Strengths:
- Decent Arms: The Jast 3rd Rate packs a punch that is respected if not the best. She can hold out in a line and deal some damage to shields and hull alike with her compliment.
- Manoeuvrable: The Jast 3rd Rate can move side to side and turn hard when she needs to. The tradeoff is her flat out speed is slower.
- No Fighters: The Jast 3rd rate carries no fighters to escort her. As such she must rely upon other forces to screen her from attack by bombers and the like.
- Slow: The Jast 3rd rate is slower, but it is the trade off for her manoeuvrability in battle. Engines were cut in favour of manoeuvrings jets.
After the success of their freighters and support vessels the Jast Shipwright Co. Engineers wanted to build a ship of the line. Basing their design off ancient sailing vessels and striving to achieve the same means of movement to gun ratio they built the Jast 3rd Rate.
The Jast 3rd Rate was built as a mostly Kinetic Vessel, requiring Ray Shields rather than standard deflectors to block her shots.
It's a decent vessel for any would be Captain. It can pack a punch, move, turn and keep up with most fleets. They do best in pairs, when fire power delivered can be maximized. A popular tactic for this vessel during Invasions and Dominions might be to stack her with a main battle line for extra fire power on the cheap.
