- Non-dimetris circuit
- Dual phase switch
- Deflection emitter
- Phrik hand+emitter guard
- Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse
- Compressed Rubat crystal
- Grip choke
- Bronzium detailing
- Dual phase switch: Able to quickly switch between shoto and full size lightsaber blade lengths via associated focus presets.
- Deflection emitter: The emitter produces a blade particularly well suited to deflecting blaster fire.
- Phrik guards: The emitter case and tsuba-style handguard can withstand some direct lightsaber strikes before failing.
- Bifurcating cyclical ignition pulse: Can be ignited and remain functional underwater.
- Non-dimetris circuit: Cortosis does not short out the blade on contact.
- Rubat crystal: The crystal enables faster attacking, compared to a more standard Ilum crystal. The entry for rubat here suggests speed, rather than damage, is the benefit contrary to wookiepedia, and I chose to take the community-provided definition.
- Difficult to conceal: The weapon requires partial disassembly, thanks to the handguard integral to the emitter case, to be meaningfully stashed away on her person, rendering it inoperable for the duration.
- Restrictive: While not overly large, the handguard interferes with flourishes and finesse techniques centered around wrist movements without making sacrifices in the security of grip.
- Cortosis: While no longer shorting out the blade, it remains as nigh impervious as ever against a lightsaber.
Shortly after joining the New Jedi Order, Kell needed a lightsaber, as her previous, unaffiliated master did not afford her the opportunity to make one in his constant attempts to evade the sith. As a parting gift, of sorts, she was left with an old lightsaber crystal of his which produces a well-defined, pulsing green blade. Taking the words to heart that a lightsaber must be first and foremost used for defence, Kell has constructed a durable, protective, and utilitarian weapon that nonetheless makes use of bronzium plating for personal decorative elements on the durasteel body. A choke makes certain movements and grip styles more comfortable, and a long-ingrained understanding that sometimes fighting must get a little dirty made a dual phase switch a no brainer decision.
