Sluis Van Shipyards
Planetary Hour: 11:30 A.M
Repair Bay 117
It had been less than a few days since she left the comfort of her home on Tash-Taral, if one could consider that truly a home. Between the ship that [member="Kaia Starchaser"] brought and her damaged XJ9 Prototype, they managed to clean up what they needed to and get her moved off planet without any real issues – however, the XJ9 needed service, badly. Unfortunately, Mira wasn’t the type to allow just anyone to touch her coveted Starfighter so with the assistance of Incom technicians – repairs began on the vessel to restore it to factory new conditions, with Mira hovering over every move they made. Unfortunately for her, that meant sleep was something she had to sacrifice. Between the oddball shifts and Sneaker going back and forth between the ship and maintenance for himself – she was running on fumes. For now, it seemed the teams were taking a break, given most of the ship repairs and maintenance was complete – which was a good thing for Mira.

She could finally rest, of course after she had hit the refresher…nothing says gross like months on a desert planet with limited supplies to keep oneself clean. Thankfully, she wasn’t too gross – Kaia was partially responsible for that. Rest didn’t come easy, or even in a bed for that matter, instead she found herself on a stack of crates filled with used parts. She fluffed her flight jacket up and rolled it up under her head, tucking her legs up tight against her buttocks as the sounds of whirling machines and various noises in the background became a sweet, soothing tune to her ears. They put her mind at ease, slowly sending her into a deep slumber. It wasn’t long before she was on her back, arm flopped over the side of the crate, snoring as loud as a herd of banthas – yeah, rest well deserved.

Being a part of a large operation was something I never thought I’d be a part of. For the longest time it was just Ibaris and I roaming the galaxy causing chaos or whatever. Guess the whole growing up thing started to kick in and now I was helping out under the Galactic Alliance on a shipyard when I was grounded. Being planet-side so much was weird and I’m sure it was weird for Ibby as well, but she’s been getting her training in. I bet she’s happy about that. I lifted one of the crates and started to walk down the long hanger like structure, I wasn’t allowed to use the forklift yet mostly because the last time I did – I decided to crash it into a pile of new Incom ships. So now I just get my work out in carrying the crates from point A to point B.

The crates that I was heading towards was a pile I hadn’t visited in some time, which would explain why the crate I was lugging was like 500lbs. Setting the crate down I wiped my brow with the back of my forearm, which didn’t do much for the sweat that had gathered there. The ends of my hair were damp and my cool guy look was ruined. I removed one of the gloves off my hand and reached into my back pocket to pull out a rag that doubled as a bandana, just to keep the sweat out of my eyes. Tying the maroon cloth around my head, I adjusted it for my ears and then wiped my hands on the white and now stained black tanktop I was wearing. Then hoisted the crate back into my arms and half jogged towards the pile. Dropping the box as soon as I got there, I realized a HORRIBLY LOUD NOISE. Taking a step back, I wondered what or who was in the pile making that horrible noise and then frowned wondering if it was Craig again who liked to lazier than a bantha.

Moving the crates that were blocking my view, I started to see the figure – which wasn’t the overweight man slug that was named Craig. It was a girl, and not just any girl – it was Mira. I stood there for a second dumbfounded as I hadn’t seen this girl for a few years – she had stopped calling and answering my calls after a horrible moment under a waterfall. I was beyond embarrassed that night and figured she laughed the whole way home. A greased glove rubbed against the back of my neck as I pondered on just walking away, it was obvious she didn’t want to see me again after that night of utter failure – but maybe…

Creeping over, I removed the work gloves from my hands and tossed them aside. I brought my face close to her and blinked then softly blew into her ear and poked her cheek. “Oy spare parts aren’t the best place to catch a few Z’s there Mesh’la” I remained slightly close, but at a comfortable distance from her so she wouldn’t get freaked out. The last thing I need was another kick the in the balls from a girl – especially her. Well the last time was a metaphorical kick in the balls…yeah yeah you know what I mean.

Mira let out a soft groan as the breath of Liam passed over her ear, her groaning would attract the attention of a small protector – Sneaker came around the ship in such a hurry that he crashed into some loose parts with a slight banging noise, only to see Liam encroaching on his Master’s space. The droid would let out a flat, disappointing and loud warble as he approached the boy and extended his electric prod towards him. He would continue to make odd noises and send out tiny bursts of electricity in the direction of Liam, as if he were trying to herd him back from Mira. It wasn’t that Sneaker didn’t like [member="Liam Quez"], it was quite the opposite, more so, he no longer trusted the boy after the night on Yavin IV. The elevated that in which Mira returned that night meant one of two things – both to which displeased the droid, maybe Aaralyn had tampered with his programming after all.

Mira stirred on the box and rolled to her side, letting out a loud sigh. “You two can stop at any time and just let me rest…” She murmured. “It’s like fighting over a toy, except only one of you wanted the toy at some point.” A soft chuckle passed through her lips, almost lazily as she tried to fall back asleep – which at this point, would prove impossible. She had sensed Liam when he had gotten close to her, she knew that feeling – a sensation she had buried months ago. A stinging sensation in her chest at the mere mention of his name, maybe even someone she wished had become a faded memory. Of course, as she knew – she couldn’t run from her past. It wasn’t that she had forgotten her feelings for him or that he wasn’t a nice guy, just reality was exactly as it was – their paths weren’t aligned the way that maybe they once thought.

Something she had to get over, something she had to grow up with – be a big girl about. Now, it was time to be cordial and be a friend, regardless of whatever she had felt.
