Production: Minor (Restrictions Apply)

Description: With a galaxy continually subsumed in war, often the first line of defense is knowing where your enemies are. Civilians in particular are wary of stumbling onto a battlefield, or being caught in one of the many pirate raids that plague the hyperlanes. Unfortunately, civilian sensor suites just aren't of the same caliber as traditional military sensors, to say nothing of the advanced suites being designed by militaries across the galaxy. As many CEC products see use within private military corporations and police forces, the decision was made to offer a sensor upgrade kit for those cleared to purchase it.

A military-grade sensor dish and equipment, the J4 upgrade kit can be applied to practically any freighter, though CEC freighters enjoy a natural advantage in installation over other product lines. Essentially a more sensitive dish coupled with adjustable search bands, the J4 upgrade kit affords a number of methods of detecting pirates or unwanted guests, from gaseous filtration to thermal imaging.

Such an extensive kit is not without its downsides. The kit requires a full hundred twenty-five tons of cargo space be sacrificed to make room for the new equipment. As well, the sensor dish must regularly be calibrated or suffer degradation. And though it offers superior sensor scanning power over civilian models, it still falls short of advanced military sensor suites and lacks any means to detect a cloaking field.

Corellian Engineering keeps a record of all J4 purchases for security and liability purposes and does not share the information with third parties without legal request.
