OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Jensaa (Sith for True Shadow)
  • Designation: Sentient
  • Origins: Thule
  • Average Lifespan: Tied to the lifespan of their creator, generally ageless. Deteriorates rapidly if there is no central mind providing a scaffolding for them.
  • Estimated Population: Planetary
  • Description: The horrific amalgamation of multiple torn and rendered-down spirits merged into a new whole. The Jensaa appear as semi-corporeal beings. They possess a level of solidity and may interact with the world around them. They maintain largely humanoid forms and wrap themselves in cloth, clothing, or even armor in order to mimic the appearance of physicality. Otherwise they appear as vaguely humanoid clouds of energy and mist. All Jensaa are joined as part of a loose hivemind, connecting them to their creator, but are otherwise independent. Their personalities and individuality are comprised of the combination of the souls used to form them. Each individual acts subconsciously as a neural synapse in a greater consciousness, providing 'processing power' to the whole. Their creator can ask to speak through them and if they are willing, become a new vessel for their creator.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Jensaa are not comprised of organs and do not breathe air.
  • Average Height of Adults: Variable, average humanoid.
  • Average Length of Adults: Variable, average humanoid.
  • Skin color: The mist they are comprised of varies in color from purple to blue to green to red.
  • Hair color: None.
  • Distinctions: Their individual personalities may develop masculine or feminine traits and their 'bodies' may take forms to express that or even express the 'species' they identify as. Jensaa may possess ethereal 'head tails' or horns or other traits that add to their sense of individuality.
  • Races: N/A
  • Force Sensitivity: All
    • Jensaa are born with memories and personalities but do not possess formal training. They must be trained and honed just like any other race. While generally strong in the force, some Jensaa do not even practice force use and simply exist in contemplation or find other forms of work to better the collective.
    • Jensaa do possess a level of short range telepathy and a strong empathy sense that they can use to communicate with outsiders since they do not possess speech organs.
    • Because of their nature, Jensaa form 'eyes' on the front of their heads and 'see' like most other creatures do.
Strengths:
  • Semi-Corporeal: Jensaa do not have organs to destroy, muscles to starve, or blood to lose.
  • Physical Interaction: Despite their semi-corporeality they can hold objects and wear clothing.
  • Strong in the Force: Jensaa are born in the force, all of their kind are strong in it.
  • Semi-Hive-Mind: Jensaa learn rapidly from one another, and can collaborate with one another at a distance. They can hear the thoughts of their creator from anywhere in the galaxy. They provide their creator with mental processing power subconsciously and share their origin memories with them. New memories formed after their birth can be shared willingly but are otherwise their own.
Weaknesses:
  • Semi-Corporeal: Jensaa are not as physically strong as other species, though they can certainly learn to fight.
  • Edge of Physicality: While most solid weapons such as bullets, metal implements, and fists, do nothing to a Jensaa. Energy weapons are particularly effective at driving them off. Vaporizing a Jensaa with energy will force it into a lengthy state of recovery. Purging its core spirit with the force after destroying it in this way will extinguish it permanently.
  • Sensitive to the Force: While they are permanent beings, they are incredibly sensitive to the power of the light and it can cause them great harm that they must take time to recover from.
  • Driven to Serve: They are driven to serve their creator, and may struggle at times with their own individuality. The contradiction between hive mind and individual creates emotional turmoil.
CULTURE
  • Diet: None
  • Communication: Telepathy
  • Technology level: Unremarkable as far as general technology is concerned. They are skilled craftsmen when it comes to the force and are capable of creating weapons, equipment, designing and constructing buildings, and performing other works.
  • Religion/Beliefs: Jensaa worship their creator but otherwise hold their own beliefs based on how they are 'raised'. The Jensaa of Thule are a race of the Sith Order. Jensaa will 'gift' their newly formed memories and freshly acquired knowledge to one another and even present these things to their creator through 'prayer'.
  • General behavior: Jensaa are shockingly empathic creatures with a capacity to understand and sympathize with other beings. This allows them to be both remarkably kind and cruel at times. They are cognizant of their role as a part of a greater whole and that they exist to support their creator. Despite this, they are not tireless creatures, and find moments to rest and enjoy themselves. Their capacity for a general sense of free will results in a tapestry of behaviors and personalities. Some will even form groups with one another that can be described as families allowing for a more dynamic creation of memories and feelings.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Ritual that would be performed on Thule to create the Jensaa has its origins in the texts of the ancient sith. The molding and manipulation of force spirits and the undead was a common enough practice and binding minds together was not unusual as well. The creation of the Rakghoul in ancient times lead to the evolution of the Nekghoul as a sentient species and the truth that a Sith, with the right impetus and preparation, could create sentient life. Various horrors, beings made of energy, and incorporeal entities, have been studied by the sith for millenia. It was only a matter of time before a Sith came along willing to use all that knowledge together to create something truly monstrous.

Nwul, in his tireless search for ways to feed his endless hunger for memories and knowledge, discovered a ritual that could be used to merge souls together to create wraiths. He modified the spell, enhancing it into something absolutely unholy. The ritual would require a sith temple on a dead world that was ravaged by the force. The more souls present on the world the better. Nwul chose the world Thule, which had been all but eradicated in recent years. The agonized spirits of the dead would be torn asunder, their memories, emotions, and knowledge used as the foundations to create something new. Rather than consume them in himself and overwhelm his mind, Nwul decided to outsource to these newly created creatures.

This effort resulted in a planned ritual that when performed with enough support, would convert every bound soul on Thule into the materials for a new race, the Jensaa. His beloved children.

These are pretty interesting. I have small concerns about strengths vs weaknesses, however, they aren't large enough to justify holding up the submission. I will say to be mindful of their use and make sure that your opposition/opposing writer doesn't mind. That being said...They're just rather cool. So, enjoy! [APPROVED]
