PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Kade is tall and toned, his skin is the deep red akin to Sith Purebloods, darkening toward the brow and knuckles. Tendrils frame his jaw and trail from his cheekbones in the pattern common to his house, and his ears are long and back-swept. His eyes are the natural yellow of his species.

The golden plating over his nasal ridge and between his brows is implanted, he wears uniformed blacks with the collar high and closed, the tailoring is immaculate and very slightly out of date. His hair is worn long and swept back, oiled flat. He does not fidget and does not gesture when he speaks.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

He believes in competence and he believes in leverage, and he has arranged his life so that the two are the same thing. He does not believe the Force makes anyone worthy. He has watched too many gifted people die stupidly and too many ungifted people survive to think otherwise. That said, he sometimes uses his species and those who know about it as a means to seem more powerful than he actually is.

Underneath the discipline is an old, unhealed wound. He was raised to be a weapon of the dark side and turned out to be an ordinary man with a red face, and some part of him has never stopped trying to prove that the testing was wrong about what he was worth. He does not want to be loved. He wants to be seen as competent, powerful.

STRENGTHS

  • Tradecraft. Dead drops, surveillance and counter-surveillance, cover identities, document forgery, recruitment and handling of assets.
  • Reads people ruthlessly well. He watches hands, breathing, and what people choose not to say, and he has an excellent memory for piecing information together that would otherwise seem irrelevant.
  • Composure under pressure. He has been trained for discipline, and whether it's a tense social situation or being in an open battlefield, he can stay calm, adapt and improvise.

WEAKNESSES

  • No Force sensitivity at all. Despite his species, he has a very weak connection to the force, practically having no force talent whatsoever.
  • The wound about worth. Tell him a job is impossible for a man like him and he will take it.
  • Isolated by design. He chooses to work alone or at the very least if he has to work with others, he doesn't trust them outright.

HISTORY

He was born to House Rennick, a lesser Pureblood line whose fortunes rested entirely on producing Force-strong children for the Sith. He was born as the eldest son. At nine his brow was gilded and he was tested for his force sensitivity. Nothing. They tested him twice more over the following two years, on the theory that late awakenings happen. They do not, generally, and they did not here. He was recorded as a failure and legally not apart of House Rennick before he even became a teenager.

What followed was not cruelty so much as reallocation. They decided that he could be useful in other ways, but weren't expecting much. They paid a third-party friend of the family (with close ties to Nar Shadda and organised crime) to work with them. He was started off on simple logistics, but as he learned more about how criminals operated, he was brought along to heists and cons. He was to never use his last name, but just his first would be fine. He learned how to avoid the eye of the law, take on cover identities, forgery, and how to defend himself as needed.

Once he was too deep in, his family had pulled him out, afraid that he'd end in a situation in which he could shame the family, and given two choices; exile, or serving the Imperials. There was an emphasis on the "exile" meaning the end of his life, and basic survival instinct made him pick the latter. He originally joined the army, but once his skillset was made more apparent, he was transferred to intelligence divisions.

The next two decades were spent in the field. He ran assets on a dozen worlds, built and burned through many separate cover identities, and specialized in the kind of work that requires walking into a secure facility and being greeted with a salute, due to his appearance. He'd often abuse fake connections with Sith Lords or tyrannical authority figures to get his way.

He is still in the field. He is very good at it. And he has begun, lately if there's more than to being what he is, and what he does.
