  • Structure Name: Kitakami (Insert World Name)
  • Classification: Hotel
  • Locations:
  • Affiliation: Kitakami Hotel Corporation
  • Accessibility: Often located in the trendiest, busiest, or wealthiest districts of a city. Kitakami hotels make it their purpose to stand out in the skyline, with bright flood lights illuminating the sides and roof of the tower at night, and their largely glass exteriors reflecting the sun's rays in the day. It would be hard not to find one of these hotels, even in crowded cities. Large areas surrounding the hotels are typically purchased in-order to make room for gardens, courtyards and parking space for the hotel's many guests, allowing easy access by air or land. While the hotel's front facing lobby entrance is the primary point of entry into the building, the lobby and waiting area is open to the public, however anything outside the lobby is strictly for paying customers only, including other facilities on the first floor, such as the restaurants and bars that are within the lobby's line of sight.
  • Description: Consisting of a single, tall building. Kitakami hotels can vary greatly in height, depending on the world, the Kitakami Coruscant for example stands at around eight hundred storeys tall, while the Kitakami Naboo stands at only one hundred and fifty. This is due to a combination of levels of customer demand in a location, and external regulations. A pair of sliding transparisteel doors connect the hotel's surrounding plaza with the lobby entrance, while the hotel itself is for the most part covered in transparisteel windows, with strong durasteel intersections being visible between them. Built somewhat triangularly, the hotel gets somewhat slimmer the taller it goes, a golden Kitakami logo on the front-facing side of the building is illuminated at night, as well as the sides of the building by large floodlights installed at the rims of the structure's base.

First Floor Lobby: What guests will first be greeted with when entering any Kitakami hotel, the first floor lobby is a relatively large room beautifully decorated in a mixed style, with traditional Onami-chi and modern Core World designs. Very minimalist, the lobby's design is intended to project the overall establishment's tastes, namely that of being impressively modern, sleek, and in style. Sitting areas with imported designer brand leather sofas, accompanied by wall-mounted flatscreens tuned to a variety of different channels await guests who are waiting to be checked in, while the lobby desk itself is staffed by dozens of individuals, depending on the size of the hotel, all well-dressed and groomed as per their job requirements. Exotic flora also decorates parts of the lobby.

Wayfield Restaurant: Located on the hotel's expansive first floor, far behind the lobby and well out of sight, hidden behind a series of walls as to ensure no disruption to the diners. Wayfield is a five star fine dining establishment contracted by Kitakami to setup their restaurants in each of their locations. Designed like much of the rest of the hotel in a sleek hyper-modern aesthetic, it serves a wide variety of dishes, ranging from traditional Naboo meals to in-house made Corellian-inspired platters. It is largely comprised of two to four seat tables, but a small number of booths are also available to diners. The menu here is incredibly expensive, and the restaurant is openly open for dinner, as the staff spend most of the day preparing for this.

Ether Bar: To be found on the second floor, the Ether chain of bars is a Kitakami-exclusive establishment, only present in Kitakami hotels. Decorated with a plethora of aesthetically pleasing LED light rims underneath the tables, and seats. Bamboo bushes imported from Onami Prime fill in the spaces between the large, golden-colored but cushioned boothes that most patrons spend their time in. The bar itself has a number of stools to be sat in, but patrons can order drinks to be brought to them from their boothes regardless. Some of the galaxy's most exotic drinks and cocktails can be bought here, anything from Soulean Brandy to KyLessian Fruit, in-house drink synthicators ensure that anything a customer desires can be produced.

Fitness Center: Usually anywhere in-between the 10th and 20th floors, the exact floor of the Fitness Center differs depending on the branch. Filled with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, and staffed by both veteran personal trainers as well as the newest exercise droids, this blindingly white floor can host as many as several hundred health enthusiasts at any one time. Complimentary water is available at all times, though special requests must be made beforehand for unique species-dependant dietary requirements. Twenty four hour access to the fitness center comes freely with any room purchase.

Valet Parking: Outside the hotel itself, the facility's large parking spaces are located within the plaza that surrounds the building. Before even entering the hotel, guests will be pleasantly welcomed with complimentary valet parking, with no tips required, and stunning views of the many tended gardens and courtyards that can be seen from the parking lot. Your speeder, or other method of transportation will be taken to the hotel's underground parking facility, until it is called back up.

Underground Parking Complex: As the name suggests, it is beneath the very hotel itself. Comprised of anywhere from ten to fifty levels, these complexes are defended by extremely vigilant degrees of cyber security, as well as physical security in the form of guards, sensors and cameras, as the speeders within these lots can be worth vast amounts of credits. Again, depending on the hotel, these concrete monoliths, which few guests ever see, as their speeders are brought to them by hotel staff, could potentially hold thousands of speeders at once.

Security Offices: Hidden away from the sight of guests, the hotel's security offices, staffed by Nakaioma Security Services personnel, are based near the top of the building. Housing the hotel's camera control headquarters, it is here where the building's many guards rest and work from. Weapon storages contain everything from stun batons to rail-propelled assault rifles, encrypted communications ensure a large degree of protection from splicing and sabotage to the hotel's communications infrastructure, and a direct connection with the local planetary authorities can be utilized in the event of a crisis at the hotel.

Diamond Penthouse Suite: At the top of the skyscraper hotel sits its most expensive accommodation, the Diamond Penthouse Suite is a truly massive residence, with panoramic views of any city it is located in, immensely expensive, imported furniture made from only the finest materials, room for up to twelve guests, two room-specific security guards and a custom-designed king-sized bed located in separate rooms. A kitchen with a personal chef and butler, a wall-spanning transparent smartscreen television with a powerful HoloNet connection, an in-house bar with complimentary drinks and bartender, and a dining room. It also features a fireplace, planet-specific paintings from famous native artists to decorate the walls, handcrafted fabrics that comprise the beds, sofas and seats, rare Atrisian woods, exotic flora, four balconies and a Phrik-tiled master bathroom of all things.

Corporate Center: Tailored for both smaller businesses, and galactic conglomerates. These floors can be found near the middle of the skyscraper, and are composed of a number of large and small conference rooms, decorated with traditional Onami-chi architecture and styled Coruscanti inspired designs. A number of different designs exist, to suit every kind of meeting and business style, ranging from lecture halls, to more conventional, long-tables with accompanying seats, to open-spaced standing arrangements even. Both business, and leisure can be conducted here, and many visiting corporations tend to do both, engaging in business during the day, and returning for elaborate parties at night.

Rooftop Landing Pad: Exclusive to corporate officials, high-profile visitors and very well paying customers, the rooftop landing pad can accommodate four shuttles at a time and maintains a repulsorlift elevator connection that links the landing pads up to the rest of the hotel, allowing those who arrive via this route the ability to go directly to their rooms, or anywhere else in the hotel. The Kitakami logo emblazons each of the four landing pads, and landing lights guide incoming craft down for safe approaches. Any guest who purchases the Diamond Penthouse Suite receives complimentary access to the rooftop landing pad.

Sauna Rooms: A few floors above the Fitness Center usually, the steam rooms are modest wooden-built saunas that can each comfortably house ten or so individuals at a time. When entering, there are male and female exclusive options available, with accompanying changing rooms and showers also present.

The Terrace Bar and Restaurant: Literal in its naming, this mixed purpose restaurant and bar also serves a third function as a cafe during the day hours. Found on the large open terrace, on-top of the hotel's smaller building component roof, diners are protected by transparisteel windows and fences. Served by four and five star chefs, it is a less costly-- but still impressive-- alternative to the Wayfield Restaurant and Ether Bar on the first floor. Stunning views of the local vista can be enjoyed by diners here as they choose from a wide selection of galactic-spanning meals and beverages, suitable for both lunch and dinner.

Royal Gardens: Surrounding the hotel, the Royal Gardens is the name given to the collection of courtyards and plazas that encompass the exterior of the building. They ensure a comfortable buffer zone between the hotel and surrounding skyscrapers to grant guests nicer views of their surroundings, as well as provide the establishment with an air of exclusivity. The Royal Gardens themselves are well taken care of and decorated with flora from all over the galaxy, neatly separated into distinct sections and labelled for guests to read. Water fountains, statues, sitting areas and ponds with a collection of aquatic species can also be found here. They are right next to the Valet Parking area.

Aqua Center: Dependant on the size of the hotel, there can be as many as several aqua centers scattered throughout the skyscraper's many floors. Catering to those with marine tastes for enjoyment, these 'aqua centers' are where the hotel's many swimming pools and hot tubs can be located. For both exercise and leisure, the hotel offers specialized training lessons and personal trainers for those looking to work on their personal health, physique, or simple skill in the water. While those simply looking for a good time have their own pools and hot tubs to entertain themselves with for as long as they please. All guests have twenty four hour access to the aqua centers. Showering and changing rooms are present for every center, while inflatable toys and other equipment can be gifted to families, and guests with children.

Premiere Art Exhibit: A conventional art gallery with modern aesthetics, each gallery differs its contents depending on the world the hotel is based on. With the Kitakami Commenor providing many Commenor-exclusive, and Silver Jedi-related exhibits, and the Kitakami Skako offering unique Skakoan cultural pieces. It is here in these beautifully designed halls that guests can truly experience what the native culture of the planet they are visiting, or are from, has to offer. Many of the pieces in these halls have been purchased for immense prices, and are under strict security.

Kitakami Spas: Exclusive to Kitakami hotels, these spas encompass an entire floor, and in the larger hotels, such as the Kitakami Coruscant, can expand over several or more floors. Staffed by a combination of skilled organic staff, and state-of-the-art relaxation droids. These spas are often close to the hotel's sauna rooms and fitness center, and utilize practices from across the galaxy to best please each individual guest. Although open twenty four hours to all guests, the option to pay, and receive a private room and longer sessions is available.

The Harriett Galactic: The culinary counterpart to the Premium Art Exhibit halls, each Harriett restaurant in each Kitakami hotel is unique, based on its world of origin. The Kitakami Atrisia serves specialized Atrisian dishes prepared by a famous Atrisian chef, while the Kitakami Kashyyyk serves meals taken from Wookie culture, prepared by a famous (Vetted and hygienic-certified) Wookie chef. The physical layout and architectural design of each Harriett restaurant also differs depending on the world, it is often said that the Kitakami Naboo is among the most beautiful restaurants in the galaxy, for this reason. Each Harriett is a five star culinary experience, and can be found on the hotel's upper floors.

Infinity Bar: On the vertically opposing end of the hotel, the Infinity Bar is located near the top of the building, described as boasting powerful panoramic views of incredible vistas, if patrons are still sober enough to appreciate the view that is. Providing much of the same services as the Ether Bar, the primary differences are aesthetics, with the Infinity Bar offering more localized designs, much like the Harriett Galactic restaurants.

Platinum Suites: Second only to the Diamond Penthouse Suite, the Platinum Suites are largely spread throughout the hotel's upper floors. They offer a large bedroom, with a king size bed, a master bathroom, in-house kitchen and beautiful vista views from the wall-spanning polished transparisteel windows. They are well-decorated with rare furnishings and flora, and are part of the Premium Club, granting exclusive, superior and faster room service that is unavailable to other guests in the hotel, but of course must be shared between other Premium Suite guests. All suites contain additional services which can be included for extra fees.

Ruby Suites: Third in line are the Ruby Suites, largely similar to the Platinum Suites, but lower in the hotel, and without the Premium Club services. They are still impressive and terribly comfortable and luxurious rooms, needless to say. The third room option for the galaxy's richest is still unbelievably luxurious to the average person, after all. Ruby Suites do have the advantage of usually being the closest rooms to many of the hotel's amenities, such as the various restaurants, bars and physical activities in the hotel's middle section.

Azure Suites: Making up the majority of the hotel's floor space, the Azure Suites are the standard rooms of any Kitakami hotel. They are comparatively small, but still spacious rooms. Comprised of a single, open-floor bedroom connected to an impromptu living area with a smartscreen holotelevision, they come with a smaller kitchen in the corner of the room, and utilize the hotel's standard room service package. These suites can fit either a single king-sized bed or two double beds.

High: Given the elite, or simply wealthy and well-paying clientele that Kitakami hotels cater towards, no stops have been pulled in regards to the security of any location. Provided by Nakaioma Security Services, each hotel is littered with a wide array of lifeform scanners, thermal imaging cameras, motion and metal detectors. All Kitakami hotels come built with blast shields, and doors, which can be activated and used to lock down the hotel in the event of a catastrophic attack, or natural disaster, and durable, secretive panic rooms are available for guests to flee to in these kinds of scenarios. All internal communications are secured with Tokai-series biohexacryption modules and network intrusion countermeasure programs, ensuring a large degree of security from splicers and those looking to disrupt or listen in on private communications. In terms of physical security, a sizable detachment of Security Enforcers are based out of each hotel's security offices, although the majority of the hotel's security personnel are comprised of suited Security Officers, due to the hotel's reputation. The external hotel grounds are secured with walls and electrified fences, and each hotel maintains a direct link to local authorities. Employees are vetted through a multi-layer process before approval.

The primary physical assets of the Kitakami Hotel Corporation. These buildings, at least in their ideas, have existed as long as the company itself has existed. Of course they have not existed in the same shape or even locations for the same amount of time, as that would have been centuries. The physical hotels that one can find throughout the galaxy today have only recently appeared, replacing the prior, now 'outdated' model of standardized hotel design that came before them, which itself replaced the 'outdated' model that came before it, and so forth. There has never really been any particular timeline behind the replacement of these hotels, whether that be tearing the old ones down and replacing them with the new ones on the same site, or simply abandoning the old ones and finding a new, more advantageous site altogether. It has more been a process of opinion on where the times are headed. Throughout the Gulag outbreak, and subsequent Four Hundred Year Darkness, these hotels were best used as proto-military bases and refugee camps by the NAKAIOMA Corporation, as they were required for little else during this grave time.

Following those dark centuries however, they have returned to their original purpose better than ever before. Catering specifically to the rich and influential of the galaxy, the hotels are not 'old guard' hotels, despite their reputation for luxury, in the sense that they are not particularly snobby. They will accept anyone who has the credits to pay for a room, and provide them with just as much service as an individual from a millennia-old family. This is well-suited to the hotels' more modern approach to things. The current, largely transparisteel incarnations of the hotels came about several years ago, during the start of Saro Nakaioma's reign as Chief Executive Officer of NAKAIOMA, and by extent, Kitakami as well. The old hotels, which shared generally the same shape as the current ones, were redesigned from the ground up, to the appearance that they now have. Today, these buildings make prestigious additions to any city's skyline, indicating a sense of importance, wealth, or beauty to them. They have become synonymous throughout the galactic elite with luxury, discretion and a good time, if a celebrity wishes to have their affair in secret, a Kitakami hotel is typically the best place to do so, corporate executives looking to negotiate a trillion credit deal? Kitakami. Head of state looking for a neutral, but respectable middle ground? Kitakami.
