KALDAR BEROYA

BACKGROUND

Born on the frigid world of Kestri, Kaldar Beroya was instilled with Mandalorian values from a very young age. Under the tutelage of his parents and elders in Clan Beroya, Kaldar was trained to become a beskar-clad warrior destined to serve among the finest of the Mandalorian Enclave.

When the Yuzhan Vong emerged on Kestri, Kaldar's childhood was upended in dramatic fashion. The resulting fighting took the lives of both his parents and ravaged Clan Beroya, leaving Kaldar to be raised by his clan elders. He was forever scarred from the experience, developing a relentless hatred for the Vong that remains to this day.

The attack on Kestri further solidified Kaldar's commitment to the Mandalorian way of life. Channeling his rage into brutal close-quarters attacks, he soon gained a reputation as an incredibly tough if somewhat reckless combatant.

Yet it would not be until Kaldar first mounted his Basilisk that he could truly tame his rage. The young Mandalorian had a natural talent for riding the Basilisk, wielding the mechanical monster as if it were an extension of his own body.

On his eighteenth birthday, Kaldar at last proved his worth and ascended to adulthood, gifted the master-crafted blade Yustapi'da to aid him in battle. Two years later he received the warhammer Brokurdenn, alternating between blade and hammer depending on the type of foe he expected to face.

Since turning twenty-one, Kaldar has continued to refine his skill in battle while blazing his own path towards glory for himself and his clan.

PERSONALITY

A proud Mandalorian warrior first and foremost, Kaldar strives to uphold the legacy of the Mandalorians and honor his forefathers in Clan Beroya. Young and bold, Kaldar will never turn down an adventure or a chance to do battle in defense of his homeworld Kestri or his clan kin.

In battle, Kaldar specializes in lightning raids from atop his Basilisk as well as savage close quarters combat using sword, fist, and flamethrower to tear apart his enemies limb by limb. Fanatical in his determination to protect his people by slaying his foes, Kaldar will often seek out enemy leaders to duel in order to both metaphorically and literally decapitate his foes' war effort.

Outside of combat and far-flung expeditions, Kaldar is far from idle. Though instinctively suspicious of those outside the Iron Covenant, to his fellow Mandalorians Kaldar is energetic and sociable. Though he prefers the company of Clan Beroya above all others, Kaldar also enjoys interacting with like-minded members of other clans, especially over a good drink.

Kaldar has many hobbies, the most notable of which is his passion for fishing. Ever since he was a boy, he has had a soft spot for sea creatures and views catching especially large or legendary aquatic beasts as an epic battle beyond compare. He also enjoys to tinker with machinery, both to repair damaged equipment and improve upon existing models. Kaldar is outdoorsy and enjoys hiking, especially when joined by others while ascending challenging treacherous slopes.
