SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Miniaturized Energy Management Core – provides clean, waveform-stabilized power to non-reactor ships
  • Canarocite Phase Cycling – handles sudden draw from capacitor systems or plasma-fed modules
  • Passive ElectroFrost Plasma Syncing – channels Skyquake/Howlback exhaust into onboard power grid
  • Arbalest Capacitor Integration – supports burst-fed energy weapons or shield recharge pulses
  • CIHR-Lite Tuning Module – stabilizes energy harmonics in high-stress maneuvers
  • Self-Contained, No Fuel Core – crystal-fed only; not reliant on hypermatter
STRENGTHS
  • Compact Supplemental Power for strike craft, fighters, and stealth bombers
  • ElectroFrost Compatible – stabilizes energy from crystal-fused ion engines
  • Supports Advanced Systems – CIHR, AETHER, FRIES, Arbalest capacitor weapon systems
  • No Fuel Draw – self-regulating through crystal-phase cycling
WEAKNESSES
  • Not a Full Reactor – cannot sustain engine or life support alone
  • Overuse Can Fracture Crystals – prolonged overdraw without recharge can destroy core
  • Limited Runtime on Emergency Pack – burst cycle only lasts 30–60 seconds at full load
  • Maintenance-Heavy – crystal lattice must be tuned and swapped often
DESCRIPTION
The MCR-I "Kestrel Core" is a crystal-integrated, ultra-compact supplemental power unit designed for Gen IV fighters, bombers, and interceptors lacking onboard reactors. Where larger ships may rely on the KHR-IV or KHR-VI, strike craft can now harness their Skyquake or Howlback engine output through a Canarocite-powered capacitor node , regulating energy demands and supporting advanced modular systems.

Built with Kyromite crystal regulators , Boreas-infused casing , and a CIHR micro-node , the Kestrel Core routes excess EFP output and stores waveform-stable energy for delivery to shield systems , targeting arrays , or burst weapons like Arbalest cannons or bomblet generators.

Commonwealth engineers designed the Kestrel Core as the “second breath” — the thing that lets a gunboat punch again after its reserves dip, or lets a stealth fighter pull one more evasive turn before blackout . It's not meant to sustain the ship, but to keep it alive through the moment that counts.

Kestrel Cores are now standard on all advanced strike craft , interceptors with stealth modules , and bomber frames using bomblet, plasma, or capacitor-fed weapons.
