Jedi at Outpost 09

Dominator didn't say anything. Destiny... What is destiny? Is it a lie, what makes you do everything to make that lie become truth? Or is it just nothing, a thing what doesn't exist? The Jedi... The Sith... Light, Dark. Pure Energy! That's right. It all had begun, when Dominator chose to follow the path of Unifying Force. Now he knows, that there is the Force, what is the light side and the Darkness, what is the dark side. But they are not perfect. Nothing is perfect. It must be his destiny to clear them, make them both pure to release the true, Pure Energy. "A year ago, when I became a Padawan, I didn't even think about two different sides. There was just... the Force. But various missions, discoveries, truth... Made me think, that there is everything. The Force is just the light side of a mysterious energy. And the other side is the Darkness. But... Behind them, there is Pure Energy, flowing in all Force-sensitive people. We can not sense it, because we live in lies. I think it is my destiny to destroy the lies and release the truth..." Dominator finally said. His destiny and his path were clear now.

Carmen had listened to Equa and thought that it was going to be a hard goal for him to accomplish, but if it was noble to him thats all that mattered. she said her thoughts out loud "I think that destiny is what puts us in situations that test us to our fullest, and Equa what you just said that you were out to do is going to be one hell of a test."

"I see. I wish I could claim to see a lofty ideal myself. However, you could say I am on a quest. You see my father was murdered in cold blood because a six fingered man wanted something which he made. I was too young to stop him, so sought to avenge him. That is where I got this scar." Pointing to the scar on is cheek. "Over the years I have been studying the blade so that when I face him I would be ready. But my studies have taught me to let go of the hate, to let go of the anger. It is hard, I must confess. A daily struggle to control, but I refuse to let it consume me. One day we will face one another and I will bring him to justice. Well I would if only I could find a Master willing to teach me more control over my emotions."

"Fear not Inigo. Our Order is very new. Only weeks ago did we gather together enough strays to form our merry band here on Tython. ...In time. We shall gather teachers and learn well."

She looked around the table. But she did not see Padawans. Oh no. Karen saw the next generation of Jedi Knights. The next generation of Leaders for the Order. Oh yes. They might be small now. But in time, they would become true Champions.

"I bid everyone gathered here the best of luck in your endeavors and questing. For when your quests are over and your cup of adventure is full? This Order shall welcome you back as the next generation of Jedi Masters. I have no doubt of it."

She sat back in her chair and smiled. The future was bright indeed.

"But come now. Let talk of our training and our preparations next. Tell me everyone? What does it mean to be a Jedi to you? ...Equa you speak of balance. Is this the meaning of a true Jedi to you? ...Carmen you spoke of being tested to our fullest. What tests do you believe lie ahead of you? ...And Inigo. You spoke of being justice to the evil-doer. How will you prepare to do so as a Jedi swordsman?"

"The Jedi Order is more than just Force-sensitives, who wield lightsabers and fight with various people. For me, the Jedi Order has never been like that. The Force flows in all of us, no matter what. But to release the true potential, we don't choose the path of the Darkness, we don't choose the path of the Force. We choose the path of Equality. Why do Jedi fall to the Darkness? They never use the power they are given and the imbalance tries to balance itself, but... It actually chooses the wrong side. So Jedi is the path of Equality for me." Dominator said.

"Jedi are protecters of the galaxy. They stand for freedom and Right, and our tests or trials are resisting the Dark side. To over come what we fear the most. I believe that Jedi are not just some person that has powers, but a person who stands for what they love or hold close to them. with out using power for their own gain" Carmen said. She believed that there was a force to be reackond with when you attack something that means to some one. "Lets say you were to attack something that a person cared for. They would do everything in their power to stop you from doing that or hinder you from doing it again."

"I train every day to harness my skill. I am constantly seeking to improve my knowledge of fighting techniques as well as widen my understanding of the Force. All to often when we fight, we fight in a rage. I seek to go beyond that a find a inner peace. It is my goal to have my sword fight to protect the weak, the oppressed. All to often they with no voice are trampled by those with power. I seek to bring about a balance. I know its a tough path to follow, I would face many challenges. But one day I hope that my sword can help bring peace in a universe that only knows war and violence."

"Brave and noble words. All of you. It is an honor to be in your company."

Oh yes indeed. These men and women would go far. Karen nodded her head and noticed that their food had arrived. Early too. What a wonderful surprise.

"Oh my. It looks like our lunch as arrived."

She stood up and let the air speeder land on the nearby pad. A pilot got out and began opening the customized cargo hatch. It was a catering vessel and held many small white compartments for carrying food. The pilot's spoke up,

"Lunch orders! Come and get your lunch orders!"

Karen waved the Padawans over. She approached the pilot and told him her name. Then she received a large white box with a number and a paper receipt on it.

"Here you go Jedi Roberts. Just like you ordered. ...When your done just leave the Meal Box right here on the Pad. I'll be back to collect them in two hours. Have a great meal everyone."

The pilot took everyone else's name and handed them each a white box with their food. It was time to eat.

Dominator rubbed his stomach and smiled. Now it was the time. He stood up, but then he was bombed with the voice again. "Dominator, you must join us, you must be loyal to the Darkness! Join us now! There is no time to wait and sit here!" It seemed like thousand voices said it at once. It was so loud, that Dominator sat down again and took a medicine. It all made his head hurt. "Oh, finally we can eat!" Dominator said after his headache faded.

Carmen was starving and grabed her dish to eat. she sat back down at the tabel that they were at and chowed down. Almost inhaling her food. "So hungry!" She said. returning back to the topic she said "Thank you for saying such things Karen."

"Ah the food. Muy gusto bene." Inigo said as he smacked his lips in anticipation. "This is an old recipe passed down from my family. The rich golden brown squid rings contrast against the cool cucumber on a bed of bread. Then wash it down with this crisp cider, it will refresh your palate." Offering them a glass each, he poured liberally and then got down to the business of eating. "My mother used to say if I didn't become a Jedi, I would be a wonderful cook."

Karen sat down and graciously accepted Inigo's hospitality. Being a furiously independent woman, Karen could admire a good cook.

"Wonderful addition to the palate Master Montoya. Where ever did you learn to cook?"

She noticed Equa wasn't feeling well, but again... Added it to the list of his species. Perhaps the light was too hard on him.

Dominator took her food and looked at it. Great, he had already forgot, what he had ordered. But now, he thought: Why did I choose this? But he took a fork and put it inside the beefsteak. Then he looked at other people and took a knife too. Well, he had good manners, but he didn't use knife very much. He cut a piece of it and put it in his mouth. Oh, it wasn't a wrong choice. Really, it was great. "But Carmen... And Inigo, what do you wait from your life in the Jedi Order?" He asked, when his mouth was empty again.

"I want to help people. Stop the people that would harm another person. If I have to harm some one to save a hundred souls I would. In a heart beat. But i will always think fo some way to stop them with out killing them. Everybody has a role to play In this life, and if I were to end ones role it could change the way someone acts or reacts." Carmen answered.

She didnt lke to kill people. it was horrable to do such things. but if she were to kill so another person wouldnt have to she would do it. Carmen is a Selfless woman. she would give a beagar her clothes if she could. She like herself that way.

"Thank you for the kind words Miss Roberts. But I am no master, not yet anyway. I learned the recipes from my mother, bless her soul. It was handed down generations of our family as far as I could remember. Also I try to learn a native dish or two when I visit a world. They say food is a reflection of the planet's soul. So I try to savor each experience and take it with me to share with friends I meet along the way."

"Friend Dominator. Honestly? I hope one day peace of mind. I am good with the blade, it is my gift. But I do not want that gift to be all that defines me. I could use my skill to earn a good living, but what then about the poor and defenseless? Who will fight for them? I may be on a fools errand to bring a small measure of justice and equality in the universe, but I think my father would be proud of the decision I made. Don't you think?"

"Being a strong and capable person is the desire of every Jedi. Now, maximizing that potential? Well. That is a whole other story indeed."

Karen had thought about this decision quite a bit. It was one of the reasons she debated leaving Tython all the time. All she really wanted was to stay here for the rest of her life as a Padawan and rebuild the Order. Help civilize a strange new world. But Master Ben had asked for leaders. He had asked for people who could defend this galaxy at the highest levels possible. Not just thinking about one man, one nation, or one whole planet. This was about the fate of all the worlds combined. And that was a monstrous task indeed.

"I can only hope that by the time each of us finds ourselves? There is still something left of the galaxy to hold on to. One Jedi world is far too small. And the few core worlds that joined the Republic won't be enough either. Reports of the Sith enslaving whole sectors on the Rim, have me worried indeed. ...Not for myself. But for the next generations of good people. In the next hundred years, the Sith could rule half of the galaxy or more."

She paused her eating and shook her head. It was a sore subject.

"I'm sorry. Nevermind me. I think I've just caught too much sun."

Dominator put his hand on miss Robert's shoulder. "Don't worry. Your mission is honest, selfless. Whatever happens, the Jedi will remember you as the person, who remade Tython." He was sure, that one day, Karen will be a full member, being honoured by every Jedi. She just had to concentrate on her mission. "I will come back one day. I will help you. The Sith Empire has no chance, when standing against pure love... Love for the Jedi Order." He didn't know, what to say now, so he just ate his food now. Again, he was surprised about the food's brilliant taste.

Carmen liked the conversation that they were having. It was layed back and eased down. She understood what Karen was talking about. The Sith seemed to grow every day. It was scary how they moved from one side of the galaxy to the other. She said "Its okay Karen, someone may just be going though what you are feeling now. I know that you would make and awesome Jedi Master..." Jokingly says ".... that is if you finish your meal first."

Finishing the last of his meal, Inigo clapped his hands together to get rid of the crumbs before taking his sitar and plucking a few strings. Finding the right melody, he serenaded them with a song about hope and bright tomorrows. Despite the darkness around them, there was always hope as long as one Jedi stood up for the ideal, the Darkness would never win.

She nodded and carried on,

"Yes. Yes of course. You are right. ...Mmm."

Karen shifted her plate and tried to remain distracted.

"Ahem. ...So? I see there are a few hobbies among us. Inigo being our master of the guitar. Hehe. Perhaps I should take up a new hobby too. ...Never too late to learn something new, I suppose."
