Description: The main tarmac is a continuously-reinforced duracrete square of 200m by 200m, with 45 cm thickness, and a drainage system so that the rainfalls or dust storms could safely be drained away from the spaceport's premises. The control tower, which is, from the ground side of the airport, on the left (and at the southeast corner of the spaceport), contains a standard sensor array for traffic control, as it is not expected that Kaeshana would see heavy traffic. The terminal, built on the east side of the spaceport, is opposite the main hypermatter reservoir on the west side. Nevertheless, 100 long-term parking slots are made available for speeders. Due to the sparse population, the First Order decided to build a pretty diminutive spaceport size on Kaeshana, but to nevertheless take into account the local needs.
History: During the Kaeshana campaign, several regions were devastated by the combat that took place there, or by falling debris from the space battle above. In hopes of re-settling Kaeshana, a basic spaceport was built by Star Tours under a public-private partnership, so that resettling efforts would have a staging point for further work. Due to the lessons of NIMBY factors, based on the expectations of rebuilding even a small fraction of Santaissa and the surrounding cities, it was decided to build the diminutive spaceport some distance away from Santaissa. Also, given that the chosen location had no access to highways, the First Order also needed to rebuild the highway infrastructure for the wheeled/tracked vehicles, knowing not every resident of Kaeshana, nor the companies expected to take part in the reconstruction efforts, will be expected to use conventional speeders.
