The Grave Admiral
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
[+] Indomitable Will- Kharon refuses to yield, whether in battle or in pursuit of his goals. Pain, fear, and humiliation mean little to him compared to failure. Once he sets his sights upon an objective, he will endure almost any hardship to see it accomplished.
[+] Maerd-Ka - Through genetic memory, Kharon is a skilled combatant. Even without many connections to the others of his kind, the Draelvasier is able to call upon Maerd-Ka. Kharon is able to augment and improve his abilities through memory shards which he hunts through the Scar Worlds.
(+/-) Draelvasier Physiology - The Draelvasier are a species of genetically engineered super-soldiers, created for the singular purpose of conquest. Towering over most sentient life, they possess immense physical strength, explosive speed, exceptional endurance, heightened senses, and naturally occurring volcanic chitin that forms a living suit of armor across their bodies. Their redundant organ systems, dual hearts, and remarkable resilience allow them to survive catastrophic injuries and continue fighting long after most species would succumb. Adapted to thrive in hostile environments, they are capable of enduring toxic atmospheres, blistering heat, and prolonged campaigns with an efficiency few species can rival. Even their instincts are shaped by generations of bioengineering, granting them an innate understanding of combat and the foundational principles of the Bryn'adûl martial tradition, Maerd-Ka.
These same adaptations, however, are accompanied by significant drawbacks. Maintaining such a colossal physique requires an enormous caloric intake, making prolonged starvation far more dangerous than it would be for most species. Their immense size and weight make stealth, infiltration, and operating within conventional civilian environments exceptionally difficult, while their physiology performs noticeably worse in extreme cold than in intense heat. Finally, although each Draelvasier is capable of independent thought, countless generations bred exclusively for war have left aggression and direct confrontation deeply ingrained within their nature. Restraint, diplomacy, and subtlety are skills that must be learned rather than instincts they are born with.
[-] Isolation- Kharon is culturally alone. He has yet to find trace of another Draelvasier in the galaxy. He may rule his men with an iron fist, but he has no allies to fall back on naturally.
[-] Sore Thumb- Being the size he is and the species he is, Kharon is not able to blend in very well. He is easily noticeable, and anyone who has a grudge against his kind can attack anywhere.
[-] A Child of War- Physically he may be a large adult, he is still ignorant to the ways of the galaxy. He was born for one thing and one thing only: destruction. If he can't beat it or burn it he doesn't know how to handle it.
[-] Legacy- Kharon was created to conquer a galaxy that no longer exists. The voices of his ancestors call him toward an empire that has long since crumbled into myth. He feels an instinctive obligation to restore the Draelvasier, yet possesses neither the knowledge nor the resources to accomplish such a monumental task. Every discovery only reminds him of how much has been lost.
BIOGRAPHY:
The Draelvasier were unlike any other species in the galaxy. They weren't born naturally, but grown. Deep within vast breeding facilities, living pods produced each new generation carrying the genetic refinements and inherited instincts of those that came before them. Every generation was engineered to be stronger, smarter, and deadlier than the last. It was this constant refinement that allowed the Bryn'adûl Empire to carve its way across the Outer Rim before ultimately collapsing beneath the weight of its own ambitions.
Kharon should have never existed.
Long after the Bryn'adûl disappeared into the Unknown Regions, one forgotten breeding complex remained buried beneath the surface of an overgrown Scar World. Its reactors had long since failed, leaving thousands of gestation pods dormant. Most of those within died before they were ever given life. Kharon's pod, however, managed to cling to existence for decades, trapped in a state between life and death until a brief surge of power finally completed the birthing process.
He awoke alone.
There were no caretakers waiting for him. No empire. No purpose beyond the instincts woven into his DNA. He knew how to fight before he understood what he was, and fragments of inherited memory whispered of a civilization that no longer existed. Confused and driven by instinct, Kharon lashed out at everything around him. By the time he left the facility, every remaining pod had been destroyed. Only years later would he realize he had likely killed the last unborn members of his own species.
With nothing but scattered instincts to guide him, Kharon wandered the Scar Worlds. Ruined fortresses, abandoned laboratories, and forgotten battlefields became his teachers. Within them he discovered memory shards left behind by the Bryn'adûl, each one revealing another fragment of the people he had never known. Through them he began piecing together their martial traditions, history, and technology.
Knowledge, however, required resources.
Over time Kharon gathered pirates, mercenaries, and drifters beneath his banner, building a reputation as a ruthless pirate lord operating throughout the Scar Worlds and Outer Rim. His crew believes they raid forgotten worlds for credits, weapons, and salvage. In truth, every expedition serves another purpose. Every ruined temple, abandoned outpost, or derelict warship may hold another memory shard or relic of the Bryn'adûl Empire.
Kharon does not raid the dead to become rich.
He raids them because somewhere among their ruins lies the future of his people.
