The galaxy struggles under the burden of tyranny and imperialism. A few governments try to fight the good fight for freedom and democracy, but they are bound to protect their constituents. The rest of the galaxy has been left to their own devices. The Sith destroyed Mandalore. The Bryn'adul wipe out the populations of every world they conquer. This has gone on for too long without someone standing up to say that this is wrong and stand-up, to fight against injustice, against tyranny, and oppression. Stand up for freedom. For liberty. The opportunity for people to live their own lives in peace and without fear.
For that, the Underground needs you. Whoever you are, wherever you are, you can help. All you need is that commitment to the cause, that belief in doing the right thing, that fire in your heart that drives you to stand for the right thing.
What can you do?
Eyes and Ears
Information and intelligence are key to the fight against tyranny. We need to know our enemies, know their strengths, their movements, their capabilities. Let the galaxy know what happens to those under imperialist regimes. The truth is powerful. It can start a fire of courage, of hope, of resistance to motivate others wherever they are. Live your normal life. Stay where you live. If you learn something or know something, spread the word. Send a message through the grapevine. We can hear you. We're listening. But we need you to know what is going on.
Start Your Own Underground Cell
Maybe you want to do more. Maybe being an informant isn't enough. Maybe that fire in your soul for justice demands something more-- your world free from its oppressors and free from fear. The Underground is a decentralized movement. We work together for a common cause and when we can, we aid our fellow members. Start a movement on your world. Find those who share your conviction. We'll provide the training and supplies. As our collective movements grow, we can get better supplies, better equipment, better training, and when the time is right, we can strike a blow against the imperial. But only you can start the movement among your people.
Soldiers
There are other Underground cells in operation already. People committed to the cause and organizations. They're looking for people to join the cause. Fearless, determined, reckless, bold. Willing to give everything for the cause. If you're willing to go against impossible odds, fleets willing to annihilate entire planets, armies that view anyone and everyone as legitimate targets, led by the most ruthless commanders in the galaxy who thrive on inflicting pain and fear. But sometimes, information and intelligence isn't enough, and we have to stand and fight. Snatch what little victories we can against military juggernauts, and live to fight another die. If you feel like you're brave enough, wild enough, desperate enough, seek us out. We can put you in the fight. After that, it's going to be up to you.
Operatives
Sometimes, we need things more covert than war. The battle best won is the battle never fought. Things need to be handled quietly to ensure that the full military might of the Imperials won't be brought to bear against civilians or ourselves. Sabotage, theft, code-breaking. All these things need specialized skills, discretion, patience, and stealth. But if you like the payoff of a massive explosion or watching the military infrastructure fall apart. We're outgunned, outmanned, and outnumbered. We need to pick our targets carefully, with precision, and maximize our possible impact while taking as little losses as possible, with barely enough resources to scrape by.
Pilots
The Imperial fleets are massive. They have countless Star Destroyers, even Super Star Destroyers, massive behemoths of war with crews the size of planets and the capacity to wipe out entire planetary civilizations. We've got a couple of fuel ships, a squadron or two of fighters, and more than a few freighters with improvements of questionable legality. But the best ships in the world mean nothing without the people to fly them against war machines that dwarf the combined total firepower of our entire organization.
Logistics & Supply
As long as there is tyranny, there will be people willing to fight it. But it doesn't matter how many people are willing to fight if they have nothing to fight with. It takes food, medicine, weapons, ammunition, fuel. We have no worlds to strip mine, no gas giants to devour to power our ships. We barely have enough to move all of our people in an emergency. Logistics and supply specialists are the only people who can keep us alive, keep us afloat, keep the fight alive. Logistics Specialists find and secure guns, fuel, ammunition, medical supplies, from all sorts of sources and methods of transportation to supply our small fleet and military units.
Free Captains
Logistics and Supply officers do what they need to do to acquire materials for the Underground, but sometimes we need things moved more discreetly, more carefully. And for those, we rely on... free captains. Nobody understands more about the importance of freedom than those who make their living on their own, making their own decisions. We work in restricted areas, with strong government oversight, so we need people who know the lay of the land, the people on the routes, and how to move cargo... of questionable legality in places where it's not supposed to be.
Out of Character
Who are the Underground? Well, we're a group of writers who want to tell rebel stories in the vein of Original Trilogy, the underdog in a gritty, seemingly impossible struggle of good versus evil. Stories of being the underdog, of snatching little victories from defeat. Fearless pilots, daring freedom fighters, impossible odds, but the hope that someday, good will triumph over evil, and freedom restored across the galaxy.
We're working on putting together writer-created and developed cells across the galaxy to work collaborations together, build up the full Rebel development storyline, with all the ups, downs, tragedies, and triumphs. The struggles desperate reality of the Rebel Alliance.
What about Jedi and Force users?
They totally play a role, but they're not meant to be the main focus. Jedi are dangerous when it comes to rebellions. They draw Sith attention and that's something that IC, the goal is to avoid that. Building on the legacy and tradition of Jorus Merril, the Underground will be more focused on NFU methods of rebellion. Jedi and other Light-to-neutral Force users are more than welcome, and are the bulk of the group at the moment, but the bulk of the methods will be non-Force reliant, and it gives Jedi plenty of opportunities to learn different skills and methods of accomplishing missions.
Aren't y'all part of OPA?
The Underground is loosely affiliated with OPA and OPA's roots are in the Underground, so there's a relationship between the two.
