Jedi Journey: Takeru

"Yes, you have to keep an eye out for the state of your fighter and surroundings at all times, especially in combat where your situational awareness needs to be high."

Following the progress of the main crew from her own console, she kept an eye on them as they landed planetside, their final destination some kind of citadel.

With bioscanners, she could detect the area teeming with life all around them, but nothing seemed to be approaching the crew of Jedi. They were safe for the moment.

Charlie asked her about the mechanics of the ship's droid brain, which pleased her. She always liked sharing in her interests with her padawan.

"The fighter's 'brain' is a synthetic neural net," she explained. "It functions very much like a central processing unit for a droid, but it's a lot more advanced as the neural net is modeled after a real nervous system."

Her apprentice admitted feeling some anxieties about unseen threats. Jyoti was on her guard, but thus far, nothing had happened in the air. Hopefully, it stayed the same on the ground.

"It is risky being here," she agreed. "But just remain calm and stay vigilant with your monitoring. There's no reason to fret as there isn't yet a problem."

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Matsu was looking at them and everyone was above her the pilots could handle scanning as she moved forward. She was at the base of the citadel tower and reached out with the force. the presence of the hellhoop was around her.. around here where they were looking. It made a sort of background noise to her in the force the further she reached out when it opened. The door was sliced and a section falling off but there was nothing coming out of it or around them. She knew there was something on the sensors but she wasn't able to feel them even the droids who were coming around. THe internal spark of them before the jedi master moved the door aisde.

"Alright head in and be careful." She was looking up towards the ships. "Do either fo you see anything out of the ordinary?" She wanted to say is there movement in the tower itself but she wasn't certain if they could see through the viewports or if they were activated. "Padawans, remain on alert and check the rooms together. We don't want there to be any surprises." WIth a small nod of her head she was letting them go in while she withdrew her saber just in case and the silver hilt gleamed while she walked looking up the stairs of the tower. She could see a large reception area and what looked like a ballroom.

"Well," Asaraa let a small smile pull at her lips as she padded softly forward, passing Master Ike. The young woman paused one moment to run a hand over the cool metal of the door, imagining the forces needed to render it into such a state. Nodding silently she gestured with one hand, her lightsaber spinning up off her belt to thump securely into the palm of her hand. She didn't activate it, not yet, but the feeling of the cool metal cylinder gripped in her palm gave her a feeling of comfort, a pleasant feeling of control. She didn't know what was coming but at least with her lightsaber, she felt she could handle it. "this does sound like it's gonna be interesting." The pink-haired woman waved at the other Padawans, "let see what we can find shall we?" No-one could say she wasn't interested in a little adventure.

[member="Matsu Ike"] told them to stay on their toes, which Zavii took as a cue to go ahead and pluck her saber off it's clip again with a sharp nod. She followed [member="Asaraa Vaashe"]'s wispy, coral-colored hair through the now-unimpeded doorway and into the antechamber of this ancient Citadel. "Yus, let's," she agreed with her fellow Padawan, punctuating her words by casually lighting up her cerulean blade and twirling it in lazy circles as she walked in a circle and looked around.

Her silent steps seemed to keep in time with the gentle voom, voom, voom of her gentle flourishes, the sound of the lightsaber's brilliant plasma burning through the air around her, fixing the air into separate nitrogen and oxygen molecules. At least, she'd heard that during a chemistry lecture from the holonet a few years ago. It was her own little way of helping to terraform a world, to keep the chemical cycles of biology running at their usual breakneck pace. There is Life amid Death, she recited in her mind, getting lost in thought as her eyes sort of glazed over the ancient ruins inside the building.

After a few seconds she realized that she'd zoned out and closed her eyes, breathing deeply of the old, dusty air to center herself. Since nothing was really capturing her eyes, she decided instead to reach out with her other senses. Feeling the dusty floor under her feet, smelling the unfamiliar scents in the stale air, mixed with ozone from her gently thrumming weapon, and listening to the Song of the building and world around her. She reached out, past her companions and deeper into the ancient castle. Not far away, on another level of the building, she could pick out the aura of the strange man who'd been flying their ship. She hadn't realized that he was coming to the surface, but she could sense something wrong. The Zabrak hummed in curiosity and frowned as she tried to figure out what it could be.

"Oi," she paused the steady spinning of her blade and held it down, bouncing it slightly in her fingers as she tried to parse the man's Song, "Dos anyone else sense dhat? Tha pilot. 'E seems... I fink 'e's in trrouble."

Charlie understood the concept of the fighter’s brain when Jyoti compared it to a person’s nervous system. Everything cycled in and out of the brain from all points of the fighter. Though machines weren’t always perfect, so one couldn’t fully rely on it in certain situations, like a dog fight where things were unpredictable. As advanced as technology got, there was still a sequence it needed to follow.

The Master reassured the padawan an Charlie leaned back doing her best to remain calm. If there was something really up, Jyoti would have felt it before Charlie could understand it. Moments like that made the young K’paur admire her Master even more. Trying to keep her mind on her ill feelings she continued to ask about the fighter brain. She was interested in the droid and how it assisted a pilot – the more she learned about technology the more she wanted to use it.

“So nervous systems for the fighters…does that mean it sense danger like we do? Or does something have to trigger a series of presets?”

Seemed [member="Zavii"] did not like the nick name he gave her, understandable, it was kind of childish, but then again on a vampire scale Tana was still a baby to most, though it was not much of a problem. Preparing to move out the Jin Jedi kept in close behind the Zabrak and [member="Matsu Ike"], making sure to keep his heightened senses out and aware for any unnatural moment that may result in an untimely death. "Question can force shielding protect you against the 'things' that inhabit this planet"? There was the ever chance that they would be ambushed in this abandoned place, an eery silence and dreading atmosphere surrounding those venturing into it's depths.

Suddenly Zavii sounded out some concern, fiddling with her weapon, Tana reaching for his duel Wazakashi, grasping the hilt but keeping it sheathed, "define feel that, this place even gives me the creeps, or is there something specific that you sense". On one hand it felt like their group was constantly under watch but again that this place was void of life, from an outside view the entire area felt like the perfect setting for a horror, game, not that he wanted to be in one. "So [member="Asaraa Vaashe"], what do you suppose we will find in here"? he asked in a soft voice, eyes glancing to the side as the groups ventured further away from the LZ. Out of those here the Togruta turned human seemed to be the one of the most knowledge about this place they where investigating.

Opening up the squad comms I said "Everyone else ok here? Just had an intriguing listen to some mind invading entity. Fairly polite though as mind-invading entities go. Might be a good idea to sense before you grab things though I kinda just dealt with a mutated Tuk'ata. No worries though! It's dead now. Heading down from the top levels I'll be in touch Vespera out." I hadn't been expecting the Tuk'ata let alone the level of mutation. I beheaded it just to be safe and continued moving through the archives and heard a separate entity inside my mind. "Hullo there!" Sighing I said "well... at least you announced yourself pleasantly...." "Ahh yes we forget the mortals have to use words to speak. Anyhoozles! My name is Lucia and I'll be pointing out things that'll be good to take and other things not exactly friendly in the archives. Oh! Also I'll be remaining with you until you reach us. Soooo I'm gonna be the voice in your head that's also a navigator. Hooray for you!"

Of Gods Gods above and Devils below! Sighing I said "fine simply indicate what it is I'll need." I felt a slight pressure in my head then saw lavender illumination across the wing. "Thank you Lucia..." Walking over to several display racks I began picking up several stacks of data discs and opened compartments in my armor to store them. There were several journals as well leather that looked disturbingly similar to dried skins. Hopefully animal skins... then a long rack of scrolls capped with various wax designs on the ends. She'd indicated the whole shelf..... "Lucia..... that's a whole shelf of scrolls. How am I supposed to carry all of those?" "Oh! Whoops! Here you go." Then out of nothingness came a small.....wallet? "Oh right! Mortals have problems understanding this usually. The little wallet is essentially a dehydrator for books and such. It shrinks them down to itty bitty particles then when you're ready you can pull all those things out." Well that made everything a little easier.

Opening the wallet I triggered the plates in my armor and began simply dropping the data discs into the wallet. Doing the same with the journals and scrolls I folded the wallet and placed it within the armor segment on my left thigh plate. "One last thing Andorreth......you're going to need to grab a few weapons here. However the cases they're in aren't trapped if you open them only if you take the weapons inside. However in order to survive the ground journey you'll need all of the things I'm about to mark. Now there are the parasites that live here in the citadel and those are what will flood this level once you take these weapons. What I suggest is taking the item I indicate first and using it on them it will destroy any parasitic organism of the Eldritch kind. Then you clear out the case."

Oh come on... I knew this would be too easy. Looking over towards a weapon case I saw a gauntlet indicated in that same lavender hue. Opening the case I sighed and grabbed it slipping what felt like liquid over my left gauntlet. On cue vats in the ceiling opend with the parasitic critters. "Force Lightning and Flame Vespera!" Obeying rather than questioning I triggered the two powers and sweeping the gust of Force Maelstrom over the room I watched as the creatures absorbed the flame and lighting until they were fat with it then they popped like pus-filled boils. They'd literally eaten themselves to death. I felt a surge of energy rush into the gauntlet and stay there. "The runes and jewels that have embedded in your gauntlets store the energy expended and taken from another life. However again this will only take the energy of the Eldritch creatures killed, nothing else." I worked on clearing out the case and dropping things into the wallet before closing it and tucking it secure in the armor segment on my left thigh. Well at the very least I'd be able to defend the padawans now should they touch something they shouldn't...

Matsu was looking at the ones as they spoke about it, checking out the different areas they had with all of the padawans. Before she could answer though the one seemed to sense it or feel it... this place was risky and a danger but... it was also quiet. She had never encountered these creatures before and they might not. "The creatures may be here but they are only a small danger... the queen of the citadel was dangerous on her own they just made her more so." When she was looking and checking out some parts of it though the jedi master looked around as the vault they wanted was on display, suspended within the center of the room itself on gravity repulsors.

"Now that is not what I was expecting." The area of the party would let them see some parts of it and she saw the lavish display where the queen would have been sitting.overlooking. She looked up towards the roof while she could feel their pilot moving in to search with them. Outside she could feel the pilots were within their own thing when Matsu got over to the chair providing what scanners she could over different sections of it. "I am not seeing how we can open the vault but we might be able to get into the queen's chambers, she likely would have had something there we can use to figure it out or information about what has happened here."
