Corporation Name: Kallisto Mining Company

Headquarters: Isis (Anoat Sector)

Locations: Crystal Valley near to Neskroff

Operations: Mines crystals and extracts ore and minerals for sale across the galaxy. Manufactures jewelry both custom and mass-produced.

Rationale: Centuries ago the Kallisto Royal family was exiled from Naboo and settled on Isis, founding the Kallisto Mining Company in order to mine the valuable minerals and ore found in the Crystal Valleys, which were a prevalent natural resource on the planet. After her parents were executed, and when she turned eighteen, Princess Thais Kallisto inherited the company and took the helm as acting CEO.

Tier: 2

Description: The Kallisto Mining Company is located in a large Crystal Valley outside of the only planetary spaceport and city of Neskroff. It is the biggest mining operation on the planet, employs a total of 2,000 workers and utilizes another 13,000 slaves, most of them native Gutretee. Once the crystals are mined they are refined into various types of ore and minerals to export, including: gold, diamonds, iron pyrite, hematite, argentite, magnetite, beryl, galena, and chalcocite, granite, marble, quartz, amethyst, garnet, calcite and dolomite to name a few. Many of these minerals are used not just for jewelry but for building materials - both in structures and starships, and as sources of chemical production like sulfur dioxide, sulfuric acid, solar panels, and cathode material used in batteries.

The Kallisto Mining Company also features a large workshop where rarer crystals are cut and polished into precious gems and jewelry. Some of the jewelry is mass produced and exported and others are made by artisans by special request.

Recently the governor of Neskroff sent an order to Princess Kallisto to abandon her practice of slavery and free the Gutretee slaves who make up most of her mining staff. So far she has complied with their orders and has agreed to replace the Gutretee slaves with non-Gutretee slaves or migrant workers.
