign of terror over the galaxy at large, during which the Krath infiltrated much of the government in a similar way to their origins with a similar degree of influence, only with much less credits for their backing. Koros, inversely, continued to suffer while the secret society that used it thrived. This changed soon afterwards following an intervention led by Silara and Alric Kuhn of the Krath Headquarters - the Iron Citadel, center of all government holdings on Empress Teta. With the assistance of the Sons of Titan, Silara and Alric were able to put down the leader of the secret society, only to replace the deceased leader with the woman who had suffered at the hands of the organization - Silara Kuhn. Rather than focus on the petty organized crime that the Krath had been indulging themselves in for decades prior, Silara saw hope for the aged Koros Spaceworks, and set forth to focus on building it up with some assistance from her husband, Alric Kuhn. Ownership has since passed to their twins, Lily and Rose Kuhn, after the presumed death of Silara Kuhn with the company split evenly between the two of them as per stated in her will.

Nearly a decade later saw the untimely passing of Lily Kuhn and the transfer of her shares in the company to her close friend and confidante, Nadja Keto. This was dictated in her will as a temporary custodianship until Lily's son, Jaivant, were to reach adulthood in the instance of her passing before that point - which, unfortunately, was the case.

Ownership: 50% Nadja Keto, 50% Rose Kuhn

Description:

A company that focuses most, if not all, of its efforts on the building of starships ranging from small starfighters and civilian crafts to larger capital ships, Koros Spaceworks is the company that is used as a front by the Krath of Empress Teta. Their products tend to be constructed with heavy armored hulls, appearing larger and more daunting than the norm while also being more sleek and streamlined than usual. The planet operates out of the shipbuilding foundries located on Empress Teta, just outside of Cinnegar on the southern hemisphere. Koros is often unheard of in modern society, having faded from memory as late as 500 BBY, but for those on Empress Teta or enthusiasts of an older era know it for its extremely durable and reliable starships, especially of the capital variant.

Previously owned and led by Eren Jan, a mobster-esque member of the corporate elite and former leader of the Krath, Koros Spaceworks fell into the hands of Silara Kuhn, wife of business titan Alric Kuhn. Her role as a Sith Lord and important figure in the One Sith hierarchy afforded her not only the means to take control of the company, but also to control much of the planet herself. As such Koros Spaceworks built primarily for the One Sith, although they do sell to the majority of the galaxy as well, being discriminant in payment authorizations rather than following strict loyalties. The company remains to be a private enterprise with shares inaccessible to the public, all investing must go through Misses Kuhn or her assistant, Leena Haven, prior to authorization. All employees of Koros Spaceworks are given access to company insurance after six months of employment, and a retirement plan after ten years.

Following the disappearances of Alric and Silara Kuhn, and their presumed deaths after an announcement by the Yuuzhan Vong that the former was assassinated with friends and family, a will left behind by Silara Kuhn has made explicit mention that the company would be left in a joint ownership with equal shares between Lily and Rose Kuhn which has spurred the company into an entirely new generation of ownership.

Subsidiaries: None
