History: Jak has had a bit of a complicated past. Born out of forbidden love between a Jedi and a smuggler (that’s original), he was raised by his dad, learning the art of not being caught.
When his dad disappeared on Jak’s 17th birthday, leaving him the ship, all his money, and half a lifetime of knowledge, Jak did the only thing he could do, and followed in his father’s footsteps.
Fast-forward 3 years later. Jak has found himself in a bit of a mess with a deal gone south. After being hired on/rescued by the Omega Protectorate (previously Omega Pyre), he finally got to sit back for a while. This, however, did not last long, after he made off with some of their equipment, and decided to strike out on his own, making a best friend in the process.
Trying out life as a bounty hunter, it wasn’t that long till he fell into the snares of one much wilier than he… though that isn’t exactly saying much. After naïvely falling in love with Circe Savan, he was modified, albeit against his will, into a human/plant hybrid. Living with her for a while proved interesting at best, crazy at worst. And then he did a dumb. He married her.
This ultimately proved to be futile… which he found out for himself. He came home one day to find that his wife had previously been married, and hadn’t divorced… Oops. And that the other woman to whom Circe was married had killed Circe and shipped her body back to Omega Pyre. Extremely pissed off at the world in general, Jak did an even bigger dumb. He decided to go to war against Omega Pyre.
After breaking down one door too many in the middle of their headquarters, he was subsequently arrested and flung into prison… How he escaped he still doesn’t know to this day.
Finally deciding to stick to what he was good at, he joined the Lords of the Fringe as a bodyguard/fighter/hacker/smuggler/pilot. Then things went sour.
After attempting to learn the Force – which went alright – he decided to join in at a skirmish on the LoTF/Republic border. There, he met his long-time friend, Josh, again, only now, on opposite sides…
Disheartened, he quit the Lords of the Fringe, much more diplomatically this time around. Once again on his own, he decided to start his own Smuggler’s Collective.
Things were actually looking up; he met a nice girl, whom he asked to be his wife. And she said yes. Getting married in a quiet ceremony, his high hopes of life were utterly smashed – literally – when an asteroid apparently claimed the life of his wife and her ship. Distraught, in shock, and grieving, he retreated deep into the forests of New Ithor, where he lived out a self-imposed exile, trying to figure out what was wrong with him and his life.
Till the answer came to him.
It was so simple.
Circe …. must pay.
Some Time Later
Realizing he had kind of no more than woken up on the wrong side of bed, as it were, he mellowed once he found out that Circe had died. As such, he decided to join up with a fairly profitable-looking faction, the Techno Union.
Life was good, his wallet was stuffed, as well as his bank account. But the life of a body guard just wasn't what he was looking for. Too sedentary, too stuffy. And as such, he decided to traipse his little way out, stumbling across Leyan Viceritas in the process. A young princess, he saved her from suicide, and took her on a magical journey across the stars. She wasn't entirely open about it at first, but became gradually more and more happy with spending time outside her sheltered kingdom.
Till she was kidnapped. By her 'husband', the king of Ritalik. Jak headed back to rescue her, but unfortunately, it couldn't be the same way twice.
Mortally wounded, with the king killed, Leyan is currently being rushed to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where Jak desperately hopes his best friend will give him one last favor...
Several Years Later
Finding himself a widower once more, he has taken upon himself to be more self-sufficient, and to try to take an active stance in the changing galaxy.
Personality: Jak is pretty happy-go-lucky with most things. Able to face most situations with a grin, he still tries to remain aware of the space he's in, so he's not proverbially or literally laughing at a funeral. His hands can commonly be found around blaster grips, starship joysticks, or flower petals. A tree-hugger (very much literally), Jak is a nature-loving green-thumbed advocate of a little more green in people's life. And sometimes that green includes $$$.
Description of modifications to self: When Jak was first modified by Circe, she rewrote his DNA with several viral RNAs to turn his DNA to one similar to a plant’s, giving his cells plant-like properties, including chloroplasts and cell walls. This means that Jak could not only absorb energy and nutrients via sunlight, his body was also a lot tougher.
After several further experiments and some experience, he learned that he was able to control his body to both change form in minor ways, and to control other plants in major ways. After years of practice, and a large time spent in solitude, he has almost perfected his power. He is able to make plants grow rapidly, sometimes just out of barren dirt, and is able to manipulate them to his will, with the help of the Force. He doesn’t hurt the plants when he does so, and tries to put them back to normal when he’s done his practicing.
As he is made of plant matter himself, he can change his own body at will, to some degree, including manipulation of his physical form and coloration. Nevertheless, he has always been particularly vulnerable to flame. When he is manipulating plant matter, he can create a variety of different plant structures, the most common of which are vines. He can make trees shoot up from the ground, can make different plants grow at accelerated rates, and can also twist nature; spikes, teeth, and other various appendages and accessories are just a few of the things Jak can manipulate plants to ‘grow’.
Unfortunately, this power is somewhat limited. The more he tries to twist nature, the more exhausting it is to perform. Distance too affects his power; the larger the distance away from what he wants to transform, the harder it is to focus, and the slower the transformation will happen. His maximum effective range is a mere 500 m. This might potentially be extended if he syncs up with other Force users, but this is uncertain as of yet. Touching a plant will help him focus more on what he wants to transform, but again, the further the distance, the slower and more difficult the transformation will be.
Stamina-wise, changing plants and transforming them is as exhausting as telekinesis; constant use will tire Jak out very quickly; that is why he prefers to save the power for absolute necessities only.

Strengths: All the strengths associated with being a plant, as well as a skillset which is more or less being a jack-of-all-trades – smuggler, slicer, pilot-for-hire, lightsaber enthusiast, gunman, tanker, etc.
Weaknesses: A tendency to underestimate foes, as well as overestimate self. A lack of proficiency in any specific skill means that, up against a master, he is most likely to lose. Also, fire bad.
