Description:
The Jariler Rugam Beskar'gam is a customized version of the Hyperion Beskar'gam.
From the files regarding the Hyperion Beskar'gam:
Like its more common cousin, the Hyperion Beskar'gam is a Beskar armored suit which emits ray shielding over key vulnerable areas of the wearer when activated. Running off of standard power cells, the armor can operate for up to two hours of continuous use. Though, heavy absorption of weapons fire can deplete a charge in as little as five minutes in some extreme cases.
A Beskar Armorweave forms a bodysuit over the wearer of the armor. Photoreactive Fibers are woven into the underlining armorweave cloth that forms the bottom layer of a suit of armor. These fibers passively change color to match their surroundings and enhance the natural camouflage of a suit of armor. On the top of this bodysuit are several ports and anchor sites. Beskar plates are then attached to the suit at these anchor sites. Individual Beskar plates cover the Chest, Upper abdominal area, the sides of the rib-cage, to the left and right of the kidneys, the Left and Right upper back, over the kidneys on the rear of the torso, over the shoulders. There are also upper arm plates, elbow plates, forearm plates, plates over the back of the hands, plates on the front and back of the thighs, plates on the knees, shin plates, and a small plate that covers the upper part of the foot. The spine is protected by a series of small, interlocking plates. Covering these armor plates is a coating of Reflec polymer, which insulates the armor and protects it from sensors, as well as warping the light that hits the armor and adding to the general camouflage of the suit by passively reflecting the lights and colors which surrounded the armor.
On the back side of these plates and woven into the armorweave itself are various electronic circuits and devices. From these electronics and emitters hidden throughout the suit, the devices that project the ray shields are hidden. The ray shields are projected directly over the existing Beskar plates, but are slightly larger and projected slightly away from the body. There are three setting for the shielding. Setting one just activates the shields that cover the chest and abdominal area, the second setting covers the entire front and rear torso area as well as the shoulders, and the third setting activates shields over the entire body, including the upper and lower limbs.
Another device included is a Photo-Optic Replicator that serves as a type of harness that has multiple sensors and holoprojectors mounted on it. The sensors take readings of the visual spectrum surrounding the user and the holoprojectors display the readings on the wearer itself. By doing so, the Camouflage Harness makes the user appear as their surroundings, essentially rendering them invisible. The device does, however, have some drawbacks. It does not make the wearer completely invisible. When at close ranges and looking directly at it, one might see an almost phantasmal silhouette of the wearer. It was also less useful in environments that included rain, snow, or ashfall, as the precipitation would often stick to the suit and distort both the sensors and the projection. Also, if the user moved to fast, the sensor units would misread the environment and cause the image being projected to blur, and become distorted.
Also included is a Sound Dampening Belt that muffles most common noises to levels that are inaudible beyond three meters from the wearer. This system allows wearers to walk over gravel or re-load a power pack without fear of being heard, but will not be able to effectively dampen the sounds of a thruster pack or a weapon being fired.
The last system installed is a thermal regulator that serves as a means with which the suit is able to raise or lower the temperature being emitted by the suit of armor, its wearer, and the electronic devices within. The device adjusts this temperature to match the temperature around the wearer, making the wearer practically invisible to thermal sensors.
The non-passive components of the armor could be turned on and off by the wearer and required power to operate. The numerous complex systems of the armor required a standard power pack to operate and could last for three hours of continuous use.
Attached to the back of the armor is a Hyperion Combat Power Pack that greatly extends the use of the electronic components of the armor. The Hyperion Combat Power Pack can be connected to a blaster weapon via a special adaptive cable that runs from the side of the power pack to standard power pack port of the weapon. Used in this way, the power pack can provide twenty times the standard ammo that the weapon would otherwise use. Alternatively, the Hyperion Combat Power Pack can provide twenty times the standard operation time for Hyperion Combat Armor Shielding System, Hyperion Active Camouflage System, and Hyperion Combat Helmet.
The wearer of the Hyperion Beskar'gam may not activate the Combat Shielding and Active Camouflage at the same time, as the two systems interfere with each other. On the whole, while on passive setting, the armor and helmet are fully operational for 30 days of continuous use. At maximum standard power draw, switching between Combat Shielding and Active Camouflage as needed, a fully equipped suit can expect an operational window of between 40 and 60 hours, depending on combat conditions. Heavy combat can reduce this operational window to as low as 140 minutes of continuous fighting. And even though the system can power itself for a total of 60 hours of use without requiring a new power source, after 12 hours of continuous use, the system does tend to overheat and will require a minimum of 1 hour of inactivity from the Shield System and Active Camouflage System to avoid sustaining internal damage as the delicate electronics overload.
Users are advised against adapting the Power Pack to a suit of armor and to a weapon at the same time. While the power pack is more than capable of providing power to both sources, it tents to result in a drastic drop in expected combat operation time for both the weapon and the armor. In active combat, while taking sustained fire and firing in return, an effective minimum of 45 minutes of extended fighting can be obtained so long as the wearer limits him or her self to a maximum of 650 shots from a standard blaster rifle.
The Combat De-Ionizer that wraps around the interior of the Hyperion Combat Power Pack dampens the effects of Ion Weaponry and protects the power pack itself from being burned out. Sustaining a hit from an Ion Weapon will still disable the electronics of a suit of Hyperion Beskar'gam for a minimum of a few minutes, but thanks to the insulation provided by a Combat De-Ionizer, the armor and secondary systems will be fully operational after the De-Ionizers have had a few minutes to absorb and dissipate the the energy from the Ion Weapon. If low on power, the HCPP can actually absorb some of the energy from an Ion Weapon and further reduce the negative effects of an Ion Weapon upon the wearer and the armor itself.
