- Description: The Ji'yr Rekr is a subspecies of the near-mythical Te'r Rekr beast native to the world of Concord Dawn, brought to Kestri by members of Clan Kyron from where it evolved after the cataclysm in which the Mind Forge plunged the planet into an eternal winter.
Ji'yr Rekr has many notable differences from it's Concord Dawn cousin. The beast has immense horns and tusks, used in mating, hunting, and combat, as well as snow-white fur that blends into the environment. Another notable difference is its size, a massive three meters in height from ground to head, not including the horns of the beast. It has a massive, shaggy coat white and even bushier mane than its smaller cousin adapted to survive the extremely low temperatures of Kestri. Its tusks are initially white and smooth but will become worn and yellowed with time and use, while their horns remain a craggy grey.
The Ji'yr Rekr is very much the apex predator of Kestri, and although it is probably one of the more rare mammals to inhabit the frozen world, its range extends to pretty much all of the world's topography. Its powerful build allows it to climb treacherous cliffs and mountains and cover great distances with ease and in a relatively short time. Its only real danger is other competitive Ji'yr Rekr, who compete for territory, mates, and even kills. Ji'yr Rekr is fiercely territorial and will challenge anything that encroaches on their domain.
Like their more temperate cousin, the Ji'yr Rekr are highly revered as hunting targets. Their pelts can be fashioned into cloaks, clothing, and ornaments, as well as their horns and tusks. Their horns are extremely receptive to alchemy, and both the horns and tusks are extremely resistant to damage as well as being extremely light, meaning that they can be used for low-grade armor and defensive ornamentation.

The Ji'yr Rekr, or the Winter Wolf, is a subspecies of the Te'r Rekr, the wolf of the sun native to Concord Dawn. Roots of the Ji'yr Rekr subspecies can be traced all the way to the time when Clan Kyron was still the inhabitants of Rhen Var. A pack of Te'r Rekr was brought to Rhen Var and raised over the centuries. The creatures began to adapt to the much colder climate, developing cleaner, whiter pelts that served as better camouflage in the ice and snow, and nature favored the bigger creatures who were more adept at hunting. Clan Kyron played a part in this evolution, selectively breeding the Te'r Rekr pack.
When Clan Kyron migrated to Kestri, they brought their pack with them and continued on the path of selective breeding. But when the forces of the Praetorite Vong wiped out Clan Kyron, the survivors of the pack melted into the now-frozen wild -- and over the course of several millennia, they truly involved into the subspecies of Ji'yr Rekr that is known today.
