  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: The Kür’än
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Kür’än Foundries
  • Affiliation: The Kür’än
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Clear Plastic, durasteel components, copper wiring, focal-lenses.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Micro-graspers for memory and DNA harvesting
  • Low-power cutting laser
  • Saline-filtration system
STRENGTHS
  • Energy efficient; requires very little energy to operate
  • Well-Hidden; while they are typically located within Kür’än foundries and cloning labs, their location within said places are often well off the beaten path so to speak
WEAKNESSES
  • Glaring weak-spot; it is built only to operate, not to be protected (no resistances)
  • Slow to operate; because of sub-par coding (see description), this machine can only perform one function at a time
DESCRIPTION
“Sometimes the Kür’än need a specific set of skills for something, this is how they obtain those skills.” -some dead guy.
Kür’än harvesting vats are used for harvesting desirable DNA strands and useful knowledge from brains. While most are used for the retrieval of Kür’än DNA and memories, they can be used to rip information out of other species’ brains. So long as the brains in question have been removed and preserved, as clinically dead brains cannot provide reliable information from their neurons. This is because when neurons atrophy from lack of oxygen (or other life-giving substances) they become unviable for “cracking.”
“Cracking” in question is when the machine taps into a neutral network directly, collecting information in the form of data. While these machines are one of the few technologies that the Kür’än do program, it’s coding is far from advanced, only going as far as performing one task at a time. The tasks themselves, cracking and harvesting DNA, usually take around three hours and one hour respectively.
Unnecessary physical matter is usually cut off and pulled downward into an unseen compartment inside the machine, when the brain is unable to produce any more DNA or information, it is discarded here as well. When all tasks are completed, the discarded scraps are minced and filtered into a carrion chamber, which is cleaned out by-weekly.
Harvested DNA strands are stored inside small, clear canisters within the machine, which are dispensed into a trough for collection when DNA harvests are completed. DNA harvesting takes place after neuron cracking is completed, unless specified otherwise from a control panel fitted into any nearby wall. DNA strands are typically harvested from the brain stem, and analyzed by a Kür’än cloning technician after harvesting to verify the genetic sequence and viability of use within new Kür’än embryos. Those strands deemed unviable are typically dumped into carrion bowls to be decomposed and ground up for consumption.
While this is a reliable method of prisoner interrogation, it is seldom used as most machines are found in cloning labs or foundries, therefore placed in very important locations. Therefore, they are only used if it is deemed explicitly necessary. Removal of prisoners brains is also typically performed within said important locations.
