HISTORICAL INFORMATION
While they have been on Dromund Kaas for as long as the Sith could remember, only recently have the nature of these animals been truly studied. During ancient times of the Sith Empire these creatures would become mounts of war, ridden into battle. They're ferociousness made them extremely intimidating to enemies. As the rise of technology would eventually come, so did the concept that the need for live mounts would be discarded.

The years would pass on by, the creation of Sith spawns that were greater and more obedient to their masters came, and the Drakegator would become more of test of strength and competence rather than an ally for the Sith. Many Sith apprentices would fall the claws of the Drakegator, and when it was finally determined that the results were less than pleasing the creature was once again left alone.

Now, with the rise of the new Sith Empire, the Sith find need for beasts in battle, and the Drakegator once again finds itself by the sides of Sith Knights.

Though, because of the bacteria in it's mouth, many Sith must be careful when trying to tame one as a bite can leave one very sick, including sepsis. These bacteria are caused by the hording habits it will use during cold weather on it's food. Drakegators will horde killed prey during winter seasons, and even though the meat can be toxic, these animals are capable of digesting it without worrying of sickness as they have very strong stomachs and digestive system like most reptiles do.

Drakegators do not need to eat a lot, they can break down food slowly, drawing out the nutrients slowing over a period of time. This usually takes a whole week to break down food. Usually, they can eat up to their own body weight at in one meal, which is roughly 300 pounds.
