ATTRIBUTES:
Friends: Karn has friends in both high and low places throughout the galaxy, giving him leverage in many aspects of politics. However, friends tend to come with their own interests, which can cause harm when those interests are at cross purposes to his.

Fighter: Karn stays in shape, and keeps his fighting skills sharp. He’s never been a soldier, nor an assassin, but he can keep up well in a fight. It is where he learned these skills that are somewhat of an issue, as he developed his fighting skills in underground fight rings on Ord Mantell during his adolescence.

BIOGRAPHY:
Karn Taivos was born on Ord Mantell. Through the years he lived there, the ruling government changed far more often than a stable economy tends to like. The constant shifting allegiances of the overall star system, however, did little to shift how the Underworld operated. Smuggling resources, wealth, and people past the naval assets of one super power was much the same as doing it past another super power. Karn was born into a family with strong ties to the Underworld on Ord Mantell. His mother was a fairly large power in the underworld, while his father was an ambitious politician. These aspects worked unsurprisingly well together, and were taught to Karn and his siblings.

In his adolescent years, Karn worked as an enforcer for his mother’s outfit. When working in this role, he wore a skinfit mask to hide his features. This role forced him to learn to fight in ways that were effective in the street. Nothing flashy, just efficient movements designed to incapacitate or kill your opponent quickly. As he aged, his skills brought him into some of the underground fighting rings, where he held his own, but was careful not to win too often.

Karn’s eldest sibling was tasked with taking over in the political arena, and his next eldest sibling was going to take over for their mother. As the youngest, Karn looked to expand his family’s interests elsewhere, which brought him to Nak Shimor. In his early adulthood, he began entrenching himself in Nak Shimor society as a man who could get things done. He was careful to make sure there was no connection between his illicit dealings and his public face.

When the Republic Remnant took control of the system, Karn was well poised, and well liked enough, to become the Senator representing Nak Shimor.
