STRENGTHS

• Covert: The K.R.C Surveillance Program is designed to not be seen, heard or known about by others outside of the Kenari Resource Compact and it's manufacturer N&Z Umbrella Corporation. This is particularly true for specific individuals or organisations that the program is used to survey and follow.
• Information: This program has the ability to store many terabytes of data within it's vaults with technology designed to churn that data into useable information or intelligence.
• Malleable: The program has the ability to take up many forms in order to perform it's surveillance on others. It could appear as a satellite orbiting a planet or moon as well as a monitor on board a ship or an everyday commonly used datapad. Whatever object or technology there are it is possible that it could be something that has been corrupted by this program in order to listen, track or record information on the people that come into contact with it.
• Self-Destruct: The technology corrupted by this program has the ability to destroy itself. This could come in a variety of forms including the tech in question suddenly becoming unfunctional; the inability for the device in question to be recovered or repaired; or by an inbuilt explosive designed to destroy the technology. If the program thinks that you have discovered it then it will go to extreme lengths to cover itself up.

WEAKNESSES

• Inferior Successor: The K.R.C Surveillance Program is an inferior successor to it's predecessor colloquially known by a few as the ' Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats Initiative ' or ' DSDT Program - #419420-1129391-418525 ' . This is because it's predecessor included manned surveillance outposts located across the former territories of the Empire of the Lost of which the K.R.C Surveillance Program does not possess. With little manpower and financial backing in comparison to the past (as it's predecessor was backed by an Imperial state) there are drawbacks that a manned and well provisioned outpost could provide. Examples of this could be blind spots in surveillance or information being buried by a swath of data that cannot be properly disseminated or put under analysis.
• Leaks: The existence of this technology and the surveillance program that it provides is suspect to being leaked by members of the Kenari Resource Compact or N&Z Umbrella Corporation. Conversely (due to the implied drawbacks stated in the weakness ' Inferior Successor ' ) it is suspect to discovery by members of the High Republic (or by other third parties) particularly when the technology is being used to survey or spy on them.
• The Force: An Force-sensitive is culpable to sensing or inexplicably knowing that they are being surveyed, followed or spied upon by this technology if they so wish to choose roleplaying as such if this submission is used on them.
• No Resilience to Change: If the High Republic were to stop being a major faction on the board then this program and it's technology would become so obsolete as to be compared to as useless. This is because the information would either become old or it would be inconsequential to be of used anymore.
• Explicit Permission from Other Writers: This submission cannot be used against other characters if I do not have the permission to use it by the writers of said characters. In order to use this technology in roleplay I must ask others if I can use this technology to record, manufacture or produce information about their characters to be used by myself or provided to other people's characters by me. If I do not have this permission then the technology cannot be used as per the means and details provided in ' Strengths ' and the description below.

DESCRIPTION

In the year 905 ABY a new form of surveillance was created clandestinely in the High Republic by the Dark Lord of the Sith known as Her.

Controlled and operated by the Kenari Resource Compact (a minor mining consortium based in the Kenari system) it is the successor to a former surveillance program which was previously launched in the Empire of the Lost five years ago. The technology and it's mechanisms are therefore distinctly Imperial in origin and was manufactured by a galactic spanning conglomerate called the N&Z Umbrella Corporation whom also have access to the technology and the surveillance that it employs across the star systems of the High Republic.

The purpose of this technology (and it's creation) is to gather information and data on individuals, organisations and events whom either operate, live or happen in the star systems represented in the High Republic. Unlike it's predecessor (which masqueraded as a security branch for the Empire of the Lost so it could operate clandestinely among the Imperials) this program does not have to lie and obfuscate it's existence or purpose to those whom are aware of the technologies existence. This is because the technologies existence and subsequent use is obvious to the small handful of people who know about it: it is there to learn secrets and to teach it's users things about others for the purposes of blackmail or other covert forms of espionage i.e spying.

There are drawbacks compare to it's predecessor, however. In the past (when this technology was used in a similar fashion in the Empire of the Lost) it had access to hundreds of listening and surveillance outposts which were predominantly operated (back then) in the star systems housed by the Tion Hegemony and Ash Worlds where manned crews (financed by the Imperial state whom supported it) gathering surveillance, information and intelligence on the behalf of the New Imperial Security Bureau. Now, five years later, as the technology was supplanted across the star systems represented in the High Republic, it does not have such manpower or the finances to back it's operation instead relying upon the theatrics of individuals with access to the technology (i.e Her) in order to gather surveillance and supply information with the technology resulting in the slower acquisition of useable intel for the purposes of blackmailing or performing espionage on others coming and going from the star systems that it is deployed in.

In summary this technology is the latest version of the infrastructure invented by Her for the purposes of gathering information, intelligence, data and surveillance on people of interest after becoming an Imperial expat on the planet Enarc. With the things that Her discovers and learns (with this technology) in the High Republic it is later intended to be used for the purposes of continuing a new version of the Grand Plan.
