STRENGTHS
  • Pressurized and Buttoned Up:
    • The ATTW through the use of the sealed hatches and onboard life support systems blurs the lines between dropship and walker, allowing for the walker to be utilized in low or zero atmosphere situations, such as on asteroids or the surface of ships or space stations. While not intended to be used in such means a majority of the time, these additional options allow for the transport to safely get its passengers or cargo to the battlefield, whether that battlefield be welcoming to the lungs of the occupants or not.
  • Not so Defenseless:
    • With the focus of the KDW products being a similar theme of durable and powerful, though slower in their operation, the Hive Walker carries powerful missile systems and a turbolaser mounted on it to deal with other heavy walkers and tanks that would oppose it. In addition to its armaments, the Hive carries on board a shielding projector as well as dual layered armor to provide superior protection for the crew and passengers of the walker, making light Anti Vehicle fire on it little more than an annoyance and allowing for it to really brawl with other similar vehicles or threats.
  • We can go anywhere:
    • Due to the additiong of it's walker design and the magnetic and anchor clamps common to KDW designs, the Hive Walker is capable of operating in all manner of locations and environments. This further allows it to tackle hills, mountains and cliffsides with relative ease as they need for flatter ground is far less of a requirement for the Hive.
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow and Steady:
    • As a tradeoff for the heavy armor and weaponry, the Hive suffers in its speed and maneuverability. The sacrifice of these aspects can make it an easier target for airborne assailants as well as make it hard for the Hive to keep up with retreating forces or vehicles. It relies on that heavy armor to compensate for this low speed, but does require support due to these facts from other vehicles or infantry to make up for those short comings.
  • Broad side of a barn:
    • Similar to it's problem with speed, due to it's size, the Hive Walker is a large target making it easier to target with anti-vehicle weaponry and especially for airborne assailants. The use of precision bombs or heavy anti-vehicle weaponry will find the Hive Walker a very tempting target, allowing for repeated shots to find their mark with little trouble.
  • Never look over your shoulder:
    • Due to the design of the Hive Walker, the threat to the rear of the vehicle is much higher. With only two light laser cannons able to target the back area of the Walker, the walker can become a sitting duck if enemies get behind it and take out the few anti-personnel weapons that are located back there.
DESCRIPTION
The Hive Walker was designed as a way to provide the Confederacy and Keshiri Driveworks partners with a all terrain walker capable of being transported by the Umbra Class Dropship or other similar vessels down to a planet's surface and to safely get soldiers from point A to point B. During the design phase, the topics of Armament and Protection necessitated that the Hive be equipped heavily and given ample defensive features. This allowed for the development of a Heavy Walker that could slug it out with some of the best out there on the open market, one that could operate and take a punch while delivering its payload safely and firing to support those soldiers.
