Klytiss Dai began his life in chains. For so many millenia, his people were enslaved to the Hutts. They are the proud Nikto of Kintan, and Klytiss descended particularly from the Red Nikto subspecies born of the deserts. But it was not Kintan's desert badlands where Klytiss was born, but rather the Hutt colony of Nar Kanji.
His father, father's father, and so on were long time members of Vosadii kajidic's Nikto Guard. His mother, on the other hand, worked in the kitchens of the Hutt's Palace. As a male, it was expected of Klytiss to follow in the footsteps of his patrilineal line. For years, he trained under the tutelage of his father, uncles, and other kinsmen serving in the Guard. Klytiss soon became a prime specimen for a warrior.
Unfortunately, this drew the attention
of a Vosadii family member named Duleuga. The female Hutt had always been fascinated with the art of combat, even fashioning herself after the ancient Hutt battle masters. Rather than inducting Klytiss into the Nikto guard, she instead chose him as her champion for her beloved gladiatorial matches.
For years, he fought and won as a gladiator on Loorvia. Yet, he longed for more out of his life than being a simple fighter. Klytiss longed for something few Nikto ever received: freedom. His mistress got wind of this, and decided to water with him. One-hundred straight victories in the arena, and she would free him.
Such was Klytiss' determination that he put all his effort into the wager. With ferocity, he won ninety-nine contests. What he did not expect was his final challenger: Duleuga herself. Undeterred, Klytiss fought with all that he had against the warrior Hutt. But, in the end, she exhausted him and held a blade to his throat. However, the unexpected happened, as Duleuga did not kill him but granted his freedom. She was impressed by his tenacity and warrior spirit, and thus felt that was merit enough.
He was sent off with his freedom, and enough credits to get on his feet. Klytiss soon used his talents as a gladiator to enter the bounty hunting scene. While not as well known or from a prodigious legacy, he at least knows that he lives with the freedom to live his own life as he chooses.

- Fighter: Having spent most of his life as a gladiator, Klytiss as well versed in how to fight. He has learned how to take down enemies with his own hands, and how to be lethal with a blaster.
- Desert Survivor: As a Red Nikto, Klytiss' ancestors evolved in the blistering deserts of Kintan. As such, his biology is apt at filtering sand, retaining moisture, and withstanding arid conditions.

- Anti-Hutt: Aside from Duleuga, Klytiss will never willingly work with a Hutt. He would see it as a betrayal of his people, who have lived for millennia under the thumb of the Hutts. He only considers Duleuga the exception for giving his freedom.
- Chain Breaker: Having been born into slavery, Klytiss does not tolerate it as a free being. He will not take any assignments involving slavers, unless it is to rescue from or beat them. He will also try to free slaves if the situation allows for it.
- Honors No Flag: After being granted freedom, Klytiss does not feel he owes allegiance to any particular government. He is not totally disrespectful of the law, but he will not join them. What allegiances he has are the tentative alliances and friendships he's made in the bounty hunting circles.
