Intent: A Beskar weapon that reflects Funky’s talents as both a smith and a musician.
Development Thread: Behold my Ballad of Beskar
Manufacturer: Funky. He smithed it himself.
Model: Not applicable.
Affiliation: Funky Balor, Mandalorian of clan Balor.
Modularity: The second hollow space can hold things, but it’s not any more modular than a cargo space.
Production: Unique. Only the one.
Material: Beskar
Classification: Staff/spear/flute/noise-maker
Size: Hand and a half, really. Best thrown with both hands, unless you've got a throwing arm like pack mule.
Length: 1.4 meters
Weight: 14 Kilograms
Special Features: The staff includes an integrated bes’bev and a crenellated hollow chamber, design to produce loud noises and spin when the javelin is thrown. The loud, alien “roaring” noise was produced based on digital tissue mapping and sound simulation from a fossilized Mythosaur larynx, and is an attempt to emulate their powerful roar. The staff is designed to catch air and reverberate it in volume dependent on the velocity, and the Bes’bev atop the staff can be played to great effect. One end (the 'bottom') of the staff has been sharpened to a spear-tip, allowing it to pierce opponents as well as bludgeon them into submission.

Strengths:
  • Like any solid Beskar weapon, it's hard to destroy.
  • The roar is intimidating as all hell.
  • It's still a perfectly functional flute, because why not.
  • The substantial weight and sharpness of the spear-end make it excellent for piercing targets.
  • It's length ensures a good reach advantage over your typical beskar'gam.
  • The unusual shape and outlandish designs make people underestimate the fighting style of the weapon it self.

Weaknesses:
  • Heavy as all get-out.
  • Kind of cumbersome
  • Virtually impossible to conceal.
  • The noise-making parts require frequent cleaning.
  • Few things are as lacking in intimidation factor as a brassy tree branch shaped walking stick.
Description:

"A weapon is the expression of our soul. Why should mine not be musical?"

A challenging weapon made by Funky to reflect his own esoteric fighting style, the screaming iron staff was made using a nav-computers advanced mathematical algorithms to reverse engineer petrified Mythosaur remains to try and divine its voice. Perhaps it was audacity, or lunacy, that drove the Goran to this decision. Or maybe he was just overcompensating for the clan's suspicion that slow, ponderous, contemplative alien wouldn't make that great a Mando. Either way, the result is clear. Whether or not his staff roars like a Mythosaur, only the ancients could say. But it does roar, and it roars loud, with an alien noise that echoes throughout.

Funky was proud of his strange weapon-instrument hybrid. For, as the Bes'bev roared, so did Funky--but louder and wilder still. The staff roars like his heart does, and that is glorious for the singer of tales, and dangerous to those who would fight him.

Please change the Here ya go title for the dev thread to reflect what the actual title of the dev thread is.

Also, do you not think that this weapon is absolutely impossible to be wielded unless you're wearing crushgaunts/power armor ? 35 kilograms is a helluva lot weight for a staff and especially spear that as far as I understood could be used as a javelin.

Otherwise, it has no problems apart from being super unhandy for a weapon but that is all your call.

Ehh, whittled it down to 14 kg, which is still heavier than a sword of a very heavy metal, but I think usable for the very strong/incredibly crazy. Done and done. Metric system is a bit of a beast.
