· Verena City – The political and economic capital of Kirima is Verena City. Most of the planet’s corperate headquarters are located within the city, and it boasts a large number of manufacturing districts. Additionally, the city has the largest star port and is home to the planetary government.
· Jael City – Jael City is the manufacturing hub for the planet’s western continent. It is three-fourths the size of Verena City, and growing. It has a higher number of universities than the planet’s capitol, which it gives the area a higher number of skilled laborers.
· Shamd City – Shamd city is Kirima’s oldest settlement and the home of the royal family. Despite no longer being the capitol, the city often host diplomatic events. Its architectural is much older than Verena and Jeal, and there are few of the large factories. The local universities focus more on arts and humanities than engineering and science.

Culture: Kirima is a quiet planet, which rarely makes waves on a galactic level. They trend towards isolationism and pacifism. There is a strong sense of community, even between the planet’s varied races. It has no sports teams that compete on a galactic level, but has been the home of its fair share of athletes. There is no official state religion, but any faith that does no harm others is welcome.
Technology: Highly technological
History:
“Kirima was the lone habitable planet in the Kalinda system, on the Enarc Run. It was discovered by Jak Kalinda, who named it for his mother, Kirima Kalinda. The planet had plenty of natural resources, and was colonized shortly after its discovery. The capital of Kirima was Verena City. The local monarchy dwelt in Shamd City.”

After its original settlement the planet was ruled by members of the Kalinda family. They wielded absolute power over the population, but it was hard gain any economic or political standing without being closely aligned to the monarchy. This eventually caused unrest and rebellion. The Kalinda monarchy was overthrown and replaced by their near relatives the Avoyos, who agreed to limit their power. Elected representatives were chosen to create new laws, and the monarchs acted as arbiters and diplomats.

On the whole Kirima has tried to maintain an isolated neutrality. They have avoided long standing membership in outside governments, but maintain friendly diplomatic relations with most of their neighbors. It will never be a political power house, but Kirima has never been a planet that aspired to do more than quietly prosper. Like the rest of the galaxy, Kirima was devastated by the gulag plague. In the long term, the disease caused a shift in racial demographics, and the total population has yet to reach pre-disease levels. The current queen, Mileena, came to power in 814, and she bore an heir four years later.

In 823 Kirima was conquered by a Sith Fleet under the command of Vilox Pazela. The occupation lasted almost a decade, but in time independence was restored The mass disappearance of billions of people across the galaxy in 844 ABY lowered the population further. They are recovering, slowly, but there is some concern that the recent disappearances have dangerously lowered the pool of potential employees. To compensate, and to encourage future economic growth, the government has been encouraging immigration to Kirima.
Notable PCs: Kara Avoyos
Intent: There isn’t much about this planet in canon. I wanted to expand on its history so that Kara’s family could have a little historical grounding. It will open up plot opportunities in case the planet is taken over in a dominion.
