OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a codex entry for the "Junkyard Knights of Mahporeem", Mahporeem's first combat unit made up entirely of force users.
  • Image Credit: Unfortunately Pinterest, though allegedly created by Talon M. Newton.
  • Role:
    • Elite Infantry
    • Force Sensitive Infantry
  • Permissions: Mykel Dawson, permission given here.
  • Links: Imperial Knights.
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Junkyard Knights of Mahporeem.
  • Affiliation:
  • Classification:
    • Elite Infantry
    • Force Sensitive Infantry
  • Description: Between Laphisto's failed attempt to take over the Diarchy and the subsequent collapse of that major faction, many Brotherhood acolytes suddenly found themselves in actively hostile territory, forcing them to flee for their very lives. With few planets that they could travel to, many of these ex-Diarchian soldiers sought out the relative safety of Mahporeem, where the Imperial Remnant welcomed them with open arms. To take advantage of this sudden influx of force users, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant created the "Junkyard Knights of Mahporeem", an officially sanctioned combat unit consisting of ex-Diarchy and Galactic Alliance force sensitives, though those hailing from former Diarchy territory vastly outnumber those from the Galactic Alliance.
COMBAT INFORMATION
Strengths:
  • Devastating melee combatants: All Junkyard Knights are devastatingly effective melee combatants, whether with vibroweapons or lightsabers
  • Pew pew pew: Unlike more traditional Jedi or Sith, Junkyard Knights have no qualms about utilizing ranged weaponry to defeat their foes, sometimes using these weapons in tandem with their Junk Sabers
  • Force sensitive: All Junkyard Knights are highly proficient in the use of the force, being able to cast a variety of different force powers depending on what it needed in the moment
  • Hack the system: In particular, Junkyard Knights are trained in Mechu-deru, Electronic Manipulation and other force abilities that allow them to control enemy droids and electronic systems, making them especially well suited to fighting inorganic enemies
  • UNLIMITED POWER: Junkyard Knights are extensively trained in the use of force lightning, being able to cast both Electric Judgement and Ionize
  • Enhancement: Junkyard Knights can enhance the abilities of themselves and their allies by casting Force Valor or Force Enrage
  • Fast: Due to their force enhancement and light armor, Junkyard Knights are especially fast moving and agile, making them difficult to pin down in combat
Weaknesses:
  • Small: Of all the special force unit in service with the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, the Junkyard Knights are by far the numerically smallest and hardest to replace should they fall in battle
  • Discrimination: Mahporeenians tend to view force users with suspicion, which can make it difficult for the Junkyard Knights to work with them
  • Rivalry: The Junkyard Knights of Mahporeem have a fierce rivalry with Salvage Team Six and other elite units, which can potentially lead to inter-service conflicts among the different branches of Mahporeem's military
  • Force suppression: The Junkyard Knights are considerably less effective in battle when under the effects of force nullification and suppression, which prevents them from utilizing their full range of abilities
  • Difficult: Due to Mahporeem's heavy investment into anti-force technology, it can be difficult for the Junkyard Knights of Mahporeem to work alongside other Mahporeemian units
  • Temptation: Junkyard Knights who use the Dark Side of the Force excessively may fall to its temptations, turning them against the Imperial Remnant
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

During the course of its war against the Sith Order, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant came to a rather unfortunate conclusion over the course of the conflict, that being that the best counter to a force user was in fact another force user. Unfortunately for Mahporeem, force sensitivity was virtually nonexistent on the planet, forcing the Imperial Remnant to develop artificial solutions to help combat the Sith and their Sithspawn abominations. That, however, would all change after the collapse of the Diarchy.

Unwilling to follow Laphisto after his attempted coup of the faction, and suddenly surrounded by legions of hostile Mandalorian Empire troops, the members of the Brotherhood were forced to flee for their lives as they sought refugee within more friendly territories, one such location being the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant. Having taken significant losses of their own against the Sith, and lacking any real way of combating their force users, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant decided to welcome these refugees with open arms, creating the "Junkyard Knights of Mahporeem" for them to serve in.

To ensure unit cohesiveness and member recognition, and to help with replacement of equipment lost in the mad scramble to get to Mahporeem, the Imperial Remnant created a variety of specialized equipment for the Junkyard Knights to utilize in combat, such as Junkyard Knight Armor and Junk Sabers. It is hoped that this equipment, combined with the force abilities of the Junkyard Knights, will finally provide the Imperial Remnant with a unit capable of taking on both Jedi and Sith on equal terms, without having to rely on Mahporeem's various anti-force technologies.

This, of course, is much easier said than done for a number of different reasons, with Mahporeenian distrust of force users and the widespread adaptation of anti-force technology making it difficult for the Junkyard Knights to fully integrate into the Mahporeenian Imperial Army. At the end of the day, the Junkyard Knights of Mahporeem remain a powerful combat asset against the enemies of the Imperial Remnant, one that has yet to be used to its full potential.
