A Riben-Jin cultural depiction of a Keun-Yong

Name: Keun-Yong

Designation: Semi-sentient Reptile

Homeworld: Tiantang

Language: Animalistic vocalizations

Average height of adults: Between 9 and 12 meters long

Skin color: Keun-Yong scales varied in color from bright blue, to burning red, to even coal-black.

Hair color: What fur they had on their bodies allways appeared to be white or light colored.

Breathes: Type 1, Oxygen

Strengths:

+Force Sensitivity – The Keun-Yong were observed to have flown and levitated despite not having any flight organs such as wings. IN addition, accounts were made by Jin record keepers that most Keun-Yong were able to “spit lightning”. These, in addition to Fangshi Monks describing an “immense power” in the presence of the Keun-Yong, give credience to the fact that the fantastic beasts had a connection to the Force.

+Strong Bones – As evidenced from the remains of the specimens slain by Emperors and casual hunters alike, the bones of a Keun-Yong were durable like steel, but were lighter and easier to shape than steel. However, despite their legendary durability, they would be unable to withstand the power of a lightsaber. But, armor made from Keun-Yong bone has known to take a few hits from blasterfire.

Weaknesses:

-Extinct – The Keun-Yong have gone extinct as far as reason studies have shown, with no wild sighting of one being recorded in over a thousand years

-Aggressive – The hubris of the Keun-Yong were their aggressive attitudes. While it served well in combat in hunting, they would pursue intruders and threats with a fervor that often lead to their doom by either starvation or wounding by their opponent.

Distinctions: The Keun-Yong were large, reptilian creatures that had a seeming connection to the Force. They were know for their ferocity and tenacity during a fight, leading to an impression of a disciplined being to the native Jin, thereby creating the honor and discipline culture of modern Jin. They also had strange markings on their bodies that appeared to be similar to characters in the Yuyan alphabet, giving rise to the Jin myth of Keun-Yong being the granters of their language.

Average Lifespan: From what was gathered by one scientific study, a hatchlings were tagged and observed. On average, they appeared to live an
upward of 300 years if death was of natural causes.

Races: None

Estimated Population: Presumed extinct. There has not been a sighting of a Keun-Yong in the wild in over a thousand Tianese years. There at least thirty, incomplete skeleton specimens mounted around the Imperial Palace on Tiantang.

Diet: Largely carnivorous. They did not seem to particularly bothered by any of the prey they ate.

Communication: Roaring and bellowing vocalizations.

Culture:
Keun-Yong appeared to be solitary creatures, keeping to themselves until the period came to mate and rear offspring. During this time, a coupling would only produce a clutch of around 1-4 eggs. Males generally stood guard of both incubating eggs and hatchlings while females went out and hunted to provide food to their hatchlings and mates. Males were very territorial, and would often challenge each other with clashes of horns, much like Earth’s stags and rams.

Technology level: Below stone age technology, if they had any.

General behavior:
The extinct, wild Keun-Yong were notorious for their fierocity when their territory seemed threatened. There have been many accounts by the Jin of these reptilians pursuing hunting parties for hours, and appeared to carry grudges. They were very intelligent creatures, using strategy in their hunting and seemed to remember faces of individuals.

Keun-Yong were territorial and isolationists for the most part. The only time that this behavior ever changed was during mating season and the rearing of offspring. Male would often fight over mates, participating in horn locking not unlike deer. After mating, mates would share shifts in protecting the eggs, with other going out hunting and retirieving food. Parents would only stay with their young for a period of about three standard months, about when the chicks are able to fly and hunt for themselves.

History:
For many millennia, the Keun-Yong were the apex species on Tiantang before the arrival of the Jin’s terrestrial ancestors. Amost immediately, the two species clashed with one another. The Ancient Jin did so mostly out of survival against the dragon-like Keun-Yong. This clash lasted for many millennia, with the Jin slowly starting to gain a foothold.

After the founding of the Jin Empire by the First Emperor, it became an honored tradition for every succeeding royal to hunt an adult Keun-Yong as a sign of the daring and courage needed to be Emperor. As the Imperial Dynasties marched on, so called “Yong hunting” became a favored sport among Tiantang’s elite. The population of the Keun-Yong deteriorated with these hunts, as it was popular to find a male in his prime as a trophy of the hunt. As such, there were less and less males to maintain a breeding population. Finally, about 1000 Tianese years ago, the last known Keun-Yong was hunted and killed by Emperor Mingzhi, the founder of the current ruling Imperial Dynasty.

Now with the Jin Empire make strides to make itself known to the rest of the galaxy, there has been an overwhelming sense of remorse over the apparent extinction of the Keun-Yong. Efforts are being made by the Empire’s finest geneticists to clone the Keun-Yong in hopes to both create a maintained wild population as well as domesticate some for show to any new incomers wishing to visit the Empire. For many millennia, the Keun-Yong were the apex species on Tiantang before the arrival of the Jin’s terrestrial ancestors. Notable Player-Characters: None, and most likely will be none

Intent: To give a greater, in-depth look to a creature that influenced the Jin and Tiantang. In addition, there will be a future technology post that involves a weapon with a handle made from Keun-Yong bone.

So a few things to address:
 • Exactly how strong are there bones? Could they take a hit from a lightsaber per say?
 • I'm curious why you chose to make them extinct currently? Do you plan to clone or discover a lost colony of these creatures?
 • Can you expand upon the general behavior as it is rather bare bones?
 • Can you also expand on the history of the creature? Specifically about how it came to be extinct and how it ties into the history of the planet and such?

You also have some repeats here

I'm going to place this as pending approval, but I do leave this warning. If you decide to have these cloned and brought back to life, do not abuse these and they will require a sub mod
