OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: A personal melee weapon for Azula
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Restricted Missions: N/A
  • Primary Source:
    Bilari electro-chain whip

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: The Golden Company - Guild of Armorer's
  • Model: ECW-001 Prototype "Khepri's Chains"
  • Affiliation: Azula Merr
  • Modularity: No

  • Production: Unique
  • Material:
    Quadranium

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Sword, Whip
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Average
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Ability to 'snap' from sword form into a whip
  • Electro-plasma current through the length of the weapon
Strengths:
  • Dual Modes: The weapon is capable of switching from a sword to a whip at the whims of it's wielder, making it a versatile weapon that can be used for multiple combat situations.
  • Burn Ward: The constant electro-plasma current running through the weapon greatly adds to the lethality of it. Simply coming in contact with the weapon, whether it be in sword or whip form, it is designed to burn through flesh with ease and cut through most armors with repeated strikes.
  • Lightsaber Resistance: The electro-plasma edge is capable of resisting lightsaber strikes so long as the current is running.
Weaknesses:
  • Overheating: The electro-plasma charge cannot be held forever. Eventually, the heat will become too much for the gauntlets and the current will shut down, requiring several minutes to cool down.
  • Jamming: The mechanism used to extend the sword from the gauntlet and apply the electro-plasma current can be shut down temporarily by Ion/EMP damage.
  • Double-Edged Blade: In untrained hands, the ECW-001 can be just as deadly to the user as it is their opponent. It takes carefully and extensive training to wield such a weapon.
DESCRIPTION

The first of it's kind from the Guild of Armorer's, the ECW-001 is a prototype weapon utilizing the same technology as a bilari electro-chain whip technology with a few improvements. First off, the sword is hidden within the top of the wristguard portion of the gauntlets. The blades are unsheathed from the gauntlet by an activator on each wristguard. Once the blades unsheathe, the electro-plasma current starts channeling along the edge of the blade. At any moment, with just another thought, the user can cause the blade to 'break apart' and transform into a chain-whip, giving the weapon versatility and range.

Hello there, [member="Karnage"]! I will be looking over your sub with you today!

Need you to link the faction here.

Wording needs a little touch up. When describing your subs effects, try to write in a more 'Could/Should' format then 'Will/Does'. So, 'can burn through flesh with ease' or 'is designed to burn through flesh with ease'.

The second part is fine, to me, as it has 'repeated strikes' which leaves it up to the person being hit to decide how many hits it takes to make it through their armor. Just that first bit needs a bit more ambiguity thrown into it.

The first of it's kind from the Guild of Armorer's, the ECW-001 is a prototype weapon utilizing the same technology as a bilari electro-chain whip technology with a few improvements. First off, the sword is hidden within the top of the bracers. The bracers are linked to the wielders nervous system so all they have to do is 'tell' the blades to appear and they will shoot out of the bracers. Once the blades unsheathe, the electro-plasma current starts channeling along the edge of the blade. At any moment, with just another thought, the user can cause the blade to 'break apart' and transform into a chain-whip, giving the weapon versatility and range.
So, its 'hidden' in the top of the bracers. I need a bit of clarity on this. Is it 'hand-held' and just 'holstered' in a secret compartment in the bracers? Or are the 'bracers' the 'handle' and its like a hybrid of Ivy from Soul Calibur and Baraka from Mortal Kombat?

Also 'edge' of the blade. So, the Bilari Electro-Chain Whip didn't have an 'edge' it was, in sword form, a solid plasma 'blade'. So, does your weapon have the same tube-like structure? Or is it more 'sword' shaped and has a single edge that channels the heat? And if that is the case, how does that work in Whip Form? Just need some more clarity.

Finally, if these things are hooked up to his nervous system, and its already weak to Ion, what happens to him if it gets hit? Cause having a large electric current running through it and then his nervous system seems like a flaw that is notable enough to be written down in weaknesses.

Linked the faction.

Changed the wording to 'is capable of cutting through flesh.' Not really any if, ands, or buts about it. It's a current of electro-plasma. It's going to cut through flesh. Still up to the other writer if it actually touches their flesh.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head with the Baraka comparison. It's basically just like that. Except the blades are coming from a gauntlet and not from the person's skin lol.

The way it works is that it's a sword with an emitter that channels the electro-plasma current along the edge of the blade. Like, to give you an idea of how it would look: Imagine you have a sword and at the base of the blade, on both edges of the sword, you have these emitters that, when activated, channels a current of controlled energy along the edge of the blade from one emitter to the other. And the way it works in whip form is basically the same idea. Maybe I could say there's like some kind of medium along the sword that carries the current like a wire or something, yeah?

Also changed it from being hooked up to the person's nervous system to just having a pulley type system attached to the middle finger.

Hope the edits and clarification help out.

The player that gets hit by the weapon gets to decide what, if anything, happens to their character. Full stop. Something should do X. Something, by all rights and laws of common sense, says something should happen, but they get to decide what happens to them. Every sub, regardless of power, intent or functionality, needs to reflect that. Capable is fine, but keep that in mind for any future subs that, regardless of how potent the weapon or how it works, the player that is hit decides what happens to them and there should be no 'auto-damage' portions in any sub. (IE, nothing that can say, 'This happens to your character because this sub says so')

I was more asking for the 'shape' of the weapon. So, this is the canon weapon

The 'blade' is very 'tubular' and is almost like a electroblade training sword in its appearance when in sword form.

But when you say 'edge' it strikes me as almost like.. a European arming sword that has a solid 'core' and just the outside edges are what do all the work.

So, it is the latter then? A Baraka sword that has plasma running on just the edges?

[Talking to another judge, as I know the solid metal blade with plasma edges was something that was talked about recently about if it was okay or not, we decided the shape of this doesn't matter too much as the original concept, being a whip from TLJ, makes it pass. So going to go ahead and push forward].
