The design for this particular lightsaber had been in the back of Jacen's mind as he continued training in the ways of the Jedi, though this weapon is inevitably wielded by a Sith Lord. It is built so the emitter shroud can be removed from the hilt for more conspicuous traveling when needed. It is fashioned to look like the hilt of a standard sword, fitted with a circular cross-guard and durasteel lip that runs up a very small portion of the blade.
