Arcturus pushed aside the macrolense of his magnifying glass, attached to his desk by a fully moveable arm, and leaned back in his seat to rub at his strained eyes. Before him sat a small petri-style dish with seemingly nothing held upon it; the lens, of course, told a different story. Just a few grains of sand, miniscule and insignificant, had been his focus for the day.
An entire day's work, with seemingly very little progress. It was more than a little frustrating. Stretching out his limbs, he moved to stand and turned off the lamp which had been directed toward his project. Even with it shut off the man did not struggle to see through the seemingly pitch black room, as he span a ring upon his finger and let out a short sigh.
Reaching out his senses, he found the ship oddly quiet. Sure there were the various animals and golems, Nwit, Tuus, even Nephthys whom he'd found barely alive on Korriban and couldn't bear to leave behind, but there was a presence that was decidedly missing from the depths of
Leviathan herself. Being that they were in the depths of space, en route from one world to another, Arcturus knew there was only one place his Apprentice could reasonably be. Had she thrown herself from the airlock he'd have known long before she even reached the door, this he felt certain of.
There was no denying a bond had begun to form through the Force, one which was indicative of their Apprenticeship. Curiosity had piqued his interest now, and so he made his way across the ship and toward the starboard airlock. The docking tunnel had been modified some time ago to allow for a more permanent fixture to be added, strong magnetic fields practically fusing
Beholder to the far larger
Leviathan so that they could exist in tandem even through hyperspace. For all intents and purposes, they had become one vessel - at least until he saw fit to detach them.
It was through the tunnel that he wandered now, feeling her presence brighten through the Force, and once on the other side he quietly approached her in the meditation chamber and paused to observe through the darkness. Watched her as she went through the motions of something vaguely reminiscent of a form, though riddled with imperfections. A wrong foot here, twisted wrist there. Arms crossed, he didn't say much of anything to begin with.
And then he took a step into the room itself.
All at once the room glowered with a red hue, accompanied by the signature
snap-hiss of an igniting lightsaber. Through the Force he adjusted the intensity of the blade so that it matched that of a training saber. "
I admire the initiative," he stated, as he approached her position. "
And I'm glad you're making good use of the space. Chin up, Apprentice, turn your right foot inward just a touch more. Shii-Cho, you've been studying it as requested?"
Lazily, one might argue all together too slowly, he directed his blade toward her left shoulder. An easy enough blow to deflect.
