  • Distinctions:
Kage and Zeltrons are renowned for their natural beauty, and this trait has been passed onto the Kazelrrians. Both male and females are perceived as attractive by humans and near humans, and have pupils that compress into vertical slits. They're known for being extremely gullible, lightning fast reflexes, and heightened senses.

All members of this race have pointed ears, long fangs that may jut from their jaws, and sharp retractable claws on their fingertips. Males of this species are known to be slightly taller than their female counterparts, and often retain the Zygerrian trait of bony spurs protruding from their chins and natural fur bands on their cheeks that match their hair color.

Kazelrrians have varying colorations when it comes to skin, hair, and eyes. They also boast the presence of a second liver, allowing them to enjoy a larger number of alcoholic beverages than other humanoids. Their increased metabolism allows them to eat even the richest of foods while maintaining excellent physical shape, though a lack of exercise can result in individuals suffering from obesity.

Due to their Kage heritage Kazelrrians are able to form memories from their first year of age, and are able to retain vast amounts of knowledge. They're capable of producing pheromones that are potent at close range, and are said to be sweet smelling by other races. Kazelrrians possess limited telepathic abilities, they're are able to feel emotions from and project emotions towards others.

The hair of Kazelrrians will change colors towards the tips when feeling strong emotions, giving them an ombre effect. If the individual is processing multiple emotions, or being overwhelmed by those of others, it will be represented through a mixture of colors. A neutral state will result in no variation from their natural hair color.
  • Races: No known subraces.
  • Force Sensitivity: High
Strengths:
  • Improved memory, find it easier to learn and retain new knowledge.
  • Produce potent pheromones that can lull others into a false sense of security.
  • Limited telepathic abilities, can read the emotions of others and project their own into those around them.
  • Natural weapons such as sharp fangs and retractable claws.
  • Improved low-light vision and heightened senses.
  • Agile, light-footed, and possessing cat-like flexibility and reflexes.
  • Highly attuned and sensitive to the Force.
Weaknesses:
  • Difficulty filtering out irrelevant information or keeping thoughts organized.
  • The effect of the pheromones is drastically reduced if the target isn't in close proximity.
  • Susceptible to strong emotions, or those from people they're close to, and can feel them as if they were their own.
  • Claws and fangs may work on a pinch against wild creatures and unarmed opponents, but are pretty useless against anything else.
  • Sharp and unexpected changes, like increased brightness or loud sounds, will leave them momentarily stunned.
  • Easily overpowered by stronger foes, lack the stamina required to endure drawn-out fights.
  • Fields or outside factors that disrupt or disconnect their attunement with the Force will cause massive distress until the connection is reestablished.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Omnivore, with a preference for protein.
  • Communication: Primarily spoken language, with a penchant to roll out their Rs. It's not uncommon for hissing, yowls, low growls, and purrs from their Zygerrian heritage to be vocalized in certain scenarios. The transmission of emotions via telepathy also plays a major role when communicating with others of their kind, though it will be extended to individuals of other species that the Kazelrrian is close or fond of.
  • Technology level: Galactic Standard
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A
  • General behavior:
Kazelrrians are highly curious and social creatures that are almost never found alone, and their empathic nature allows them to mingle with other species outside of their own. Their flexible views allow them to mesh well with the cultures and rules of others, so long as the direction of the community is aligned with their own wants and needs.

Among their kind Kazelrrians will often live in tight family units , though it is not unheard of for these groups to come together and form larger clans. When this occurs the responsibility of parenting and providing for the offsprings will be shared equally among the adults of the pride. This protection is also extended towards older members of the clan, or those too injured or unable to care for themselves. They are welcoming of strangers, though it isn't unheard of for clans to reject or outright attack others if their emotions are sensed to be a threat to the pride.

Their clans often follow a hierarchical governance, with clan leaders often chosen through elections that are loosely revisited if a majority of the clan falls into discontent. While strength is admired it isn't the only quality sought after among balanced clans, and this often leads to a varying array of individuals tasked with the overall affairs and decisions for the clan. Disputes are often resolved among the leading members of familial units, though their empathic natures can cause them to quickly escalate when negative emotions run high. If they're unable to reach an agreement it will be dealt with instead through a jury of peers, with one of the clan leaders having the final say in the matter.

Emotions shape the views of all Kazelrrians. Most members of this species are naturally drawn to the radiance and vibrancy of positive ones, but this is not always the case. Individuals that willfully embrace negative emotions are often shunned and exiled from their original clans.

These individuals are often drawn towards others with similar inclinations, and it’s not unheard of for them to join other groups or form small tribes of their own. Internal hierarchy within these groups is based on a mixture of an individual's strength and mental prowess, with members forced to submit to the leader’s will or be casted out. A tribe member or a newcomer may challenge the current leader for control through mortal combat.

Courting and mating preferences vary greatly among individuals, though they all require a tight emotional bond. Some Kazelrrian seek out a life-long partner, others may have multiple spur of the moment companions, and in some cases they may have none at all. It isn’t unheard of for longtime members of a clan to exchange partners among themselves willingly, but only with the consent of all parties involved.

The Kazelrrians are a crepuscular species, though they are able to adapt their sleeping patterns when necessary.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Kazelrrian are the product of a commission originally placed by House Hakka of the Serenno system. Their request was straightforward—provide them with the perfect pair of killers that science could generate—and Kaminoan geneticist Glorii Te was chosen for the task. House Hakka spared no expenses for the project: a secret laboratory located on a secluded planet, an ample array of genetic samples from the best warriors known throughout the universe, and looots of money.

The first species to be completed were the Firronthix warriors, meant to be the core strength of the requested pair by House Hakka. However the second species proved tougher to nail down and, after numerous failures, he was forced to narrow down the genetic material for the Kazelrrian assassins.

It took years, but eventually the geneticist had enough live specimens of both species for his experiments to proceed. For some death would come from undetected birth defects or unexpected reactions to the plenty of questionable genetic tests that Glorri Te subjected them to during the cusp of their adolescence. Eventually the few remaining would be weeded out against their own peers; only the best of the best would be allowed to move onto the next stage of his experimentation.

Stage two began by finally introducing the Firronthix and the Kazelrrians to one another. Pairs would be formed between them with the overall results of each specimen, and their gender, taken into account for every one. Male Firronthix were paired with female Kazelrrians, and every male Kazelrrian would find a female Firronthix at their side. The pairings were meant to not only compliment the fighting style of each individual, but also foment a strong emotional bond that would eventually lead to the third stage of the project… had it not all suddenly come crashing down.

Less than six months had passed since the pairings began before Glorii Te's experiments were finally interrupted. A pair of Jedi, who had been called to investigate House Hakka by their rivals, were led to the doctor's secret lab on Smarteel. The doctor was detained, and his experiments were discovered.

The rescued specimens were then taken back to Alliance space. Those who showed an affinity with the Force were given the option of joining the Jedi Order, while the remainder were admitted to orphanages or the guardianship of trusted sources until they came of age.

Codex/Factory Moratorium

It is also that time of year that Staff tends to remind everyone that the Factory and Codex will be temporarily closing for the Holiday Season. This information can be found in the Invasion Rules section but it also applies to our creative creation areas to allow our Judges a well-deserved break during a time of family, friends, giving, and massive amounts of hot cocoa.

As with every year, from 12:00 AM EST December 1st 2023 to 11:59PM EST January 8th 2024 the Codex and Factory will be closed for any new submissions.

During this time the following will be in effect:

  • No new submissions will be accepted or judged, any submission that has not been approved will be held in the forums till January 9th, 2023.
  • This means you will not be able to introduce any new submissions into live roleplay until the Codex and Factory open gain on January 9th, 2023.
  • Submission modifications will also not be handled during this time.
  • This does not impact the Pre-Factory/Pre-Codex. As they are no longer monitored you can still use them at your leisure.
