the Legend
Biography: Jorj and Jira were born in rather typical fashion as fraternal twins to Leporine parents. His mother, Nerea, was a well-respected huntress inhabiting a colony on Parcellus Minor. His father, Vosteli, was a passerby, or vagamond, or loner, or some other such transient like so many Leporine men were. When over 80% of a species was female, males were often disregarded by members of their own species and objects of obscurity to everyone else. The only times females really wanted a male around was for procreation. Male Leporine were often transient in nature as a result, and colonies were predominantly settled by females alone. The agreement between Nerea and Vosteli was that, should any offspring be male, Vosteli would take the male offspring to raise. However, when Jorj was born, Vosteli was nowhere to be found, and Nerea was left to raise both children. Since twins were common for Leporine pregnancies, Nerea was fully prepared to raise multiple children. But raising a male was not something she had a grasp on.
Jorj felt out of place growing up among a society made up of almost all women. Nerea did everything she could to make Jorj feel accepted by those around him, but he could tell he was different in some way, even before he knew what that meant. As he aged, the few role models he had were men of other species that he saw on the occasional Holo the technology-avoidant Leporine received from merchants visiting the colony. Jorj often daydreamed of a time when he could join kindred spirits offworld. He spent a lot of time on his own. Nerea attempted to feed him things to do since he didn't seem to want to socialize and he quickly gained skills in various artistic forms of expression.
His only real friend was his sister Jira with whom he shared all of his thoughts and feelings. Jorj found his sister a relief from all the pressures he started to feel as a teen and eventually a young adult. She was the only female Leporine he knew who he could confide in without having some sort of societal responsibility beyond the familial. But even she couldn't fully comprehend Jorj's predicament. And while she was supportive, she had no advice to give. While there were plenty of other inhabitants on Parcellus Minor, Jorj couldn't seem to escape the social constructs of his people, torn between a responsibility to them and a desire to run away.
Feeling trapped, eventually, Jorj moved out on his own to the outskirts of the colony. He continued his artistic pursuits and provided for himself well enough. But the internal conflict he felt inevitably led to a drinking problem. While he managed to put food on his plate, a good chunk of his earnings went to a local cantina in the alien part of the settlement.
