Public KGM Charity Gala - (Fully Open)

ORD MANTELL

Having left Empress Teta after their family trip, Persephone found herself flying straight to Ord Mantell for a charity gala. A typical event for someone of her age and status. It was also one of the socially approved 'parties' her parents allowed her to attend, especially alone. Well, with security but alone enough.

Dressed in a sparkly champagne colored gown, Persephone paused to look around the room. No one she knew offhand, which wasn't unusual. Diarchy space wasn't something she was completely familiar with. An interesting group of people, that much she knew. Her eyes spotted some government officials, some nobles, others she couldn't identify.

Word had it Liin Terallo Liin Terallo was also here, but the teenager didn't know what the woman looked like. Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell had spoke of her multiple times but beyond knowing she was once in line to rule New Cov and something with biomolecules, Persie didn't know anything else about the woman. No matter, she would be making rounds at the Gala so perhaps they would bump into one another.

Snagging a glass of red wine, Persephone took a sip and gave a small shrug. Time to move around and see what she could overhear.

OPEN

"It's what friends do, correct? Looking out for one another, where that is here or out in combat. Besides, gets me out of the temple on Dathomir for once."

"No kidding, I'm sure they were getting tired of you." Aiden teased as he held out his arm for her to take if she wished. He looked over towards the bar, its always a good place to get information. That and meet some new people, source some information from these individuals and hopefully find something worthwhile or decent.

If it could aid the Order or the Republic he would do it.

"well, I feel a little less beautiful seeing how gorgeous everyone else is looking. Feel a little plain compared to some of these dresses."
"You are looking very dashing... Dashingly handsome? That's a term right? If not, I am making it one."

"You look far better than a bunch of the people here. And I'm not just saying that." He gave her a gentle nudge as he gave a small jerk of his head towards the bar. "Do you want to get something to drink?" He asked, and he smirked and laughed lightly before looking back to her. "Dashingly handsome, I will take that compliment all day."

The soft voice made Saul turn his head, taking the napkin gently and using it to cover her nose. He was about to say thanks when he could feel his soul draw itself out of his chest at the sight of her. This new woman certainly looked like she was right off a Holomovie set. It took him a couple of seconds for his mind to try to control his hormones before he could put out a response.

Gently plucking the tissue from her hand, he held it up to his nose as he thanked her with a nod. "Umm... Thanks... I appreciate it, Pretty Lady..." Sitting down on one of the chairs against the wall, he leaned his head back as he stuffed his nose full of napkin. "So... are you gonna tell me your name or are we gonna sit here awkwardly while you look at my nose hole...?" Saul expected her to try to walk out of this situation politely while saying, "Really, it's alright. You don't have to give the napkin back. Bye now." but at least he could give talking a try for whatever it was worth. Who knows, maybe this young woman wouldn't be quite as harsh as the last one...

- Adrikobe beckoned a server, and whispered into the man's ear:
"Clear the floor, tell the symphony to play..."

the rest of what he said was drowned out by the rest of the party

- The server nodded, before walking over to whom appeared to be his supervisor.

- The head of staff then approached the symphony stage, getting the attention of the composer. After a brief few seconds, the symphony began to slow, until ultimately stopping.

Adrikobe spoke above the crowd now, as voices muffled,
"I suggest everyone on the floor find a partner, otherwise migrate elsewhere. I wish to test the dancing prowess of the Galaxy's finest."

- Shortly after his statement, the Symphony began to play, everyone present on the center floor had about 2 minute to find a partner, or find somewhere else to mingle.

Those who weren't interested might be drawn closer to the bar, or other recreational opportunities. Or, could simply opt to mingle.

- The donation boxes (independent of the auction) for the various charities collaborating with the event were also unveiled near the stairs, allowing for additional contribution should anyone choose to do such.

There was a curious look in his eyes for a moment. It was as though there was some recognition in them, yet I had never seen him before. And my face thankfully has not been broadcasted anywhere.

My thoughts were immediately interrupted as he spoke and gave me a compliment. Perhaps he had been indulging in drinks already, for people do not tend to give me compliments other than on my work.

I sat down beside him on a nearby chair and already he was doing a common mistake with nosebleeds by setting his head back. It should be the other way around. "My name is Liin. And if you tilt your head forward, you will find that the bleeding will stop that much quicker." I am no medic, but to me it seemed to be what I thought was common knowledge. "What is your name?" I can only assume that the man is embarrassed. Afterall, I surely would be if it had happened to me in such a public event. I can only hope that it does not happen to me. So I am doing my very best to keep myself calm and collected. It is a good thing that I was raised to not be overly emotional.

"Did you bump your nose against something?" I hoped that his answer was yes. But I had a feeling that it would not be. For that strange pull underneath my rib cage continued and the air particles around us seemed to mingle together. I can only hope that it is just the effect of the wine that I had been sipping on and has nothing to do with my synthetic abilities. But it is currently too early to tell.

I paused to look at the people going by. There were some brief glances, but nothing more. I thought that I had caught sight of one of the Dashiell's. Hopefully she came on her own. The last thing that I need is to further dispell rumors.

"Oh, my company that boring is it?" Dreidi huffed in a teasing tone, "shall I leave you at the bar and spend the evening with my mother and her husband?" Dreidi smirked, it was nothing something that she planned on doing. While she would likely say hi to Jairdain Ismet-Thio Jairdain Ismet-Thio and Jax Thio Jax Thio , her intentions were to spend the time with the man who asked to have her as a date for the gala.

Dreidi grinned and felt a blush form on her cheeks at his compliment, "as kind as your words are, sadly, I still feel like there were plenty more women in your orbit of friends that would have helped you stand out more impressively than myself." Aiden was known to have quite beautiful women as close friends from what Dreidi had seen, royalty as well. Always made Dreidi feel more self-conscious about herself and how she felt a little too plain.

"A drink sounds good. What shall we have?" Dreidi was not a heavy drinker but she suspected there were not going to be many non-alcoholic options. Having had Aileni, Dreidi found herself used to drinking softer beverages. Often times they were far more refreshing and relaxing than alcoholic ones were suggested to be to her.

Tibera listened to the Umbaran woman intently as she talked about the lineage of her mink. The white-haired merc had a soft spot for animals, especially the little ones. She couldn't help but smile as she offered a finger to the little weasel.

"A little lady with a pedigree, I'm impressed! Weird knowing a mink has better raising than I do," Tibera joked, before returning to listening. It sounded like this mysterious lady was much closer to her type than the other members of the gala...

Tibera took a cocktail glass off the nearby table and began to munch on shrimp, parking her prodigious bulk on the nearby wall. Seemed that the alien with animal magnetism knew how to maneuver in these settings, getting to the fat pockets of the rich.

"Security? Hah, not tonight I'm afraid, kind of between jobs at the moment. Some contracts I was on fell through, hoped that I could bounce back by doing some hobnobbing," Tibera said, soon after filling her mouth with a prawn.

Now was a great time to be a warmonger, less so for a mercenary. Sure there was plenty of war to profit off of, but so many of the armies were too high and mighty to open up their wallets to soldiers of fortune. She almost prayed for peace, at least then she could find some jobs in the corporate sector!

"Guess that makes us birds of a feather tonight then? Both of us seem to be huntresses preying on the purses of the ultra-wealthy. Course, I will admit, I do like to flex the credits a bit when it comes to charity. Kids in the galaxy deserve to have something nice..."

Tibera also had a weak point for kids, one that such auctions catered to. She didn't want anyone to have the kind of upbringing she'd been through. Spending more time punching than playing, better not to dwell though, tonight was shaping up to be fun!

"shall I leave you at the bar and spend the evening with my mother and her husband?"

"So now it's my company that's boring is it?" Aiden voiced in a mock tone that was laced with disappointment and sadness. "Well...I figured as much...." Aiden's face finally gave way as he couldn't put the display on any longer and broke out into a laugh. And even still she was being stubborn, as she dismissed his words, he shook his head and smirked.

"We will agree to disagree on this matter I suppose." Aiden led them towards the bar as he stuck his tongue out at her. "Stubborn...." He said just above a whisper, and in a teasing manner. He thought to her question and he gave a good glance up and down the bar.

"Corellian whiskey is the only choice I'm fully aware of." He tried to recall that drink that he and Roman had a while back. He couldn't' recall what it was though. He smirked as that was a lifetime ago it seemed. "I know I'm feeling something else this evening." Aiden raised his hand to his chin for a moment as he pondered more of the choices.

There seemed to lightly blue colored drink that was newly imported from Hapes. Supposed to be the new thing over there, slightly more alcoholic concentration than the average but with a sweeter taste.

"What's your pick?"

For a moment, she shivered. It passed quickly, but she had the feeling something important was going to happen tonight. Something maybe even greater than this gala. Moving closer when Rellik pulled her, she felt she knew what his answer would be.
Kharnaz had arrived.

Kharnaz was not used to outing like this. Elegance. Poise. Restraint. These were all qualities he was sorely lacking. Still he did what his master desired, and he was to make some connections here.

He wore an ill fitting suit, his muscles barely restrained by the fabric. He kept his lightsabers hidden for now. He would not blow his cover by attacking someone amidst the no violence rule.

It was then that he smelt it. A familiar scent, one he could never forget. That jedi, Iandre was here. He snarled. Perhaps he should pay her a visit.

Oh, Saul wished he were drunk; it would save him from remembering this embarrassment. His mind wasn't up to following directions, as it was filled with the screen star's face. "Sorry, guess I'm a little disoriented..." Moving his head forward, he let the bleeding quickly come out of his nose, trying to get the treatment over with."And it's Saul, thanks for your help. Liin... Thats a nice name, it suits you." He rolled the napkin up and, after a moment of estimating, tossed it into one of the trash bins around the room. Sinking a hole in one, he could at least bless his lucky stars that he could still measure angels with a broken mind as well as with a good one.

When she asked is he had bumped something, he could only shake his head as he rubbed his eyes. "No, it just came over me... Guess it was just one of those random moment's huh?" Trying his best to save face and make a concection, he offered a hand out as a smirk came across his face. "If I didn't think I was going to fall over my own feet, I might try asking you to dance." It was a long shot and there was every possibilty Liin might give him a big fat no but he had decided he had to atleast try. It was either that, or he was starting to get light headed enough from the bloodloss to do something as crazy as believing in himself.

Valery's smile deepened at his words, the warmth in her eyes clear, "Perhaps we should," she said with an easy grace, clearly interested in understanding the man in front of her.

So when he offered, she accepted his arm without hesitation, her hand resting lightly but with a sense of poise, as though she had been born to the kind of setting where every gesture mattered. "Then I hope you don't mind if I find out for myself just how well you lead," she continued, her voice smooth and measured.

She knew how to play this game.

As they stepped toward the dancefloor, her stride matched his, her gown flowing with each step, the mask casting just enough shadow to keep her thoughts her own. "I admit, I was curious to see what kind of man could bring such a range of people together under one roof. You clearly have a way of making things happen."

She glanced at him as they reached the edge of the floor, the faintest curve returning to her lips. "So tell me, is it the challenge of it you enjoy, or the result?" Her tone was light, inviting him to speak freely, even as she let herself sink into the rhythm of the music and the growing anticipation of the first steps.

Adrikobe resisted the urge to smirk at her question, he waited for the first steps, as he led her into the waltz.

- Forward step. Backward step. Followed by a bit of flare.

He feigned pondering, though his answer was already long since prepared. He spoke, his words calculated and professional... though with a bit of 'himself' in them:

"Challenge is something I aspire to overcome, yet the greatest pleasure I gain is in eliminating it. I take great pride in doing what I do best: Finding a way to be better than those around me."

- His words came off the tongue effortlessly as he continued, his feet and mind coordinated in a waltz very much the same as they were sharing now, only Adrikobe believed himself to be several steps ahead.

"Efficiency is my primary language, you might say. Though, depending on the occasion? I tend to be quite multilingual. Not that I wasn't to begin with, mind you."
A hint of smugness could be detected in his statement, though this was intentional. To showboat? No, but rather to see how she would react.

- Their movement matched the music, as they alternated between clockwise and counter clockwise movements following the peaks of the symphony.

- It was further intended for one to alternate the foot they were using, which seemed to trip up a few bold dancers, though Adrikobe kept steady.

- It was fairly apparent he'd done this plenty a time, as he seemed accustomed the the music note by note, and seemed to be able to hold their conversation as if they were on a casual stroll.

He continued:

"I suppose I could ask you the same question, albeit slightly altered."

- He paused for a flare, which gave way to a period of pause and more simple movements.

"Which do you enjoy more? What tonight entails, or the cause?"

- He was silent, having kept his question intentionally vague. He awaited her response, musing over the possibilities.

Valery's movements matched his without hesitation, her hips swaying subtly in time with the music as the two of them turned across the polished floor. She kept close, the light brush of her shoulder and the gentle pressure of her hands when they drew near more than simple necessity for the dance.

A faint glimmer touched her eyes at his mention of being "multilingual," her lips curving just slightly as if she had caught an amusing thought. "I imagine you're quite fluent in more ways than one," she replied, her tone light but carrying the suggestion that she was curious just how far that claim extended.

She let the steps carry them through another turn before meeting his gaze again. "As for your question…" She tilted her head slightly, the mask hiding little of the expression that followed. "The cause will always matter most to me. It's why I'm here, and why I do what I do." Her voice softened for just a moment before it warmed again. "But nights like this… the people you meet, the conversations that start with a smile and lead somewhere far more interesting… those moments are valuable too."

Something he'd likely understood more than well enough.

Her hand shifted slightly against his arm, her touch just a fraction more present. "Sometimes the connections you make here are what keep the cause alive out there."

Then, she shrugged, "Or, at the very least, there's some fun to be had." She moved along with his rhythm again, her body swaying in hypnotizing patterns that made it clear this wasn't her first time either.

- Adrikobe was... pleasantly surprised. Not many had gotten this far with him before.

So, he decided to up the antee.

- Adrikobe's already delicate grip loosened further, with the two of them holding on by seemingly the tips of their fingers.

One stumble is all it could take to break the waltz. Fortunately, Adrikobe had no intention of doing such, nor did he expect she would either.
Though, he pondered over how she might just undo herself. Not through action, but through words.
Should she endure this... then perhaps her and Adrikobe would exchange more than just a light dance.

- His subtle smirk remained, though it had faded from its prominence. After leading her into another flare, and a series of increasingly rigid steps, he spoke:

"Even the most righteous of causes require the right kind of support, otherwise they break under their own weight.
Just as even a fake smile can crack if your words land firm enough."

He paused, before resuming once they entered another pause period:

"You and I know that well, I imagine.

(brief pause)

Perhaps you could shed some light on which cause you plan to support? Whatever would drive a woman such as yourself to seek me out is the source of my curiosity."

Valery adjusted easily to the change in his grip, her steps never faltering as their connection shifted to the barest touch. She moved with the same grace, her hips swaying in time with each turn, her body never losing that air of control. If his intention had been to test her, it was clear she had no intention of stumbling.

His words drew a faint spark of amusement to her eyes, but when she answered, there was a steadiness beneath the playful curve of her lips. "You're right. Even the best intentions can fail miserably." She let the music carry them through another turn before her voice lowered, just enough for the conversation to feel more private despite the crowd around them.

"My cause is the people. The ones who have no voice when power shifts. The ones who suffer when destructive forces are allowed to grow without challenge. I have seen too many worlds fall into shadow because no one stood up soon enough." Her gaze held his as they moved together, "I'm not interested in watching it happen any longer."

She leaned in just slightly, the brush of her shoulder lingering as they crossed the floor. "So I lead others who feel the same. Jedi, soldiers, civilians… anyone willing to fight back. Together, we've made a difference. But we need allies and influence. People who can help shape the field before the battle is even fought."

Her tone softened again, the faintest hint of a smile returning. "Which is why I'm here tonight. To see who's worth knowing… and who might want to be part of something larger than themselves."

"Though I don't expect such efforts to be given freely as favors."

- Adrikobe smirked, he had been proven correct.

"Your expectations prove true."

- His hold tightened by a hair, timed precisely with a flare. Though, this didn't mean their waltz was yet complete.

"Though, might I ask?: What leads you to believe you'd find willing donors (such as myself) to invest in such an enterprise?"
- They spun, before stepping clockwise yet again

"I mean more than the usual moral posturing."

He kept his statements simple. His tone clearly expressed that his interest was piqued, though he remained uncertain. After all, a bad investment can topple even the strongest of businessmen.

The Diarch chuckled while his wife gave him a hard time. She was one of the few that held absolutely no fear for the man many would call a bloodthirsty warlord.

"You are right, of course. Forgive me"

Reign's attention was diverted however, when a woman approached. As she introduced herself, Reign plastered the statesman's smile on his face, genuinely excited to meet someone new.

He bowed in return

"The pleasure is ours, I assure you."

If one listened, they would be able to place the faint Tarisian accent of the Diarch

"You are quite right of course, The Diarchy has been embroiled in many conflicts recently. But one must find the time to stop, and recharge."

He paused for a moment

"Atrisia, I can't say I'm familiar with the planet itself. Only that it lies deep within the territory of the Galactic Alliance. I would be eager to learn more."

Lady Nocturne

Dark Lady of the Diarchy
The smile was still on her lips as her husband apologized. There were times when Nocturne thought she must be the only person in the galaxy Reign backed down from. It was a thought that warmed her heart. Her husband had stared down Emperors and Jedi Masters, abominations and starweirds and not blinked. Yet, when it came to his wife, he was still the young boy on Taris.

Her gaze focused as the newcomer approached. The Woman was a beauty for sure. As she spoke, Nocturne tried to place her accent, but could not pinpoint where it was from. As her husband spoke to the woman, Nocturne placed her arm in his, adding when he paused.

"Even Diarchs can tire of war, when word came to us that this event was happening, on our border no less, we made it a point to come."

She motioned over to where Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik could be seen.

"Even my ever elusive brother in-law has come. The Diarchy are not just warmongers, a chance to give charitably appeals to us all."

Everything about Nocturne was warm, almost as if she was meant to draw you in, lower your guard. She appeared the type of person you'd want to be friends with.. and it was real, Nocturne was a friend to all first and foremost, until that friendship was lost. Then, only her husband matched her ferocity.

"I'm from Chandrila originally, just across the deep core from Atrisia. I recall there being such beautiful art."

If one could say he felt out of place, it was him and it was definetly now. Regardless of that fact that he was able to actually purchase a decent suit for the evening, he still felt off. This was not his scene in the slightest, in alleys scrounging for credits had been the basis of his life prior to meeting Persephone and Makai.

He had briefly mentioned to her that he might show up, mainly to protect her is what he told himself. With this not being his scene, in truth it did sound like quite a bit of fun.

He took a deep breath as he fidgeted a bit before he caught glimpse of Persephone and began to make his way towards her. He could already hear her voice in his mind....

You again....? The young teen mused as he soon was before her.

"Persephone, Hey." Kiran said with slightly awkward wave but a good smile. "You look really nice."

Vera Mina

Guest
"Atrisia is a truly lovely world." Vera said, inwardly surprised that the Diarchy Leadership was not more distant, more..."upper class".

In fact, Diarch Reign Diarch Reign and Lady Nocturne Lady Nocturne had such disarming smiles that Vera had to hide just how taken aback she was by their charm. The old, completely sociopathic version of her would have immediately worked around this, but years of software updates and hardware upgrades plus merging with Arianna Belasko had left Vera more cautious. More calculating. More hesitant.

"And I do consider our art some of the finest that can be found anywhere..." Vera continued. "But my mother's homeworld is just as known for the quality of its warrior traditions as it's art. My own mother comes from a line of such warriors. In different times, I suspect Atrisia would not have been out of place in a government like the Diarchy's..."

A passing waiter offered her a glass of champagne. Vera wordlessly declined. Drinking in front of such politically powerful individuals would only cause them to dismiss her as merely another careless socialite.

"And between you and me..." she admitted quietly and sincerely to both of them, echoing her own husband's private sentiments as well as her own (Keep in mind that her husband was a Jedi). "Given the Alliance's completely inexcusable failures with The Sith taking Coruscant, my family has been beside ourselves setting up relief stations for refugees fleeing the core. My daughter Sera spent years trying to care for Alliance worlds devastated by the previous war with the Sith via her corporate profits. The Core's loss has...set her efforts back considerably..."

That was the most Vera was willing to admit, to even hint at, when it came to how much her daughter had been devastated and horrified by the loss of the core, and how completely enraged at the Alliance leadership she was.

"Perhaps the Alliance might need to become more like your Diarchy if it wants to survive. Because something clearly isn't working if we lost the core so easily. It has me concerned for Atrisia. For seeing all it has built come to ruin. It's distressing to me, knowing I can only do so much. That my family can only do so much..."
