OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: To provide a note worthy police force for Kato'hala and Project Planetary Defense
Canon: Vaathkree
Links: MerrSteel

GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: Kato'es'Vaathkree
Designation: Sentient
Homeworld: Kato'hala
Language: Basic
Average Lifespan: 20 years
Estimated Population: Planetary
Description: A mineral based species, their colors, sizes and like vary, due to absorbing random minerals in their Singer years. They appear to possess an almost chitinous armor, that is comprised of the random materials they have absorbed.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Breathes: Type 1
Average height of adults: 1.9 meters
Average length of adults: None
Skin color: Varies (General mineral colors)
Hair color: None
Distinctions:
  • Singers are a much more liquid variant, not old enough to solidify for the first five years of their lives
  • Adults appear to be beings straight out of comic books, made of the minerals they assimilate during singer state
Races: None

Strengths:
  • MerrSteel - Being that these were a controlled stock, the number one material absorbed by the populace is MerrSteel. The result is a species able to take massive damage and keep ticking
  • Strength - They are rock people. Their muscles are made of friggin stone and MerrSteel. They stronk
Weaknesses:
  • Force - They, as a type, have zero force sensitivity. Not to say they are Force Dead, simply none have the ability to wield it
  • Slow - Made from a material almost too par with Beskar, and heavier in some cases, the speed they possess is incredibly slow
  • Lightning Rod - The biggest inherent weakness they possess, is having absorbed MerrSteel. This makes them a walking lightning rod. Electricty, Sith Lightning, lightning, they all arc directly toward the species even if not a direct target
  • Cold - Like above, they gained the weakness of being outright frosty. This is dangerous should they attempt to restrain someone, or like motions. Its not that they're arctic as a baseline, rather that the colder the surrounding environ, the more deadly they become toward other species
CULTURE
Diet: Omnivorous
Communication: Speech
Technology level: None. They can be tought to handle technology, but as a whole they have developed none for themselves
Religion/Beliefs: None as a general source. Some entities do worship certain gods, some do belief in the Gods of Val'hala for example. But at large they are to short lived and kept at work the moment they become adults
General behavior: Police. One words describes every day behaviors of the species. They spend 75% of the day patrolling the planetary sectors, looking for crimes and on the rare case they find it, apprehending the perpetrators. As well, on those never to happen times yet, they will act as the ground soldiers should there come a battle to the planet.

When it comes to teaching young, they do just as their cousins off world do. While the young move and assimilate, the adults teach them how to best do so, which materials are choice, and what it means to be a proper Kato'es'Vaathkree.

There is no real familial grounds, no friendship. These beings are farmed for their potential. They are fed, housed safely, and trained. That is it.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Once upon a time, Damien Daemon came upon a Vaathkree (it was a real thread i had intended to use as dev, but cannot locate it.) whom spent a time conversing with the then Sith Lord of barter, the art of the sell, and much to do with being a real Vaathkree. Then the conversation was guided by the master manipulator toward the beings unique ability to assimilate materials into their personal chitinous armors. How, how long it takes, methodry taught by adults, basically everything Damien would inevitably need for this very venture, on how one would go about farming the species.

To start, Damien stole fresh young. These began their lifes under belief their adult counters were teaching them as they should, but in reality was a hologram giving lessons. The lessons also pertained absolutely nil toward what the originals had taught him. These were combative, how to shoot weaponry, how to use a melee weapon, the means of being a detective, to track a perp. They were the teachings of a warrior to a now warrior race.

With these lessons, came the food necessary to assimilate for life. Normally the singers were allowed to roam as they saw fit, to absorb into themselves whatever they wished. In this case it was different. Kept in enclosed areas where the only materials to be found were normal rocks, and MerrSteel shards, they were forced to turn into what they do.

Basically, Damien would make the perfect policing units for Kato'hala. They are made to believe Damien is the ultimate mind, to never disobey his orders, that going off world means death, and more.

The largest downside to this is that in turning them into the soldiers with the toughest hides, something changed them. Their bodies begin to show signs of accelerated poisoning around 15 years of age. Not a single specimen has lived past 20. No science can explain it, and if the progenitor race knows why it is occuring, they will not explain.

Nor will they acknowledge the Kato'es'Vaathkree as of their kin.

Should poachers try to make a quick buck, stealing the plates of the species, they will find it is not worth a thing. Without the special blood qualities, the plating becomes incredibly brittle. Worse than glass.

A sub-species of a canon race with only their armored skin and mindset being the differences. Balanced strengths and weaknesses, fairly low population and lifespan restrictions. One thing and I'll stamp this for you: Is it possible to harvest this MerrSteel from Kato'halain Vaathkree that have been killed? If so, how difficult is the process?

Annotate those changes in your submission and tag me when you're done.

Hmm. I had not thought about that..

I would imagine yes it could be, but likely in a much weaker state, after mixing with other sediments...

So i will note that no it cannot.
