PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Kalon is tall, dark skinned, with eyes the color of honey, and hair the color of coal, with thick, expressive brows. He's been called handsome, and often was described as brooding, and scary looking by the children of the Jedi Order, though his smile is said to brighten a room. He's tall, and his time in the Clone Wars allowed him to blossom through puberty, growing from a runt of a boy to a large and well built man. One of the most striking things about Kalon, is his mechanical right arm, having lost the limb from the elbow down to a vibroblade, leaving him with a durasteel prosthetic.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

From his early days as a brash and fierce youngling on Coruscant to his leadership role during the Clone Wars, Kalon's temperament reflects an unyielding determination and endless amounts of hope. His strong connection to the Force and proficiency in lightsaber combat are complemented by a mechanical aptitude, showcasing a curiosity that got him into much trouble as a youngling, but would go on to save the young man's life on more than one occasion where sticking his nose into thing's was beneficial. Despite his initial overconfidence leading to the loss of an arm, Kalon grows and matures throughout his journey, embracing responsibility and adapting to the challenges thrust upon him, shouldering the weight of the lives placed under his command, and learning what it means to be a leader. His romantic feelings for his fellow Jedi Relya and the Chiss Ilana highlight a softer, emotional side that was never given a chance to foster during war, and during the years spent fleeing from the Empire, both have left indelible marks on his psyche, scarring the Korun in more ways than physically. Emerging from an eight-century stasis, Kalon's personality bears the weight of past traumas, yet he stands ready to rebuild his life in a galaxy vastly different from the one he once knew, and to grow from the weight of his past.

Kalon is no longer the mischevious youngling, or the bold and brave Jedi General who led a legion, he's not even the mercenary who only sought peace in a Galaxy plagued by evil. What's left after 800 years and the deaths of two families, is a sad, confused and bitter man, who has no clue who to trust and is alone in a Galaxy that's left him behind.

STRENGTHS

Jedi General - In a time long past and long forgotten under a different name, Kalon was a warrior, a Jedi General who'd spent some of his most formative years fighting on the front lines of the Clone War against the CIS. During this time, Kalon, then Ronan, had learned what it meant to be a leader of men, and what it meant to fight in battle and survive. During his time in the war, Kalon fought and survived against scores of droids, mercenary armies and even a few Dark Side Adepts, by the end of the war, Kalon was a confident and talented general, and the veteran of dozens of battles. A gifted duelist, and highly skilled in his utilization of the Force, at the time of his internment Kalon was every bit as dangerous on the run from the Empire as he was at the head of a Legion of Clone Troopers.

Mechanical Aptitude: Kalon's early interest and aptitude for mechanics allow him to understand and tinker with technology. This skill proved invaluable for repairing and modifying equipment, his droids, and even his starships when the time came.

WEAKNESSES

Bold New World - After being in stasis for eight centuries, Kalon lacks knowledge of the current state of the galaxy. He has no allies to speak of, and no one to call upon should he find himself in need of assistance, he only possesses the clothes on his back, and the lightsabers that he carried during his final confrontation with the Empire.

Trauma - Kalon witnessed the fall of the Jedi Order during Order 66 and experienced betrayal by the clones he once led. After that, he was again betrayed by a member of the brotherhood he'd spent years fighting alongside, leading to the death of his family and friends twice over. This traumatic experience has left deep scars on his mental and emotional well-being, impacting decision-making and interactions.

HISTORY

Ronan Syral, known also as Hrak’alo’nysal, or by his core name Kalon Sal is a human force-sensitive born on Corellia to Jun Syral, a Korun immigrant, and Lana Arris, the daughter of a wealthy Corellian merchant family.

Born as the youngest of four children Ronan was the only of his family that exhibited force sensitivity, something that came as a surprise to his Korun father, who’d expected all of his children to possess the trait given their heritage. Though born to a large family Ronan was loved and doted on especially by his father, who hoped to pass along the customs of his people to his youngest son in time. Sadly this would not come to be as Ronan was discovered by Jedi at the age of three, and after a long discussion was reluctantly handed over to the Order in hopes of refining his skill.

As a youngling Ronan was curious, brash, and fierce, with a temper that challenged a rancors. He was sorted into the Clawmouse Clan, most of whom were as wild as he was, and the group had gained a reputation around the temple as troublemakers, something that mattered little to the Corellian. Growing up Ronan showed an aptitude for mechanics, and would often tinker with whatever old droid he could get his hands on.

When it came time for Ronan to go to Illum along with his clan he was ecstatic, being among the first to rush into the caves and search for his crystal. Through trial and error the youngling would learn a great many lessons from his time there, and leave with two Kyber crystals, a rare feat.

Upon returning to Coruscant, Ronan wasted no time in practicing with his lightsaber, and immediately took to training. Though his brash nature would bring him into conflict with another youngling by the name of Syn Viskal, the pair would become close friends, along with Miriluka Raelak, who taught Ronan the basics of Force sight, something that he’d make extensive use of during the Clone Wars.

When the time came for the Initiate Trials, Ronan passed with flying colors, scoring high in philosophy, athletics and lightsaber dueling, though his use of the Force was lacking, he’d still managed to rank among the highest of the would be Padawans. Such was the young boy's skill that he had gained the attention of the blue-skinned Jedi Master Kenuro, a respected albeit enigmatic member of the Jedi Order and one time Council Member.

After the Trials Ronan would train with Kenuro over the course of a few months while on Coruscant, preparing for a years long journey across the Galaxy to learn the ways of the Jedi. Training would consist of conditioning of the body and mind, after that Ronan was permitted to begin his formal training with a lightsaber and advanced use of his Force abilities. Kenuro was a masterful duelist, skilled in his use of Makashi and and Form IVs Djem So variant, though try as he might, Ronan was unsuited to Makashi, his tendency for aggressive and relentless attacks made him more suited for Ataru and Djem So, and would practice both religiously.

As a Korun, Ronan had a natural aptitude for using the Force and picked up new concepts fairly well, though he was innately skilled in the use of Shatterpoint, though was encouraged to foster this ability on his own.

Near the end of his galactic journey, Ronan was tasked with leading a group of Peacekeepers against a crew of pirates plaguing the Mid Rim. The mission was a success, though through overconfidence Ronan would lose an arm in the process, a wound that would scar him, though Ronan would eventually recover with assistance from his master. The loss of limb would spark immense growth from the young man, as an air of maturity settled around him, and he took his responsibilities as a Jedi more seriously, spending much time training with his new arm.

With the outset of the Clone Wars and the massive loss of life at the First Battle of Geonosis, Ronan was promoted to Jedi Knight for his participation in the battle and the need for more Jedi. Before his departure from Coruscant to the battlefront, Ronan would confess his feelings toward a fellow Jedi by the name of Relya Voranis, and although his feelings were reciprocated, the war and their allegiance to the Jedi Order would make any sort of relationship impossible, Ronan was resolved to find a way for them to be together after the war.

Ronan would be charged with the leadership of the 12th Legion under the 63rd Corps led by his master Kenuro. During the war Ronan would lead his men in some of the fiercest fighting he’d ever seen, growing his own skill as the war progressed, bonding with the clones under his command as they undertook increasingly dangerous missions at the edge of Republic space. He would go on to fight with many of his childhood friends, including Raelak, and Syn, both of whom would save his life on more than one occasion.

By the war's second year Ronan had gained command of a Praetor-Class Battlecruiser named the Mercurial Dawn and the 104th Battle Group, specialized for heavy assaults on CIS worlds. Ronan would gain a reputation for his bold tactics and fierce determination in the face of the massive defeats suffered in the Second year of the war, earning the nickname of the Dragon of the Outer Rim, though he liked to think it was also because of his mastery over Djem So. As the Outer Rim Sieges set in and the war settled into its final stages after the Battle of Coruscant, Ronan was granted a final chance to see Relya over Coruscant while both of their forces prepared for the final push of the war. The words exchanged were short, for Roman was no poet, but they left, sealing their affections with a kiss, and a promise to find one another at the victory celebration.

Ronan's final battle was over Sluis Van, a brutal slogging match between his fleet and the Separatists, a victory that would have resulted in the capture of the largest remaining Separatist shipyard. The battle was hard fought, and more than once Ronan feared the defenses of the planet were too strong for even the might of his Battlecruiser. Eventually Victory would come, and with the Separatist fleet scattered and the shipyard secured, all that remained was the planetary assault. Ronan had planned to join the first wave, and was happy to see the war ending, though his happiness was destroyed as he felt a crucial shatterpoint break, and Order 66 went out, signaling the deaths of Jedi across the Galaxy.

Ronan had been on the bridge at the time with Kenuro planning the assault when the clones turned on the pair. They were quick to defend themselves but ensuing combat aboard the Battlecruiser was fierce, and resulted in Ronan setting the ship on a collision course with the shipyards, disabling the Mercurial Dawn, and destroying the orbital shipyards. Ronan and Kenuro escaped on an ARC-170, and from there were able to steal a freighter and make their way to Csilla, where they pleaded with the Ascendancy to fight for the restoration of the Galactic Republic. The Ruling Families granted the two Jedi sanctuary as long as they pleased, but one thing was made clear: The Chiss Ascendancy would not play a part in the affairs of the greater galaxy.

Disheartened and tired, the Jedi did indeed take sanctuary in the underground cities of Csilla, and for a year lived there, preparing for an eventual return to the known galaxy. It was during that year that Kenuro formally adopted Ronan as his son, and granted him the Chiss name Hrak’alo’nysal during which Ronan began going by his core name of Kalon, or Kalon Sal for purposes of anonymity. Ronan, now Kalon, also learned the Cheunh language during his time there, and began a relationship with the Sky-Walker Marinei’lan'amoh (Ilana), who would eventually join the Jedi on their return trip.

Upon their return to Imperial Space, Kalon and his companions set themselves up on Dantooine, and Kalon began working with as a mercenary, joining the Silver Company, a small but skilled organization that would teach the young man many of the skills he’d come to rely on during his flight from the Empires Jedi hunters.

For years, Kalon, Kenuro and Ilana would live somewhat peacefully, evading the Empire, and carving out something resembling a decent life under the boot of tyranny. It wouldn’t be meant to last however, as after a long time of peace, it would all come to a violent and screeching head. While over the planet Teth, home to the headquarters of Silver Company, Kalon and his companions would be betrayed by one of the members of the mercenary group, and would find themselves pursued by the Empire in earnest, forced to fight for their lives on the planet. The fight was fierce, taking place in the fortress monastery the mercenaries called home; there they would make a valiant stand against the Empire, but would slowly be cut down to a man, until only a scant few were left standing.

Kalon, wounded, and fading in and out of consciousness would be unable to finish the fight, and in a final act of love and desperation by Ilana and Kenuro, would be interred in the medical wing of the base, placed in stasis pod and bacta applied to his wounds. Kenuro, Illana, and the rest of the Silver Company would leave the man, sealed in a stasis pod in hopes that someone would find and revive him one day, they’d say their final goodbyes, and fight furiously to their bitter end against the Empire. For eight long centuries, Kalon would remain in stasis, hidden and forgotten as the Galaxy at large changed and evolved, turning into something unrecognizable.

Eventually [Insert name here] would discover the interred Jedi deep in the ancient fortress-monastery, and free him from his near millenia long sleep. Shaken and confused, Kalon would see the Galaxy he now resided in, and weep for the loss of everyone he every knew, and prepare to rebuild the life he’d lost.
