Not open for further replies.
Name: Khazund-Daran

Language: Khazundi and Galactic Basic
Average height of adults: 1.35-1.50 meters tall
Skin color: Ranging from light to heavy brown tan
Hair color: Black, brown, and Omega-Pyre-red
Breathes: Oxygen

Strengths: The stout Khazund are known for strength that could rival that of a Wookiee, impressive considering their height. The Khazund gain their physical strength from their musculature, built like a tank, short but durable and brute. Another of their strengths are their thick bones, allowing them to withstand more pressure on their bodies than an average human being would.
Khazund are also known for their engineering and metal working skills, always having affinity with mining and industry, polishing and exploring this affinity further at much greater rate once their cooperation with the Mecha they shared their planet with began.
The Khazund also developed their own form of Force alchemy, much like Sith alchemy, they could make their weapons resistant and sharper with the Force. Similarly to Shapers of Kro'Var, the Khazund force users could wield the Force with special affinity towards the elements, however, unlike the Shapers, the Khazund affinity towards elements restricts only to Earth and Fire elements.
Weaknesses: Khazund are not the most gentle or nicest of species. In fact, they're prude, crude, and often obnoxious. The Khazund have often unhealthy liking to drinking alcohol and overeating.
The Khazund are also proud of their facial hair, often sporting them long and large, in fact to sport a large beard is considered to be most honorable for a male. The Khazund start to grow their hair at very young age, by the time they could be considered toddlers, a stubble would become noticeable. It is not uncommon to even see females sporting beards, although presence or lack of a beard does not affect whether or not a female is perceived as attractive among the Khazund.
The technological advancement of Khazund revolved around industry, mining, metal workings, and droid manufacturing, severely lacking predominantly in field of medicine, even with introduction of bacta the Khazund had a very high death rate due to infections and diseases. Tying in with this is the powerful greed and drive towards physical ownership of wealth the Khazund have, often getting "oooh, shiny'd" in presence of crystals, jewelry, or credits, this was taken to such great extend by their race that they did not even notice or cared to stop the very ecosystem of their planet collapsing.
The Khazund have also limited schooling when it comes to Force. Force-sensitive beings are often revered as shamans or Runemasters, a highly skilled craftsmen who imbued the Force into the weaponry they create, however, their education often revolves around alchemy, the elements of Fire or Earth, and basic telekinesis.

Distinctions: Short, stocky, broad shoulders, muscular, thick and durable bones, and bearded (often that is true even in the cases of females and children)
Average Lifespan: About 250 years on average
Races: None
Diet: Omnivores, common food include meat of Khovaa, herbivore comparable to a bantha native to their homeworld, and Jehzen Fungi, common edible fungi found on their homeworld in specimen ranging from small as grass to large as trees.
Communication: Verbal communication, datapad-like electronic tablets with Khazundi runic writing, comm-links

Culture: The Khazund culture very much revolves around physical possessions, capitalism, industry, and greed. Craftsmen are cherished in Khazund culture, sometimes even above the warriors and defenders of the Khazund, with Runemasters, a type of Force alchemists, being considered as one of the most honorable positions in Khazund society.
Khazund believe in freely expressing oneself verbally, often spouting out insults or praises, depending on the situation, no matter how awkward the situation, which, considering most of the Khazund have somewhat Scottish accent, can be often considered pretty darn obnoxious.
The Khazund fashion many of their melee weapons after the tools commonly use, generally pickaxes, axes, and large hammers. The Khazund also put great weight on their armor, very similarly to Mandalorians, fashioning their suits out of the finest metals of Khazund, passing down suits from generation to generation and decorating it in runes and pictographs showing the battles in which the suit of armor was used for.
Ever since their departure from Mechanus, their homeworld, Khazund have put great pressure on space faring and mining asteroids, often employing themselves as mercenaries and traveling workers and armorsmiths. The Khazund have been traveling the Galaxy since them abandoning their homeworld, searching for a suitable planet they could collonize and call their new home.
However, the Khazund have hidden the location of Mechanus and never spoke of its actual location even in myths, upholding their part of the bargain they made with Mechas. By now, most Khazund either forgot or never heard about the actual location of their homeworld.
Khazund have also been known to include the Mecha in their myths, both as guardians and monsters, sometimes even worshiping the First Sparklord as deity of metal.

Technology level: The Khazund can be largely considered to be up-to-date on Galactic technological standards, due to their numerous journeys across the Galaxy they were able to update the fields they were lacking in. However, medicine has always been somewhat backwards in Khazund culture, and when it comes to mining, industry, personal armor, metal working, and droid manufacturing, the Khazund can be considered advanced.

General behavior: In general, Khazund can be considered loud-mouthed and obnoxious, always sporting large often dirty beards, belching all over the place, drinking in the back of cantinas, and speaking in painfully Scottish accents. The Khazund often do not trust or act too nicely towards strangers, however, once somebody gets on Khazund's good side and earn their trust, it is very difficult to lose that trust and friendship.

History: Khazund-Daran are native species to the planet Khazund, later known as Mechanus.
Since the beginning Khazund have been skilled miners and metal-works, especially proficient and forging their armor and crafting their buildings underground as opposed to building them on surface of their planet.
They have existed blissfully, waging wars against the hostile tribes of Ghablaresh Fungi with whom they shared their planet.
This changed when they came in contact with their first inter-stellar lifeforms, the Iron Knights, refugees of the Old Republic, betrayed by the Jedi they once served the machines were looking for a new place they could have called "home"
Khazund and the Iron Knights quickly entered into cooperation, the Khazund marveling at the technology the Knights brought with them, and the Knights becoming impressed with the skills the Khazund showed to them, especially skills in metal working and creating whole cities underground.
A pact was made between the Knights, who became known as Mecha, and the Khazund, the Knights would be allowed to built under plains, seas, and oceans, while the Khazund could mine the mountains and hills. The two species were more than happy to agree, Khazund being granted new array of technology they could develop to mine their precious gold and gems much quicker and more efficient and the Mecha were given a whole new home.

However, their Golden Age ended by the time of the New Republic. Turns out that having huge amounts of droids, machinery, industry placed above the needs of ecology, and power plants required to run it all, was doing unbelievable amount of damage on their ecosystems. The Khazund have teamed up with Mecha once more, they have always dreamed of spreading their empire to farthest reaches of the skies, and since now their planet was on the brink of cataclysm, time never looked better to leave their solar system.
The Mecha and Khazund constructed together large fleets of cargo ships, able to carry food and livestock among with Khazund refugees in order to, much like the Mecha, find a new home somewhere among the stars. The Khazund saved with them their favorite foodsources, Khovaa, herbivore oxen, and Jehzen, a common edible fungi. That was not the only thing they have brought with them, however, carnivorous Ghablaresh fungi has also found its way aboard some of the Khazund ships, spreading its presence with them.

The Khazund have begun hiring themselves as mercenaries, armorsmiths, and asteroid miners during their travels through the Galaxy. Everything was looking great and dandy until the Gulag Plague strike. The Khazund whose life has been now centering around interstellar travel, and who happened to have been backwards in the fields of medicine, took a great hit during the Gulag plague.
Large portions of the Khazund refugees were wiped out, either to Gulag or attacks of Ghablaresh Fungi that began infesting their very ships. Only few small pockets of refugees survived, making their lives among pirates, mercenaries, and shadowports, often as engineers and armorsmith.

Now that the Gulag has concluded, Khazund began forming again, the refugee groups joining together to recreate their once impressive planet, reigniting their quest to find a new home and carve out a new life for themselves in the Galaxy on brink of war.
