Join the Imperium's Second Legion

Founded by General Gulliver Foyle, the Second Legion of the Imperium has a reputation to uphold.

Considered by most of the Imperium brass to be little more than a bunch of uncivilized heretics, the 2nd Legion is a home for those who like the idea of an Empire, but not necessarily the idea of being nameless, faceless cogs in the machine.

Rather than enforcing unyielding obedience to the Imperium, Gulliver encourages creativity and resourcefulness. He doesn't want robots, he wants soldiers who can think on their feet, who can use their brains to get out of sticky situations.

He encourages individuality both on the unit and individual levels. 2nd Legion soldiers aren't given serial numbers. They're not masses of identical white armor with identical weapons. Leaders are given wide berth for coming up with unit markings. Individuals are allowed to choose the weapon that best suits their skillsets. Those who demonstrate quick thinking and initiative are rewarded. Those who are better suited to unquestioning obedience quickly find their way into other legions, where they spread the word of the heretical 2nd.

Though the Supreme Commander tolerates Gulliver and his unorthodox approach as a necessary evil, most of the other high ranking Imperium officials do not. Though they cannot outright expel or execute the general, they've been successful in seeing the 2nd thrown into the grinder time and time again. They do enjoy their little games.

But, as Gulliver is so fond of telling his men, you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.

Every time the 2nd goes out, they come back stronger than before. The stronger they are, the more difficult the missions they can handle. The more difficult the missions, the more glory they receive, and the more Gulliver is vindicated in the eyes of the Supreme Commander.

The 2nd is here to stay. If you're a black sheep in a sea of white armor, we'll gladly take you. It won't be an easy life, but if you survive, you might just find yourself a home.

OOC, we're looking for anyone who likes the idea of an Empire but isn't necessarily a fan of the whole brainwashing thing. We're hoping to write hard military science fiction, with an emphasis on realism in combat over space wizards and one man armies.
